The Forbidden Kingdom (2008)
TisOnlyMe 3 points 2 years ago.

I LOVE this movie, watch it regularly, it’s one of my favourites! It’s one of those films that are pretty much perfect, you couldn’t change a scene or make a cut, it’s complete as it is. Good story, excellent cast, i mean Jackie Chan AND Jet Li together, so there are fabulous fight scenes, Wonderful costumes, sets, landscapes and music, it’s not just a GREAT movie, it’s also GREAT FUN and certainly a flick you could watch with your kids.. or not! Escape your humdrum Existence for 1h 40m and venture into a world of fantasy.. Seeya there.. Yay!! :))x

Enola Holmes (2020)
TisOnlyMe 3 points 3 years ago.

Hey, i’m surprised and very happy to finally see a Netflix movie that ticks all the boxes and comes out with a solid 5 stars. Usually i find NF flicks too violent, too short on script, too colour-saturated, i’m not a huge fan of NF and often feel they’re destroying the movie-business simply by being so damn rich! ‘ENOLA HOLMES’ however is a total gem of a film, starring Millie Bobbie Brown (who i finally realised is the girl from ‘STRANGER THINGS’..) Wow she’s grown up and turned into a very fine young actress. There’s a good storyline, a great cast including Helena Bonham-Carter, the whole thing, everything was ‘just right’ making a fully satisfying movie-experience, Brava! At 123 mins it’s fairly long but the story didn’t drag at all. I thoroughly recommend this one if you feel like a ripping good yarn! 5 STARS :))x

Well, for starters, it can get some random guy muted, say me for example, for posting what he thought was quite a hilarious quotation ( from a firebrand tent revival sermon he was forced to attend in his youth ) on this site, one he thought was so ridiculous and obviously so silly that no one would take it seriously. My bad, apologies all around.

AHH, but you didn’t make it clear you were quoting a fire-brand sermon IRONICALLY, so it appeared that your comment was actually SERIOUS. i read it before it was deleted and was looking for the punchline but there was none so it seemed like you meant what you were saying.. it came across as quite nasty in fact which is why i reckon it was deleted from above. Still it livened up the debate on this thread somewhat.. “Ah, the sweet smell of CONTROVERSY in the morning!” Now, where did i put that pipe.. Heh-Heh.. Evil weed indeed! :))x

Revolution (1968)

“EXPOSED! The WEIRD RITES of the HIPPIES” Yikes, i guess there was stuff they never told us about at the time.. will have to watch this to find out what secrets i missed out on! Or maybe i’ll just drop another tab instead, he-he.. :))x

Bill Bailey: Dandelion Mind (TV Special 2010) (2010)
TisOnlyMe 4 points 3 years ago.

This guy is simply brilliant. Every time i watch one of his videos i’m impressed by his wit, wisdom and sense of humour, plus he’s an amazing musician. I’d recommend this if you’re in the mood for some light-hearted English silliness! Enjoy :))x

A Discovery of Witches (2018)
TisOnlyMe 4 points 3 years ago.

Wow, a new season of ‘a DISCOVERY of WITCHES’.. finally! I’d pretty much forgotten about this show even though S1 was good, only 10 eps and then it was over, until now. I shall be interested to see how the story develops..FINALLY! :))x

i can’t get ublock origin for Safari, just adblock plus which doesn’t stop much it seems!

Debris (2021) S1 E1
TisOnlyMe 3 points 3 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

DEBRIS.. it’s like FRINGE but without any of the good characters! I thought the the music was pretty good myself, atmospheric without being intrusive, worked for me. A fair opener but i don’t feel gripped yet by the story or the characters, so we’ll have to see where it goes.. :))x

Arrival (2016)
TisOnlyMe 3 points 4 years ago.

An extraordinary SF movie starring Amy Adams as a language expert. The film unfolds slowly, you might call it understated, it leaves you with a feeling of serenity. It reminded me of Jodie Foster’s wonderful ‘CONTACT’ only with much less action.. I thought ‘ARRIVAL’ was rather special, really enjoyed it.. Thanks for the upload :))x

I’m tired of hearing about the biggest this, and the best that.
I mean, how many Biggest Political Scandal’s in U.S. History can there be?
Poor Trump. Oh, woe is him. Here’s a couple of superlatives for ya:
The whiniest, richest, victim I’ve ever heard of. Okay, that’s the same superlative.
Just sayin’.
And people who have to announce that their story is “ the actual truth with no spin” are spinning big time.
Oh, and Devin Nunes, another whiny ass who uncovered nothing but his true colors, can go fk himself.

