Having momentarily avoided the creature, Jack and Fargo find Taggart, who appears injured. Jack asks Taggart to explain what the creature is, since Taggart had been running the project that created it. Taggart, speaking somewhat incoherently, claims that his funding was cut off on the verge of the breakthrough, and says that they claimed it was too early for human trials. When questioned about this by Jack, he roars. |
