William (James Blakely) sets off on a mission for revenge against his little sister (Makayla Rowles) after she ambushes him in the back yard. Super Soaker in hand, and still soaking wet, William approaches the back door. He peers inside at the place he knows he has to go, but it is also the exact place he’s not supposed to go. Entering will break his parents rules: no guns inside the house. And so William takes the plunge. Little does he know this mission will carry far worse consequences than who soaked who first. Inside, searching for his sister, William nearly makes it to the stairs when he hears them. Voices growing louder. Two adults fighting about something; we’re not sure what. William gets closer, curious while simultaneously knowing he needs to hide. Suddenly, his Mom (Liza de Weerd) appears, headed for the stairs when Dad (Tom Costello) cuts her off. Both are locked into their own moment when Mom’s eyes flicker, catching her son seeing the exact confrontation she didn’t want him to see. Of course, William thinks this is all about his squirt gun. Gun in hand, William makes it past his parents and into the clear, only realizing in retrospect that his escape might have been too easy. William continues on his mission, but every room reveals something new about his parents dispute, and by the time William reaches the Mop Bucket Mastermind, the game that started out playful has transitioned into something neither child could have ever anticipated.
