Enjoyed this very much. Great addition to the Trolls Franchise.

Dickinson (2019)
moongoddess 2 points 2 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

While this adaptation is barely ‘historically accurate’ I find the plot much more in a metaphorical morbid tale. The writers seemed to adapt season 2 according to the writings, notes, and ‘rewritten letters’ in the written historical account of Em’s brother’s mistress, Mabel. In actual historical documentation, Mabel, is the mistress who paints Em and Sue’s relationship as tumultuously cold, rigid, and in a battle to do ethically and societal correctness. But their true relationship, Em’s and Sue’s, was nothing but warm, kind, and loving.

The Reapers presence is a hoot. The viewer needs to quickly differentiate between Emily’s reality vs her internal self doubting minds discussions (the reaper). Hence why she did go a bit ‘mad’ in reality and was a recluse because of her self doubt and lack of self worth. It is from Emily’s good vs evil introspection we see where her rebellious, opinionated, expressiveness comes from that is written within her poetic works of art.

I’m looking forward to season 3.

Raya and the Last Dragon (2021)
moongoddess 2 points 2 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

Absolute brilliant story about TRUST in family, neighbors, people who have done you wrong the first time, or, ten thousandth time. I was a blubbering wet eyed mess throughout the film. A giggle here and there, especially ninja criminal baby Noi. Raya(RYE’eh), was a perfect blend of all the totems: Dream, Courage, Love, Hope, Humanity, Destiny, Truth. Best Disney film in a long time, no singing or dancing (a la Mulan). Nothing but pure Emotional and lovable story.

I read a comment below from a person who felt there was a lot of bullying in the film. Well, there is a lot of bullying in all Disney films, and, all other Hollywood films, too. The message Disney was, and, always has conveyed is, ‘Stand up to Bully’s. Be yourself and you will overcome and conquer your fears. And liked by those who believe in you.

In the end, why not toss the staff in with her in case she could use it wherever she was headed…

moongoddess 2 points 2 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

Maybe the staff is what will continue to link her to this side of the universe, most likely. As long as the staff is on this side and is aware she’s in danger it will begin to heal faster. Someone on this side of universe is also going to need to be a physical anchor for the staff. I doubt it’ll be Mike, he is tinkering with S.T.R.I.P.E and I have a suspicion he’ll end up flying it since he’s been ‘repairing’ it. The anchor, I suspect, might me ‘mom’. I could be wrong. Maybe Pat controls STRIPE while Mike becomes the staff anchor? Guess we will have to wait and see during the next few episodes.

Description sounds like Vermont. I’ll pass.

moongoddess 2 points 2 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

LMAO, what’s wrong with Vermont? It wasn’t filmed in Vermont at all. It was filmed in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

‘Vermont should be beautiful this time of year, With all that snow.’(quote from White Christmas, in case you young whippersnappers don’t get the connection).

Cyrano (2022)
moongoddess 2 points 2 years ago.

A fantastic Off-Broadway Musical interpretation of a Classic and Epic tale that was originally a stage play and happens to be 125 years old this year. I can still picture Kevin Kline with his outstanding portrayal as Cyrano, and, Jennifer Gardner, as Roxanne. I need to revisit that ol’ PBS Great Performances made for tv adaptation which sticks more solidly to the original written script than this musical adaptation did. Which I totally understand. Even movies adapted from books take creative liberties.

A Midsummer Night's Dream (1981)
moongoddess 2 points 2 years ago.

Glad I got to revisit this very adaptation. Last I saw this version I was sitting in a college classroom. Yep, it was an English Department College Course taught by a Shakespeare Scholar. I think I was half way through this movie before realizing why it was so familiar to me. I truly enjoy a lot of classic Shakespeare adaptations from centuries ago to present. I’ve read quite a few of his Folio’s. Not All, yet.

Vikings: Valhalla (2022) S1 E1

And, they did come to North America about one thousand years ago.
Settled in Newfoundland, eh.

moongoddess 2 points 2 years ago.

There’s also archeological evidence they were as far south as what is known today as New York. I believe that a sunken ship or 2 is part of the ground that built Manhattan Island. Just not clear on if they were sunk in that location, or, moved from other locations and used as part of the base for the scrap heap that is cemented under the subway system, and, other underground tunnel systems throughout Manhattan. Historical finds are always intriguing. Never know what you may find when diggin’ up mother earth, or, snorkling her oceans.

