Ventress' gambling debts spiral out of control and tempt him into corruption when his debtor becomes the prime suspect for a robbery at a brewery and asks the veteran cop to become his "man on the inside". Meanwhile, Lord Ashfordly and Blaketon turn the tables on Greengrass when he is caught poaching by forcing him to become the estate's new gamekeeper.
