Could not agree with you more! It seems that are pulling a stargate. Back when stargate the series appeared on showtime the first season didnt have much in the way of gore but it had skin and swearing. Then second season came along and zero swearing or skin and the over all violence was toned down. Went that way until season 5 then moved to scifi channel before the moniker change to syfy. Looks like this is following that model sadly.
