You do know this is total fiction, yes? It was the Royal Navy that captured the Enigma machines (a few of them) in 1941, and with those Alan Turing was able to create his machine that broke the initial codes. In 1942 the u-boat U-559 was taken with their codebooks intact, again by the Royal Navy, which made it possible for the British codebreakers at Bletchley Park to break the codes once more since the Germans had changed them. The Americans had nothing at all to do with it, I’m sorry to say. Still, a ripping good film!
