So many people are now fighting NOT to have children learn real history, but continue to learn the white man’s version of history, like I did. I’ve been completely absorbed with books and media about the real history of the world, especially this insane country (U.S.) I live in. I’ll have to take this in small bites, because — 3 hours — but I’m going to watch it.
In fall of 2021, the university where I work started offering Cherokee as a language. The enrollment has been light, but there is an interest in the Cherokee language. Slowly Native Americans are/have created a written language. I need to do some research and see how many universities offer a Native American language. I have Cherokee heritage and I must admit I don’t know as much of the history of the Cherokee other than the Trail of Tears trek from the east coast to Oklahoma.
