Blood Memory is a dramatic thriller that captures the moment when an entire family’s history is set to a new course. In the case of Brenda McBannon, an attachment to her abusive brother Jason is the last obstacle standing in the way of her and her son Charlie’s new beginning. The film centers on the idea that the choices of our ancestors live inside of us. Their difficulties, pain, their sadness and indeed their violence is all somehow passed down - just as the color of eyes or hair. In this film, the protagonist is faced with a choice, to break her family’s traumatic and violent past and change their “blood memory” as a way to protect her son, or to do nothing. The film takes place on the day when Brenda is forced to make her choice, even if the consequences are shattering.
