In order to document the light specific to 10.10.10, Ethan Turpin and Jonathan Smith used San Francisco’s TransAmerica Building as a sun dial. The goal of the day was to find and record the shadow’s point at noon within the city’s grid. In doing so they experienced a sense of the Earth’s rotation and a timeless relationship to the sun with in the bustle of a contemporary urban environment. |
