Me too, until the end of the episode when they get wistful and do a little sendoff. From what I’ve read, The Circus really only had one supporter at the network, and he was no longer at Showtime as of 2022, due to ‘restructuring’, whatever that means.
Circus’ 2016 coverage was amazing, as was 2020’s. Lord only knows how 2024 would have gone, but just like with Jon Stewart at the Daily Show in 2015, ending the run right before the election feels hollow.
