Harry Ross, returning from a long trip taken when his wife divorced him at her father’s behest to marry Frederick Braddon, a millionaire, calls on her. She finds the old love returning and consents to fly with him. But Bleeker, the old butler, stands at the door with her child as Mildred, suitcase in hand, prepares to depart. She cannot go on. So it is Bleeker instead of Mildred who meets Ross at the hotel. Ross is given a letter, a locket and a photograph of the baby. He understands and, a broken man, leaves. |
