Details:

Journalist and author Fareed Zakaria hosts this in-depth look at the major global developments of the week (the title's "GPS" stands for "Global Public Square"), with an emphasis on new ideas and innovative solutions to the world's toughest problems. Each episode also features Zakaria leading a panel discussion and interviewing a major world figure. As the U.S. finalizes its troop withdrawal from Afghanistan after 20 years of involvement in the country, Fareed talks to former Commander of U.S. Central Command and former CIA Director Gen. David Petraeus about how the U.S. may regret the decision to pull out in a "hasty way." Then, Ada Ferrer, Professor of History at NYU, explains why it is still too early to know if the anti-government protests in Cuba will bring about change and what President Biden should do about Cuba. Plus, Gary Ginsburg, author of the new book "First Friends," tells Fareed about the defining friendships of different American presidents and how they shaped both their decision-making and personal lives. And lastly, after the shocking assassination of the President of Haiti, Jovenel Moishe, Fareed looks at the troubled history of the island nation and how it led to the current violence there.
