I’m a blubbering mess after watching this emotional, loving, touching episode. Every subplot filled with fear of the unknown, unconditional love, unconditional care, and unconditional support. It’s a 2000 box kleenex rating. Maybe an entire 18 wheeler trailer full of kleenex rating?

The Taming of the Shrew (1980)

I love revisiting the 1980s era of Shakespearean Plays. This one I remember from High school English literature classes. Can’t recall which grade though. I think maybe my junior year. I should search out the rest of the Shakespearean plays and watch them, including the lot of them I still have yet to see.

A Midsummer Night's Dream (1981)
moongoddess 2 points 2 years ago.

Glad I got to revisit this very adaptation. Last I saw this version I was sitting in a college classroom. Yep, it was an English Department College Course taught by a Shakespeare Scholar. I think I was half way through this movie before realizing why it was so familiar to me. I truly enjoy a lot of classic Shakespeare adaptations from centuries ago to present. I’ve read quite a few of his Folio’s. Not All, yet.

What a grand classical way to end a very emotional episode. With a beautifully presented concert of, The Piano Sonata No. 14 in C-sharp minor, marked Quasi una fantasia, Op. 27, No. 2; AKA, Moonlight Sonata. Beethoven completed it in 1801.

The idealism of leaving your most precious furniture behind to cross a river is grief stricken truth. Pioneers really had to do that and it was the foreigners who had the most difficulty with it considering they had built a life in one town, only to decide to ‘go west’, ‘go farther west’.

A Discovery of Witches (2018)
moongoddess 1 points 2 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

Best Costumes, for crossing multiple centuries and the time jump(season 2). Best cast, the chemistry was phenomenally ozzing..in all 3 seasons. Each season covered 1 book. That’s how all book to tv shows should be done…not 1 chapter per season. The 4th book was left out of this series because it is a 1 person back story of 1 of the characters, Marcus. Would like to see a tv series short 1 season of Marcus’s backstory, but it’s not absolutely necessary. The suspense in season 3 had me at the edge of my seat. This is not your typical Twilight Saga(Forks, Washington/The Cullen’s)vampire story. These vampires do not sparkle, nor are they pure blood..they are a blend of multiple creature dna: humans, demons, vampires, and witches. Ergo, they are all blood related. This is not even close to Harry Potter series. These witches do not use wands. It’s clear from season 1 that it’s all in the ‘intent and thoughts’, straight out of the fingertips.

Time to reread the books and be reminded which parts were not brought to tv/film.

A Discovery of Witches (2018) S3 E7
moongoddess 3 points 2 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

This is how you end a tv series. Brilliant adaptation of the book series. Actors and actresses did a super job, the chemistry was oozing. The CGI was phenomenal. Costuming, especially during the time jump period, was exquisite high couture. Heck, Costuming for all centuries presented was absolutely fashionably presented. I really love that they did 1 season per book. I have no idea if this would have survived 1 chapter per season, as many other books to series’ attempt to do. I wonder if there is a short series spin off for Marcus being planned? After all, Discovery of Witches book series is a complete set of 4, with Times Convert, being the short novella of the entire series. It’s the tell all of Marcus’s back story.

A very metaphorically bittersweet ending to the season and the program. Loved the infusion of modern words, phrases, music throughout the 3 seasons. Was a very entertaining series, even if it barely touched on her true activities, and, family life. And a note on Levinia, I doubt she was ‘that much off her rocker crazy’…a dumb blonde… as this program depicted. After all, if it wasn’t for levinia, none of Emily’s poems that were stored in her bedroom trunk would have ever been published, after Emily died.

Loved the mid credit entertainment reel at end of program. I grew up attending, and acting in, theater productions. So, of course, I would enjoy that Off-Broadway Broadway nod to Marvel and The Avengers. I bet the Broadway cast had fun doing that. tho, the costumes were slackin’ for a ‘broadway-off-broadway production. It looked more like a high school theater department costuming display. Good effort, though.

Fallon, how I love thee. Will you be in coma for entire season? It’s definitely legal contract time on set. Every time a celebrity’s contract is up and they are in Hot-discussion’s with the High Brass, they end up in a hospital bed. It’s a Soapy Tradition. Doesn’t matter if it’s Daytime or Primetime. Watch your back Adam. And Crystal, you better be watching your 6, too. Berto is coming after you. I smell a ‘Crystal Trap’ changling headed Blake’s way.

Squeeeee…..daddy’s (klaus’)crazy psycho ex has returned. Hip Hip Aurora! In The prequel, The Originals, Aurora did threaten to 1 day return when Hope was older. About time we had a throwback nod to TVD and Originals with a body switch. I think this latest transpiring event will be the reason Hope turns her humanity back on. The familial deception to keep an ancient family secret, about her father, from Hope would be enough for her to become humanly emotional again.

Talk about your double wammy mid season cliff hangers. The sudden addition of a supposedly talented doctor without an online presence? I’m guessing ‘WITSEC’: Witness Protection. The so called phone numbers are Field agent office redirects per the witsec’s original ID line so that operatives/agents can instantly know how to respond to the inquiring questions.

And perfect ‘wait for it’ cliffhanger for Dr. Bell. nice to know he knows, but we will need to wait in reality for 2 months.