TisOnlyMe 3 points 3 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

HEAR-HEAR, well said. Did you know that the 50 richest Americans own as much wealth as the lowest 165 million? So much for the American dream and indeed for DEMOCRACY. ..and when the median cost of hospitalisation for CV is @ $40,000 (Trump’s recent trip to hospital, paid for by the taxpayer natch, would’ve cost $100,000) well, a country that doesn’t care for it’s own is hardly a model to be proud of. America is broken and Trump sure ain’t the solution.. he’s just another greedy, corrupt and EVIL white-man and if you don’t get rid of him now he may well end up IN POWER FOR LIFE like Putin and several other current dictator/ despots. GOD BLESS AMERICA and save you all from such a fate!

Fringe (2008)
TisOnlyMe 3 points 3 years ago.

With all the recents posts comparing DEBRIS with FRINGE i decided to go back and watch the pilot of FRINGE again, just to re-remind myself. I watched the show when it originally aired, week-by-painful-week, filled with anticipation as we all were, waiting to see what would happen next. It was exciting TV at the time.

For me the essential story was the first 3 series, they could’ve just ended it there with simply an extra 5 minutes to tie it all up. After that it seemed unnecessary to continue and i lost interest during S4, not sure if i ever saw the conclusion. Since then i re-watched those 3 series once a few years ago. I just started with the pilot again 2 weeks ago, then watched all of S1 in a weekend, all 20 eps! What i’m finding is that Series 1 was amazing, DEBRIS isn’t a patch on FRINGE for story. Just in the pilot of FRINGE alone we’re introduced to 4 strong central characters and several strong secondary recurring characters.. that’s just in ep1. In DEBRIS after 3 eps there’s still only the 2 main characters and maybe some others, but i can’t remember the names even of the main ones.. there’s no-one like Walter Bishop to move things along with a smile!

Series 1 is the best really, i’m over halfway through S2 at this time and have noticed several ‘filler’ eps in it, that are just weird stuff but not even connected to ‘the pattern’, a lot of S2 lacks that focus after the definite baddie, Mr Jones, in S1. The whole thing reminds me a lot in retrospect of ‘THE X FILES’ which you’d have to say is it’s direct genetic forebear. Personally i hated XF and both Agents Scully and Muldaur, one smug one annoying.. gad how i hated that prog! Still FRINGE has a lot of similarities, weird happenings etc. It really is the characters of Walter and Peter, Olivia and Astrid the lab assistant, it’s their HUMANITY which i find sets this prog apart from others like it. You can’t help but like these people and want to cheer them on! DEBRIS by comparison, into ep 4 and i don’t even care anymore.. that’s the big difference!

Anyway, i’m still ploughing my way through S2, still in LOCKDOWN so i might as well and if you haven’t watched FRINGE yet yerself, give it a go, it’s a lot better than most of what’s being made now imho.
Sorry to go on,,THANKS :))x

A MESSAGE TO WHOEVER IT IS THAT UPLOADS THESE OLD MOVIES.. Posting on Clipwatching and Aparat is frankly an unkindness to viewers like myself.. i can NEVER watch ANY of these interesting old flicks you post here. CLIPWATCHING.com says “Disable ADBLOCK in order to continue viewing”.. i tried that 2 yrs ago but it still says the same message and won’t open try as i might. APARAT.com is just a hog-fest of unwanted ads which come cascading at you when you try to connect in spite of ADBLOCK, and they keep on coming even after you close them, too frustrating to manage actually watching the movie, i’ve NEVER managed to watch ANY of the movies you kindly posted here on these IMPOSSIBLE links. PLEASE NOTE, OTHER CLEANER LINKS REQUIRED FOR EVERYTHING YOU POSTED like EVER! MIXDROP or DOOD or some of the others work fine in spite of their pop-ups which can easily be dealt with.. When i see CLIPWATCHING and APARAT listed my heart just sinks as i know they won’t work.. PLEASE could you find suitable alternatives. I KNOW.. i should ask for links elsewhere but this is something different, a GENERAL PLEA for better connections. UPLOADERS, HUGE RESPECT for all your efforts on our behalf, helping to keep everyone sane through these difficult times, but Please NB! THANKS :((x

The Dry (2021)
TisOnlyMe 3 points 3 years ago.

Reading the synopsis above i realised i actually read the book ‘The DRY’ a couple of years ago. I took it out of the library, it’s set in Australia. I don’t usually read Australian fiction but it was a good story so hopefully they’ll have made it into a decent film.. will have to try watching it later. Keep cold drinks handy when watching this, you’ve been warned! Thankyou uploaders :))x

Finding You (2021)
TisOnlyMe 3 points 2 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

“FINDING YOU” is an enjoyable young romance set in Carlingford in lovely Ireland. It’s not a bad story and has an impressive performance from Vanessa Redgrave as a crotchety old lady. It’s about 15 mins longer than it needed to be but if you like a romance and if you like Ireland it’s a winner! I enjoyed it anyway :))x

Resident Alien (2021) S1 E1
Frac -7 points 3 years ago.

yawn, not funny, bad acting.. I wanted to like it tho 2/5

TisOnlyMe 3 points 3 years ago.

