I was about the same age living on the coast of Humboldt County. Our small town became a hang-out for hippies. We where told not to talk or take anything from them cause it may have drugs in it..Most moved on and some stayed and did art and opened stores. Only a few years back I learned after watching another doc on Manson that the Family had made their way to The Hog Farm (Wavy Gravy) in Laytonville, Ca, Just about 50 miles from our town..
so What were the demographics at the time? All Caucasian post WWII family farms? when di ‘Drop-out’ immigration begin to the Triangle?
