Susan, a very successful photographer is facing a personal, existential crisis, until her life is put upside-down, and forced to reconsider itself, taking also her profession to a turning point, when -during a sublimating, accidental trip in some gorgeous, and yet forgotten, areas of Italy- she would decide, out of instinct, to stay much longer than planned, to especially further in, her friendship with a mysterious, and deeply inspiring, small group of characters(an isolated, ex-suicidal painter, a very young, and handsome Franciscan monk, who’d proof way clever than most adults, and a woman, who seems intact, after abandoning the protests and Terrorism, following the 1968’s ideological crisis and movement, peacefully, and, in absolute simplicity, embracing hard work in the country, to feed her new loving family), eventually taking Susan, to a whole new reality, addressing how a lack of real love, but, too many unwanted compromises, and lost personal opportunities, have slowly changed her main direction, after her sudden success, and its consequential isolation, taking over even her stronger, original ideals. Quite movingly, her new ‘friends’ always with humble attitude, and, in different ways, will all accompany Susan through a true new journey of discovery, while each one of them will bring as well, some profound, unexpected turns, and, higher if apparently simple, moral lessons to the ambitious, shattered photographer, who’s now ready to face a World until then, at least, unknown to her. Susan won’t be forgetting them either, once back home in New York: in fact, she’d decide to live differently, thanks also to a series of splendid photographs, she had been taking of them, and, documenting of their unique, passionate lives.
