Details:

A sea captain’s wife is exercised over an article she reads, “Do Sailors Have Wives in Every Port?” She determines to accompany him on his trip, but he throws her and her effects off the boat as it sails away. She clings to a hawser hanging in the water, and the boat is then shown passing the various ports. In every town he has a wife and family awaiting him, and fears to make a landing, but the distracted wives swim to the ship and catch hold of the hawser. Soon there is a long string of women being towed, representing all countries, dressed in the national costumes. Finally, in despair, the captain goes ashore, closely pursued by his many wives. All but his lawful wife sink in the quicksands, and she captures the faithless husband and bears him away in triumph.
