I think this was misnamed, it really should be called Star Trek Burnham. I watch this only because this is where the franchise has landed. Very PC. The crew spend too much time being in touch with their respective sensitive sides. Dare I say it but like a lot of these great old stories it has been usurped in the usual way which I don’t need to spell out. Come back Jim, Spock and Bones :)
Overall it is a good watch as it is high budget and the special effects are solid.
I’m looking forward to the next completely new iteration of Star Trek.
Agree! Far too much emphasis on emotional processing at the expense of plot and narrative. Admire the tech and effects and general whizz-bang nature of it all, but doubt will be rewatching DISC for decades to come, as with 90’s era Trek and TOS. Also looking forward to SNW.
