This makes the 4th big budget female assassin movie that came out just this year. Gunpowder Milkshake, Black Widow, the Protege and now this. All have A-list actors with same revenge plot and protagonist having to deal with tragic past that led them to kill. The stereotypical tropes became painfully obvious seeing how they came out so close together. Having said that, I actually enjoyed this more than those I mentioned because of the setting, stylish cinematography and being a huge fan of Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Woody Harrelson. Very entertaining with great action, but nothing new.
I was thinking that it sounded pretty much like a “yeah, been there, seen that before” kind of a film. You could also stick this year’s “Jolt” (with Kate Beckinsale) under that same basic premise.
