I enjoyed the film but if the duel was in 1386, how did Jean die in the crusades “years later”?
Good question. The Tenth Crusade—AKA the Final Crusade or sack of Alexandria—began in 1365. Jean died at the Siege of Nicopolis in Bulgaria. Ottomans were involved but it was no crusade.
