Chris was a cynical bastard; a smug Brooklyn business owner fed up with the changing neighborhood and feeling like the last real man on Earth. A real man that carelessly ran his father’s business into the ground, drove his sister to complete despair, and scoffed at everyone he met. Chris knew the IRS agent had been tailing him, but he didn’t care. The damage had been done, and Chris was determined to go out with a bang. He delves deeper into his own selfish wallowing, aimlessly hitchhiking into northern Maine. Chris is left only with his lack of wits to the outdoors and a pint of whiskey to find a better situation. Fortunately, he nearly tumbles to his death chasing a mysterious hiker; a whimsical day tripper named Jim. Jim leads Chris back to his luxurious cabin to recover. Feeling restless from their hike, Jim breaks out his stash of mescaline that has been “kicking around” for awhile and the two dive head first traveling in and out of rural Maine and the abyss of Chris’ past. When Chris comes back to reality, a revelation takes place inside him; no past, no future, only presence… and Movies.