You should really give RESIDENT ALIEN another chance Frac, i just re-watched ep1 as i’m impatiently awaiting ep2 and i find it smart and very funny. Sure it’s tongue-in-cheek and weird, who knows where the story will go, but it’s def one of the best new progs i’ve come across recently. I guess it’s all down to personal taste, things you find amusing others might not etc, but it feels like this series could be a fun ride! Just saying :))x

The Ghost and Mrs. Muir (1947)
TisOnlyMe 3 points 4 years ago.

I’m so glad i finally had a chance to see this old classic b&w movie. Gene Tierney is so beautiful in this, lovely acting and Rex Harrison is very dashing as the captain. A sweet old-fashioned story, sentimental and nostalgic, perfect for watching on a rainy afternoon! Really enjoyed it, thanks for posting it here :))x

Good Ol' Freda (2013)
TisOnlyMe 2 points 2 years ago.

Anyone who likes the Beatles ought to watch this. Freda ran the Beatles fan club and was a key figure from the days of the Cavern right through their career. I watched this a few years ago and enjoyed it.. very interesting,, Recommended :))x

Charlie Bartlett (2008)
TisOnlyMe 2 points 2 years ago.

‘CHARLIE BARTLETT’ is a Brilliant feelgood little movie i’d never heard of till a friend recommended it the other day. The lovely sad-departed Anton Yelchin here with Kat Dennings and Robert Downey Jr.. it’s a film that has a spring in it’s step you could say, good-humoured. Enjoyable :))x

Like Father (2018)
TisOnlyMe 2 points 2 years ago.

A very sweet, funny film with KELSEY GRAMMAR and KRISTEN BELL as an estranged father and daughter who end up on a cruise together. Heart-warming and fun it’s an enjoyable ride if you fancy some light entertainment, I really enjoyed it! THANKS :))x

The Big Bang Theory (2007)
TisOnlyMe 2 points 3 years ago.

While everyone else here is lamenting the conclusion of BBT i’ve just finished watching the 1st series after putting it off for, well the past 13 years! People used to encourage me to watch it but for some reason i thought it was a sketch show so i didn’t bother as i don’t care for comics much. Thought i’d watch the pilot recently and have to say i Love the show, it’s hilarious and totally addictive once you get into it. I look forward to, gulp, the next 11 seasons + specials.. Jeepers, should keep me going till Christmas at a rate of 1 or 2 eps each day! Anyway, Brilliant show, SO glad i finally came to realise and appreciate it’s charms.. Sheldon really is one of comedy’s finest inventions! Thanks Uploaders :))x

Season 2, Yay, DELIGHTED!! :))x

Trollhunters: Tales of Arcadia (2016)
TisOnlyMe 2 points 3 years ago.

I’d forgotten about TROLLHUNTERS. It was a good first series but i lost interest somewhere in the 2nd, didn’t even know there was a 3rd. It was Anton Yelchin’s last role before his tragic death, far too young. Still it’s Kelsey Grammar who steals the show with his character, even though it’s only voice-over! GREAT family entertainment and very funny in places :))x

Torchy the Battery Boy (1956)
Canuckian 4 points 2 years ago.

LMFAO! No doubt! I have never heard of this old show being i was born in the mid 70’s but the synopsis here seems totally “far out”! Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds indeed! LOL

TisOnlyMe 2 points 2 years ago.

I know right! I can still remember and sing the theme tune too.. i was 5, they got me young.. i never recovered man :))x!

Fringe (2008) S2 E16
TisOnlyMe 2 points 3 years ago.

FINALLY the underlying truth comes out, after 36 episodes! Most of S2 up to here has been ‘filler’ stories tbh, a lot of it nothing to do with ‘the pattern’ we heard so much about in S1. I like FRINGE a lot but they really stretched out the main story with a lot of episodic ‘weird science’ stories. Anyway i’m pushing on with a slow binge of review.. LOCKDOWN has proven ideal for re-watching old favourites! :))x

Your Lie in April (2016)
TisOnlyMe 2 points 3 years ago.

This is interesting, there was an anime of this same story released in Oct 2014 which i watched at the time and enjoyed ‘SHIGATSU wa KIMI no USO’. Didn’t know there was a real-people version as well though. A sad but uplifting story i recall.. may well give this movie a watch some quiet evening. THANKS PW, always something new to surprise and entertain us :))x

Rubinrot (2013)
TisOnlyMe 2 points 3 years ago.