Goodbye Good Witch, Grey House, and Merriwick’s. This TV series has been a magical 7 years. Actually, it’s been a full 13 years when including the 7 Good Witch Movies which began in 2008. I wish all the actors and actresses all the best on their next adventure’s and journey’s.

5 more episodes till end of the supergirl show. I caught a ‘finale easter egg’ in this episode. ‘Truth’ be told, it will be the end of Nyxly when Esme finally has a grasp of her powers and will reign wrath on Nyxly, bringing her to her knees.

And ahem, what was that ‘Hunger games’ scene at the end? LMAO. SMH. Or more like, who sent that gift ‘a la hunger games way’?

Tom & Jerry (2021)
moongoddess 2 points 2 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

This was a great movie. At first it started out a bit slow, stale, but, it finally picked up speed and featured more T&J antics, including them getting along, even though they really never do.

I can’t believe that Tom and Jerry are now 81 years old. Antique Classic cartoon. Began in 1940. Won an Oscar for Best Cartoon(short). And have entertained many generations and will be entertaining future generations with their crazy antics.

Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore (2022)
Star Trek: Discovery (2017) S4 E3
moongoddess 2 points 2 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

Beautifully presented, 3 theories and 3 conceptions of grief, feuding, healing, acceptance. Loved the uniting of an ‘eathereal entity’ with a cloned ‘humanoid’. Such raw emotions expressed between those 2 youth with this ‘out of this world’ rebirth experience.

I’ve read some comments over last 3 episodes where people seem off put due to the emotional direction of each character. They claim that in all former Star Trek series that the emotionalism was never present. I beg to differ, Remember, Counselor Troy? Captain Janeway? Guinan? Captain Sisco and DAX? And all Doctors? They all set the tone on their respective series’ with a lot of emotional happiness, turmoil, sadness, & crew member to crew member grievances during each episode of their respective programs, Star Trek Generation, Star Trek Voyager, Deep Space Nine. Many characters of prior ST series’ have had their share of emotional battles to concede to, to conquer. And need I mention, Star Trek: PICARD! He too presents us with much emotional upheaval on that show.

Seriously, Doesn’t anyone remember how Worf spiraled out of control for a ‘minute’ because his teen son was not ‘following’ in HIS ancestral, as well as, work related path? There was so much character to character turmoil, fights, disagreements, emotional stress, and they had to conquer their emotional dilemma’s while also engaged in battles between disagreeing races.

Sound familiar? Our own human race has this very problem, we have personal battles within ourselves, our family members, friends, communities, and it spills over into society, races, countries fighting countries over disagreements. Emotional turmoil is the forefront of all nation and community disagreements and all Star Trek programs, including Discovery, have presented it well. IMHO.

DC's Legends of Tomorrow (2016) S7 E4
moongoddess 2 points 2 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

Can this show get any better? Seriously, this episode was The Bee’s Knee’s. What a clever way to foil a potential Bump Off, albeit how bad it goes against the Legend’s timeline rules. Loved the Gin Mills, especially the Zari Party, and the Ghost whiteness of the Bullet Blonde’s was so metaphorically spot on! And the choreography that foiled the Gatecrasher’s intentions initial intentions to take down the BB’s. Swell!

For you young whippersnapper’s who haven’t figured out my slang banter above, I am using popular slang terminology from the 1920’s.

The Bee’s Knee’s: Awesome person/thing
Bump Off: Murder someone
Gin Mills: Speakeasy’s.
Gatecrasher: Uninvited ‘guests’ without invitation, password, lack of paying admission.
Swell: Excellent/Brilliant

The ghost white of the BB’s is metaphorical because it represents the fact they are time jumpers and ‘cannot be caught’.

Amy Pemberton’s(Gideon’s) vocals are very impressive! A very talented singer.

Fail! But, more importantly: why?
Timing was off in the cell phone scenes.
For a comedy, the writing was abysmal.
…episode not befitting a season starter.

moongoddess 2 points 2 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

The phone in scenes i think were spot on when it comes to virtual live streaming. Ever watch a live stream of a book/movie panel or comiccon live stream with people not attending(tv show talk shows) the live event but are at home on screen? There is an absolute pause-delay in the stream flow. Kind of akin to the old TV bleeping of foul language back in the 1950s through current years. What viewers actually view is a feed that is 3 second-delayed from that which the producers/directors/video employees actually are viewing within real time clock seconds on set. Therefore, they had/have ability to BLEEP out the foul words before it reached the viewing audience at home. So phone in timing was not ‘off’, Imho.

