Carmen, a precocious teenager living under her abusive stepfather’s hold in Mexico, gains courage and flees the life she is slave to heading North of the Border. As her journey progresses, she meets Roberto who does not make her life any easier. Their relationship develops as both become dependent on each other to survive the desert’s cruel conditions.
