Neil, a shy repressed guy, meets the girl of his dreams, Alicia, who is gorgeous and wild. Amazingly, they begin to date and the striking contrast between their personalities provides the basis for comedic tension. Neil's embarrassing family and Alicia's crazy roommates and friends play supporting roles.

Also there is a direct-to-video sequel where Goofy has to go back to school and meeting the lovely librarian Sylvia.

The Heights centers on a fictional band (also called The Heights) made up of mostly middle-class young adults. Episodes regularly featured one of their songs.The eventual theme song for the show, "How Do You Talk to an Angel" (sung by Walters), went to number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, and was the first song from a television show to top the Hot 100 since 1985. The Heights premiered on August 27, 1992, to low ratings, and never gained a substantial audience. Fox canceled the series less than a week after the theme song fell from the number one spot.

Luv U is the story of two people who had been working together in a failed New York Police Department "sting" operation. Joey Paciorek (Greg Evigan) was a policeman, while Wanda Tallbert (Connie Sellecca) was a con woman who was working with the police only as part of an agreement which was to keep her out of prison. As the failed sting involved organized crime, when it fell through it became necessary to place both of them in the witness protection program. Posing as married couple Cody and Dani Powell, the two were placed for employment at Palm Security and Investigations in Palm Springs, California, a private detective agency owned by Matthew Durning (Earl Holliman), who was the only person outside of the government who knew who they really were. Occasionally seen during the series' run was Sonny Bono, who was at the time the real life mayor of Palm Springs.
