The Blacklist (2013) S8 E21
YgraineDance 2 points 2 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

I love the show, but I’m pretty fair tired of the big tease.

If this thing were to go for a zillion seasons, I would STILL not be able to fathom why everything revolves around lackluster Keen. She just isn’t engaging, and never has been.

Battledogs (2013)
YgraineDance 1 points 2 years ago.

I’ve seen worse from Asylum. This one had a decent story, and eerily (since this was from 2013) had characters talking about the virus as a global pandemic, and the big one back in 1917/18.

The producers were able to get several pretty well-known actors, which surprised me. All in all, it wasn’t terrible. The beasts kind of reminded me of the ones in The Killer Shrews from back in the day.

Loki (2021) S1 E1
YgraineDance 6 points 2 years ago.

This was fun! Once again Marvel brings the quality—-the acting, the sets, effects, and music all meld to create what appears to be a topnotch-can’t-miss. Very engaging; I’ll be following this one.

DC's Legends of Tomorrow (2016) S6 E5
YgraineDance 1 points 2 years ago.

Now THAT was a really creative episode! Very imaginative. There are some very clever writers behind this series:-D

Jarhead 3: The Siege (2016)
YgraineDance 3 points 2 years ago.

Lots and lots (and lots!) of mayhem here. I love Adkins in everything, and he had a different kind of role in this film from his usual one(s). He’s still badass, though;-) There’s a closing-credits epilogue to watch for.

Vengeance Unlimited (1998)
YgraineDance 3 points 3 years ago.

I loved this back in the day. The other poster is correct, Madsen killed it here. I look forward to a re-watch of the series.

Pit Fighter (2008)
YgraineDance 1 points 3 years ago.

This movie had many positive reviews, but I wasn’t quite feeling it. Others will certainly enjoy it. Lots of expert fighting sequences, but also lots of graphic stuff too. Adkins has a bit part; the main stars are Bauer and Vandenberg.

A Black Lady Sketch Show (2019)
YgraineDance 0 points 3 years ago.

Sometimes this hilarious show just has me howling. There’s some top-notch writing here, establishing a series-long running backstory we’re following that then connects several witty skits all in each loaded half-hour. Since it’s on HBO, the language is often quite adult, seriously funny, and very true to life.

I only wish the great Amber Ruffin was in with this group too, as she has the comedic chops for it but is saddled with what I feel is a sometimes (but not always) tepid offering on Peacock. Ruffin would be great with Thede’s bunch.

Accident Man (2018)
YgraineDance 2 points 3 years ago.

Liked it! Lots of humorous lines in the film, especially in Adkins’s running narrative. He’s an excellent actor, and of course a phenomenal martial artist, and he’s selected highly skilled, dynamic costars to make this one of his best IMO. I have a real treat ahead, as I have his Boyka movies in my watchlist. Popcorn ready!

Deadly Whispers (1995)
YgraineDance 2 points 3 years ago.

This is one from the 90s I’ve never seen before, and it’s quite good. The story takes place in West Virginia, a locale we don’t often see in films. Some powerhouse performances here IMO, and the musical score was lovely to listen to…lots of strings. I thought this was a surprisingly good watch.

Deadly Second Chances (2020)
nursepip 2 points 3 years ago.

only ‘one of the few’? (chuckling)I feel that way for most of them. Seriously though, do you have any recommendations for Lifetimish thrillers/mysteries/suspense where ya don’t want to slap them all?

YgraineDance 2 points 3 years ago*.

I absolutely love the “Dr. Beck” movies. “Stalked by my Doctor” is the first one. I think there are like 5 of these in the franchise now. Roberts is a crazy delight in all of them. (The first four have “Stalked” in the title, but the fifth is called “Just What the Doctor Ordered.”)

Deadly Second Chances (2020)
YgraineDance 4 points 3 years ago.

This is one of a few Lifetime movies I’ve watched in which I’d like to line up nearly every single character and slap them repeatedly until they pass out. Particularly one of them, and if you watch this, I’ll bet you can guess who I’m referring to. Ugh.

Debt Collectors (2020)
YgraineDance 1 points 3 years ago.

These two make a quirky team, and experience a LOT of trouble in their line of business. So far there are two movies in the franchise; I wonder if they’re considering making more.

