Did you all watch through the closing credits? If not, you missed a special guest appearance by someone! The guest appearance isn’t at the beginning of the credits but about half way through the closing credits. It sometimes pays to watch the credits.
I do agree that is was a bit cheesy and I didn’t care for the Maxwell Lord character at all. It seemed that a lot of movies in the 80’s were a bit cheesy but I don’t think the director of this movie had that in mind when she set out to direct this movie. Special affects and cgi were spot on and who doesn’t like looking at Chris Pine!