I do agree with the ‘writing’ it was short of comical validity per the Connors actors’ chemistry with each other. Did they lose a showrunner writer, and not replace them yet?(rhetorical)… Time will only answer that question.

The Flash (2014) S8 E2
moongoddess 2 points 2 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

Well, isn’t this going to be a wild 5 part multiverse team up.

I did see a lot of ‘what, why, how, really?, oh no he didn’t, and etc., etc.’ that need answers. The answers will not come till episode 5 of Armageddon.

But 1 theory I do have is: Joe’s, not dead. The entire Armageddon event, and, idea that Joe’s not alive is probably no more than a Schrodinger’s Cat. Might be a dream that Joe is having and he will wake up from in episode 6. Or, it’s Cecile, dreaming? Or is it Barry, dreaming?

Back to Armageddon: The minds of everyone are being warped into believing a specific scenario that will break Barry and make him go nuts. It is obvious to me that Barry is the Pawn for the 2 mindbenders currently reaking havoc on the city. Nothing is as it seems. So, can the Justice League win? DUH, it’s tv, it’s CW, it’s Comicbook hero’s, soooooo..YES, of course!

I will miss this show if it doesn’t get renewed for season 9. I don’t see an announcement coming till closer to the end of season 8.

Wonka (2023)
moongoddess 2 points 3 months ago.

Absolutely the best origin story! I thoroughly enjoyed it. The easter eggs in this that gave homage to the 1971 original movie were spectacular. The casting choice for Willy Wonka had me wondering if he was actually a direct descendant of Gene Wilder, who originated the role. 2 thumbs up from me.

The Wonder Years (2021) S1 E19
moongoddess 2 points 2 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

Loved this episode very much. Showed the personal angst and humbleness, yet also, PTSD, that happens to soldiers after returning home from war. The loss of a fellow unit member can change a person’s viewpoint about their own morality, values, and, boundaries they have either had or not had before experiencing such harsh turmoil in the front lines of the war. A wonderful plot arc was weaved in this episode that makes me want to hug the writers. WELL DONE!!!!!

EPIC SPOILER AHEAD!!!!!

It’s about time they gave a shout out homage to the original The Wonder Years(1988-1993)!!!

That last scene was a 6 degrees of separation connection to original program’s Cooper Family’s son, and, Winnie Cooper’s Brother. Remember that story arc? Winnie’s brother was killed in Vietnam. This episode ties the Williams family’s eldest son, Bruce, to the Cooper family’s son, Brian. They were in the same military unit.

I grew up in a musical family and have a strong appreciation for every adaptation of stage play, musical, movie, tv shows, etc. Every generations actors and actresses deserve applause for their interpretations of character. Each new cast always brings something new, different, yet, with a touch of similarity to the very first original production from bygone decades, centuries. Well done.

Denis Leary joins Organized Crime portraying character, Frank Donnelly. Can’t wait to see the second half of this season. Bring it on! Only 10 more episodes to go. Yeah, and the obvious, Wheatley isn’t dead. He’s a vampire…hard to kill. The Stabler-Wheatley Tom and Jerry act is already old for me. Time to bring in a new Jerry for Tom to chase. I cannot see this program going 5 years, a decade with Wheatley the bane of Stabler’s NYC Detective career. I would like to see more cross over between OC and SVU to establish and develop a romantic relationship between Olivia and Elliot. Would love to see some Oliviot screen time.

First episode ever that truly gave me pause. I cried through the program. I, and several family members, experienced multiple gun violence events throughout our first half century of life. The heartfelt discussions the Conner’s have with each other, their expression of angst, anger, fear, PTSD, really brought it all home for me. Years of counseling help one adjust to moving forward in life. A person never forgets the sounds a traumatic crime scene make at time of event. With counseling, they just ‘learn’ to adjust, cope, process, and move on towards a healthier productive style of living.

So much philosophical reasoning within the dialog. Truly brought home every emotional quirk, emotional outburst, angst, anger, sadness, and the joyful parts, of every episode throughout this entire season. Can they top this next season? This was a hard 1 to watch because I am a caregiver of my elderly parent. The topic tonight dealt with elderly folk losing their independence due to health issues. Elderly folk have so much pride built up by the time they are over 70, that sometimes they fail to realize how much harm they put others in by driving when they shouldn’t be. The tougher job is the child having to parent their own parent and remove the livelihood, the independence, the lifelong driving privilege, away before the elder adult harm themselves and others. Sadly, sometimes it actually takes an accident for that elderly parent to relinquish the car keys.