The Equalizer (2021) S1 E10
YgraineDance 4 points 3 years ago.

I liked this finale. Sets things up for a fascinating turn of events next season. The show has become one of my faves, due to Latifah, her team, and the cop who is trying hard to find himself. Well done.

Tracking a Killer (2021)
YgraineDance 1 points 3 years ago.

I liked that it was difficult to suss out a villain early on in this one. Also, the movie was filmed in Oklahoma, not the usual Los Angeles or Vancouver setting.

Last Week Tonight with John Oliver (2014) S8 E13
YgraineDance 5 points 3 years ago*. (Contains Spoilers)

And he’s punked them so very well LMAO. Go to the professional-looking, but unadulterated-BS website. Toooo good!

F9: The Fast Saga (2021)
UGuess 3 points 3 years ago*.

Well I guess I’m forever hopeless too and I love it!!! We must automatically be in this invisible club for eternity (LOL)

YgraineDance 2 points 3 years ago.

😁😎

Aquarium of the Dead (2021)
YgraineDance 1 points 3 years ago.

Ooey gooey Asylum dreadful deliciousness!

“They’re coming to take me away haha hoho heehee!!!…to the funny farm where life is beautiful all the time.” :-D

F9: The Fast Saga (2021)
Researcher 0 points 3 years ago.

Me too, Ygraine! High five?

YgraineDance 4 points 3 years ago.

High five yep yep! I forgot to add, I like trains and funiculars too. There’s no hope for me LOL LOL

The Fanatic (2020)
YgraineDance 1 points 3 years ago.

It’s a very dark comedy of sorts. Reminds me of something they’d do on “Into the Dark”—and IMO this film would have been stronger if they had kept the runtime to maybe 60 minutes instead of expanding it to an hour and a half.

Batwoman (2019) S2 E14
UGuess 4 points 3 years ago.

If he… I’m going to be so pissed. This is best season of batwoman. A complete 180. They must have different writers or something

YgraineDance 5 points 3 years ago.

You know, I wondered that too. I remember posting way back at the beginning about how tiresome and insipid the Alice storyline seemed, but this season they’ve turned that around and made her part the most interesting, even overshadowing the Bat. A lot still needs work, but it does seem as if someone’s trying (at last).

Mommy's Deadly Con Artist (2021)
YgraineDance 1 points 3 years ago.

A sequel to another recent movie (“Deceived by my Mother-in-Law”). Looks like they are aiming to make a franchise with this character, just as they’ve done with Eric Roberts’ fun “Dr. Beck” series. In fact, Roberts has a small part in this film, not as Beck but as a different doctor. And Hillis once more gets to go shirtless, which is always very nice;-)

The Blacklist (2013) S8 E17
YgraineDance 0 points 3 years ago*.

Townsend sure can run his mouth. 🙄

Killer Concept (2021)
YgraineDance 1 points 3 years ago.

A strange little low-budget picture. Not sure if others will like it, but I watched to the end, mostly out of curiosity. Watch for yourself and decide what you make of it

Death Saved My Life (2021)
YgraineDance 1 points 3 years ago.

One particular plot point/twist fooled me - and that’s kind of unusual for a Lifetime thriller, so good on ‘em. Pretty interesting watch IMO.

Ebola Rex (2021)
YgraineDance 2 points 3 years ago.

I see some of the same names here in the opening credits that were in the previous craziness I watched just now (“Apex Predator”) so I’m guessing maybe the same outfit made these…?

I go bravely forward - we who are about to die (viewing this insanity) salute you! I’m going in; if my brain rots, this is definitely why. 😉

Apex Predators (2021)
YgraineDance 0 points 3 years ago.

I knew better, but I watched this anyway. 😝 Very short runtime, non-actors all over the place, and side characters there for little to no reason all make for a really schlocky outing. Intentional though, I think. Someone please explain the conclusion to me.

Locked In (2021)
YgraineDance 0 points 3 years ago.

Not great. Too many of the (usual) foolish choices propelling the plot along. Watchable if you’re bored, I guess.

The Blacklist (2013) S8 E16
YgraineDance 0 points 3 years ago*.

So very convoluted now! Not even fun….

The Blacklist (2013) S8 E14
YgraineDance 0 points 3 years ago.

Ridiculous character, total waste of space and precious time on “the Keen’s eye view.”

