Sam’s reaction was a bit strange to say the least.

I think he should have had the same reaction as Arya when she found out her aunt in the vale died. Sams father and brother didn’t die. He had forsaken the family name and lost the right to all lands and titles blabla. Not only that but his father did threaten to kill him, and he took the black cause he took that threat serious. Maybe he didn’t like the fact his brother died and that could contribute a bit to his reaction, but he should really be happy, everything that held him back is now gone and he’s free to be lord of Horn Hill.

Not only that but she also said they died refusing to bend the knee, they had an option and chose to die which she told Sam, Sam’s reaction seems to be a reaction for plot convenience. Maybe its diffrent in the books, I haven’t read any.

the books havent cought up yet john was just murdered and Stannis is still marching on winterfell plus so many sub-plots didnt make it to the tv adaptation that i dont know where to begin. but that doesnt matter i like the tv version love it even i have a stark dierwolf tatoo on my neck but that doesnt mean that if they start making fan fair episodes that have no plot like this one that remind me more of teen wolf then GOT that i will say oh man that was great…… on your point i think it fits Sams character how he reacted he is the kind of guy that would still cry for his dickhead father and his Dickon brother but the writing didnt have the same fell to it and knowing how much they didnt adapt from the book it makes me angry that 6 episodes left we get cheap fan fair insted of plot or character development