Hey, i watched RUBINROT last night and really enjoyed it. Good story, young people, time-travel, costume-drama, mystery and intrigue.. just the ticket for a Sunday night! Only trouble was, come the end i wanted more, a whole series more would’ve been perfect. This 2hr movie would’ve been the ideal pilot ep for a longer project, sure these days NF would make it into a series. Anyway, tis a good ‘ripping yarn’, worth a watch if you like family entertainment :))x

Country at Heart (2020)
TisOnlyMe 2 points 3 years ago.

Aww shucks folks.. a brand new Hallmark ‘Country Music’ movie! The star is Jessy Schram, who i find quite likeable in this kind of film, she always comes across as genuine, Lucas Bryant is alright too, they work well together. It’s the usual Hallmark kinda story, would it be too much of a spoiler to say it has a happy ending? Actually quite Joyous. The songs aren’t amazing but the story’s OK. If you fancy watching a fluffy, romantic movie this should do the trick! :))x

Shetland (2013) S4 E6
TisOnlyMe 2 points 3 years ago.

Wow! This series has been amazing from the start. i have to say season 4 was a helluva story, this final ep was quite a ride, very dramatic. Compelling narrative, beautifully filmed and edited, fabulous Shetland scenery.. it all amounts to some very classy TV. Excellent :))x

To Your Eternity (2021)

Book of Love (2022)
TisOnlyMe 2 points 2 years ago.

I got bored with ‘the Book of Love’ quick enough. It needs a young Hugh Grant to play the feckless Englishman, with a twinkle in his eye. The actor playing the Englishman here has no twinkle sadly. Also it’s a shame there’s no Subs as a lot of the dialogue’s in Spanish. Maybe it gets better later but the lead actor just doesn’t have the juice somehow to make the story credible for me. He has the charisma of a dry twig. Pity, the storyline sounds like fun but it isn’t well realised. Could’ve been better, disappointing :((x

Julia (1974)

I don’t think that its that simple mate. Aparat works fine for me, as does Clipwatching MOST of the time. Other people have issues with Mixdrop and Doodwatch. I have no problems with ANY of them at present. Not sure WHY that is. Only site that NEVER works is that Streamz nonsense for me and that’s the ONLY site that has EVER told me to turn off adblock. Maybe try some different adblock extensions or a different browser maybe? Give Ublock a go. Best of luck mate. I understand your frustration and you have my sympathy.

TisOnlyMe 2 points 3 years ago.

Hah isn’t it funny how these things work for some people and not for others! Maybe it depends on which part of the world you’re in.. Drag for me as a lot of old foreign movies just appear here on Clip and Aparat and i can’t seem to use either. I’ll try to find UBlock.. I’ve even successfully used Streamz occasionally, see.. Funny!! Thanks for your reply anyhow, yeah i just got a wee fit of frustration at yet another movie i won’t be able to watch :))x

The Christmas Waltz (2020)

Awww shucks, this is really nice if you fancy some Hallmark Christmas schmooze! Lacey Chabert stars and there are some good dance sequences, i enjoyed it :))x

Fit for a Prince (2021)
TisOnlyMe 2 points 3 years ago.

Modern-day version of Cinderella (kinda), made-for-TV, starring people you will not already know. Dewy-eyed and romantic, even mushy, it’s a perfect flick to while away the blues, if mushy-eyed romance is your thing of course! It was OK, quite sweet actually, they were sincere, i like that.. helped pass some time anyway.. Enjoy! :))x

Mystic (2020)
TisOnlyMe 2 points 3 years ago.

MYSTIC is a young-adult drama about a girl from London whose Mum relocates them to New Zealand after the death of her Father. Her Life soon becomes centred on the local stable, wild horses and coming to terms with the other local kids. Think teenage girls and horses and that’s about it! It’s quite a good series and i enjoyed the storyline, sadly the series just stops after 8 eps saying ‘To Be Continued’, maybe the Lockdown interfered with filming. Anyhow if a Pony-Club drama fits your fancy, ta-da, here it is! : ))x

Astrid et Raphaëlle (2019)
TisOnlyMe 2 points 3 years ago.

Hey, this is a really good French detective series, ASTRID et RAPHAELLE. Very interesting characters, Sara Mortenson is excellent playing Astrid, who’s autistic and works in the criminal records dept. Lola Dewaere is Raphaelle the cop, together they form a team, it’s a good story. Only 8 eps, i enjoyed them all and can only hope there’s another series. 5 stars, Recommended for anyone who likes French drama with subs :))x

Wow this sounds like a hoot! Gotta love that auld Jade Empress though, hatching a plan for world domination eh.. i wonder if her scheme includes releasing a deadly virus that’ll destroy the rest of the world’s economy and make everybody too scared to go out.. now there’s a story, but who’d believe it! Hah! :))x
