Details:

The MGM crime reporter introduces Mr. Duncan, the head of a charity chest of a large city. Duncan talks about racketeers who steal from charities, which in essence is robbing those who can’t help themselves. He tells of one such story, of a free medical clinic, its chief, Dr. Douglas, who has long worked to help the poor with medical services they could otherwise ill afford. With insufficient funds from his local charity chest to carry out the work, he believes it is a Godsend that Spencer and Cathy Gaffney not only want to make a sizable donation out of memory for their son who died a medical student, but to lead a fund-raising drive to replace reliance upon the already stretched thin charity chest, that drive which would make the clinic self-sustaining. What Douglas is unaware of is that the Gaffneys are swindlers who plan to raise the money in the name of the clinic, and abscond with that money. If the Gaffneys are not caught, their work could ruin the good name of Douglas’ clinic, and in the process risk the lives of the people who depend on the clinic.