Ammonite (2020)
moongoddess 1 points 2 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

A quiet, yet loud, film about a women being stepped over and not acknowledged for their self-taught/life educated, time consumed passion for discovery, detail, and self-employment. Especially during the Victorian Era when men not only frowned at women for such things, but, were intimidated by their inept ability to show great detailed knowledge of particularly male dominant fields of study. Mary’s story, her life, and her career path, were the pioneering first step for women’s employment equality, as well as, a catapult into the world of notability amongst her fossil hunting, paleontology/archeology peers.

I thoroughly enjoyed the quietude within this film. Quietness lent to the eyes and senses to see the story through body language/posture, eye contact, emotions within what little dialog or camera scanning written letters, was present.

2 thumbs up/5 stars. Great film. Will watch it again 1 day.

SEAL Team (2017) S5 E3
moongoddess 1 points 2 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

A phenomenal, and, emotional, backstory episode; a fictionalized military team member’s origin story. It paid tribute to the many youth whose future’s were shaped by this USA tragedy, as well as, the many first responders who lost their lives that fated day. Many young adults enlisted in the Armed Forces within 2 years after that day. This was not a ‘recruitment video’. It was not a memorial episode, thus, why it was not aired during week of September 11. Yet, at the very end it did pay tribute to the many lives lost at Twin Towers, Pentagon, a field in Shanksville-PA(Flight 93). I read at IMDB, the plot point was the brainstorm of former Seal Team Member, and, Executive Producer of this show.

This show also paid tribute to those lost during USA’s very first terrorist attack at Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. Making note that it, too, would not be forgotten.

You’ve got a point re 3-second time delay. But that’s not a new thing. I mean, shouldn’t there have been a pause to allow for the delay? Not pausing made it seem as if they were running over each other. Despite it being live, production should have worked that out.

moongoddess 1 points 2 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

IF i was ‘not aired publically Live’ production would have that half hour or hour to ‘work that out’ before air time. Remember, Hollywood programs don’t just air and are filmed on set during our time zones scheduled air time. They do the ‘live in front of studio audience 6 to 12 hours, sometimes a day before, the actually televised air date. When something literally ‘GOES LIVE for TV, productions edits are not going to happen. So we get to view all the ‘flubs, mistakes, split second moments they forget their lines(most don’t if they are seasons actors, but then again. some days they still forget and end up ‘ad libbing’ or the responding character needs to ad lib a total different response than first originated within the practiced script. It’s like viewing a stage play or broadway stage production. Even mishaps and mistakes in verbal scripts take place. But the show must go on. Your viewpoint is completely valid and it’s great that you noticed the few screw ups, be they ‘technical in nature’, and/or ‘off script/ad lib’. I caught a few ad lib words within this live for national viewers’ episode. And loved how they all seemed to run with it each time. When there are veteran seasoned actors they can fix anything the younger actors may slightly screw up. It’s harder to detect such things once production has the time to edit/splice and ‘fix’ those instantanious mishaps.

Jefferson White (aka “Jimmy”) has popped up on the new drama Invasion. Not sure if he will have a continuing part in Invasion since he seems to be leaving the Yellowstone Ranch. Not sure if his departure is long term or not. I liked his character and would have loved to see it develop even more. One character leaves and another arrives in the form of a 14 year old named “Chubby” or Carter. Since Beth can’t have children, guess this is her chance to be a mother. Would this be a good thing or a bad thing? Time will tell, only time will tell.

moongoddess 1 points 2 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

I read an article about the casts move from Utah to Montana to film this, and future, seasons. They quarantined on site for 2 weeks before filming began. Plus, cast contract’s were given an additional addendum, with a pandemic quarantine requirement clause stating they were not allowed to leave the set at all, for any reason, or they’d be let go/fired; not allowed to return. The clause was inserted to keep everyone from possibly contracting the virus from outside extra sources. Sure, perhaps a bit extreme, but, likely necessary per the 8 months it takes to film the episodes. Had they not added this protocol and 1 or 3 or 7 cast members came down with the virus, they’d need to postpone production and push the season 4 premiere back till 2022. I would think that since you saw him on the new drama of Invasion, 1 of 2 options factor in: he likely left sometime during the season filming, or, after they wrapped filming.
