At the turn of the century, the dream of a better life led many people to the American West to establish small, single-family ranches. Some realized this dream, but many did not. MILES TO GO details the lives of one couple who have survived on their Wyoming ranch even as subsistence ranching disappears under competition for land use and changes in American society. Without sentimentality or perpetuation of myth, the film eulogizes an era of this country’s history while exploring the philosophy and gritty humanity of those who settled the remote areas of the West. |