Trigger Point (2021)
YgraineDance 1 points 3 years ago.

So…a sequel will be forthcoming…? I guess?

The Flash (2014) S7 E8
joshmajor1987 4 points 3 years ago.

This was just painful to watch…..The Flash was probably my favorite show on these days and now it’s turned into whatever this is!! Just sad Lol If your a fan of the series I’d skip this one and the last 7 haha

YgraineDance 2 points 3 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

Yeah, this show has gotten pretty bad, but Supergirl’s writing is a lot worse as it nears the end. I thought the Frost story was kind of decent this episode. Still miss the stretchy man, though. :-(

The Equalizer (2021) S1 E7
YgraineDance 5 points 3 years ago.

I really like Latifah in this role. She sells it as the caring, concerned helper of the helpless, who brings her very special expertise to the streets to do good things. Her team is as skilled as she is, and their dialogue is well written and is fun to follow. Good show to look forward to each week.

Rise of the Mummy (2021)
YgraineDance 1 points 3 years ago.

I was warned, but I watched it anyway. Yikes!

Ape vs. Monster (2021)
YgraineDance 1 points 3 years ago.

Yep Asylum brings the loony fun once more:)

Just What the Doctor Ordered (2021)
YgraineDance 4 points 3 years ago.

LOVE this crazy Dr. Beck franchise!! Eric Roberts is at his scene-chewing best, never taking it too seriously. So much fun! 😁

Chicago P.D. (2014) S8 E11
PonderThis 2 points 3 years ago*.

What a good episode and gut wrenching too and I can relate too. What happens to us as children can shape us into the adults we become. Some follow the same path that of their parent(s) or they go in a different direction. I, along with my brother chose a different path and are fighters and stronger adults.

YgraineDance 2 points 3 years ago.

Good for you for finding your way through. That takes so much work and strength. Blessings to you both.

Hudson & Rex (2019) S3 E16
chantal 4 points 3 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

I am glade that Rex is coming back. I watch it on my computer every week i love the dog REX.

YgraineDance 2 points 3 years ago*.

Me too. He has so much personality! This is another sweet, interesting Canadian show (such as Murdoch, Frankie Drake, The Listener, Republic of Doyle, Motive, Arctic Air, lots more) that always entertains and takes the viewer to places we don’t usually get to see.) Glad this one will return:)

Sharks of the Corn (2021)

My kinda craptacular:) Oh yeah I gotta watch this nutsiness lol

The Falcon and The Winter Soldier (2021) S1 E6

Great series; right up there in quality, actors, and story with “The Boys.” I hope there is more—-I love the new Capt.

Dead Air (2021)
YgraineDance 2 points 3 years ago.

Another movie I’ve watched recently That makes some sense along the way, until the unnecessarily odd ending. Plot exposition drags a lot in the middle.

The Terminal Man (1974)
YgraineDance 2 points 3 years ago.

Great chilling story; leaves you thinking long after.

Killer Advice (2021)
YgraineDance 1 points 3 years ago.

Meredith Thomas does top-notch Lifetime movie nuts. :-)

I could make sense of the entire story, until that ending.

The Blacklist (2013) S8 E8
StarWhisper 1 points 3 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

I’ve been wondering why Keen hasn’t been on the show for several episodes, has anybody heard the real reason? … and regarding that plot line of Keen trying to kill Reddington, that just makes no sense, if Red is supposedly dying anyway. What is the point of killing a dying man??

YgraineDance 1 points 3 years ago.

You’re right, the entire plotline is senseless and has been since the ‘Rostova” timewasting arc. I have no idea where the Keen actress is; maybe pregnant IRL and taking time out…? I sure don’t miss her. At all.

McDonald & Dodds (2020)
dw99 0 points 3 years ago.

There’s no reason to compare this (“nothing of that caliber”) to the four somber mysteries you mentioned; it was apparent right away that this wasn’t that sort of show.

This is a cozy — a lighthearted murder mystery, like Midsomer Murders, New Tricks, Brokenwood, etc. It’s a totally different genre, so this needs to be judged by different criteria.

YgraineDance 1 points 3 years ago.

Yep. And I do follow Brokenwood btw. I’ll still judge this as I see fit. One year in now; I had no idea it was even returning; still not feeling the “lighthearted” vibe you’re getting…but who knows?