And ‘Doctor Ego’ Ben is finally coming into his own and realizing how things are truly done in the doctorhood. Took him ‘a minute’ to straighten out his ego with a slight bite of ‘humble pie’.

Dickinson (2019) S3 E7
moongoddess 1 points 2 years ago*. (Contains Spoilers)

This season keeps getting better and more wildly uninhibited. Emily and her sister go on a ride to the future to find their estate became part of Amherst college campus and their house a tourist spot. They meet Sylvia Plath!!!! Another 1 of my favorite poets because she used a more modernistic vocabulary and expressionism. Emily’s was more symbolism, word play, and cryptic honesty of self truths. Sylvia Plath created Confessionism. Aka, Confessional Poetry. Watching the interaction between Emily and Sylvia was euphoric. Emily and her sister return to the past, and Emily is hit with blunt honesty from her sister.

Betty finds out the shocking truth about her husband’s whereabouts.
Mr. and Mrs. Dickenson take an existential trip after he discovers a plant Emily was growing in her greenhouse.

I am so gonna miss this when it’s ended.

Star Trek: Discovery (2017) S4 E3

Beautifully presented, 3 theories and 3 conceptions of grief, feuding, healing, acceptance. Loved the uniting of an ‘eathereal entity’ with a cloned ‘humanoid’. Such raw emotions expressed between those 2 youth with this ‘out of this world’ rebirth experience.

I’ve read some comments over last 3 episodes where people seem off put due to the emotional direction of each character. They claim that in all former Star Trek series that the emotionalism was never present. I beg to differ, Remember, Counselor Troy? Captain Janeway? Guinan? Captain Sisco and DAX? And all Doctors? They all set the tone on their respective series’ with a lot of emotional happiness, turmoil, sadness, & crew member to crew member grievances during each episode of their respective programs, Star Trek Generation, Star Trek Voyager, Deep Space Nine. Many characters of prior ST series’ have had their share of emotional battles to concede to, to conquer. And need I mention, Star Trek: PICARD! He too presents us with much emotional upheaval on that show.

Seriously, Doesn’t anyone remember how Worf spiraled out of control for a ‘minute’ because his teen son was not ‘following’ in HIS ancestral, as well as, work related path? There was so much character to character turmoil, fights, disagreements, emotional stress, and they had to conquer their emotional dilemma’s while also engaged in battles between disagreeing races.

Sound familiar? Our own human race has this very problem, we have personal battles within ourselves, our family members, friends, communities, and it spills over into society, races, countries fighting countries over disagreements. Emotional turmoil is the forefront of all nation and community disagreements and all Star Trek programs, including Discovery, have presented it well. IMHO.

Another quivering quivertastic episode. THAT BRIDGE SCENE!!!! PHENOMENAL CGI WORK! (Caps for excitement, elation). Geesh, can’t we just scream out of sheer delight here once in a while? Hawkeye 2.0 is truly going to blow the lineage mantle out of the atmosphere. Well, at least, until hawkeye’s biological-daughter comes into her own in about a decade. oh, I hope they don’t time jump a decade at the end of this 6 part season. Give this show at least 5 seasons before doing a dang time jump to Hawkeye 2.0’s retirement and quiver passing to Lila.

Riverdale (2017) S6 E3

Love, love, loved this episode. It was better than a Mob double double double cross! Veronica showed her devilish horns tonight, as did, Betty. The 2 most evil women of Rivervale. Ahem, -dale. Reggie had it comin’. Glen finally met his match, but not his equal. And Pops was saved by Blessed Mother’s Tears.

And what is up with Jughead’s Career now that he’s been double crossed by Devil. Never trust Luc Cyfer to be a man of his word, after all, he is the best double crossing agent in Hell.

Why can’t every episode be so morbidly entertaining like this?

The Flash (2014) S8 E3
moongoddess 3 points 2 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

There goes another time loop jump to the future. But what kind of future? Mindblown. Harry Wells and Iris West together? And the last line of the night is exactly what I thought when Barry came through the portal: What is he doing here? Will this 2031 be the fault of The Legend’s Legendary Screw Ups since last season and ongoing through this season? After all we already know that by 2042 things are definitely on a battle front in Starling City(Arrow/Oliver Queen), and likely, many more superhero towns.

On a random side note: Imho, it’s all because of the cloning of the Legend’s and the clones act of sabotaging and taking over the wave rider to ssabotage and resabotage several different era’s.

The Resident (2018) S5 E9

Dr. McEgoHothead(resident in training) annoys the crap out of me. Thinking he has to convince a patient to have lifesaving surgery and implantation. He tries to get Conrad to go against principles. Love it when Conrad teaches Dr Egohothead the value, moral, and principles of being a doctor to a patient who is of sound mind and body and doesn’t want medical or ‘bionic’ intervention to save his life and help him live longer. The patient has rights and doctors must honor them even when the doctor disagrees with the patients choice. Then there was patient ‘Indecisive’. She couldn’t make her mind up and asked the doctor to just make the right choice for her and do what is best so she can continue living well.

kintaru 1 points 2 years ago.

As a veteran, when i see shows that have characters portraying military members in uniform, they can at least adhere to grooming standards of facial hair. That beard is out of AFR 35-10, unless special forces. could not help that observation.

moongoddess 1 points 2 years ago.

I’ve seen same cosmological issues in many Hallmark holiday movies for decades…all year long for any holiday season. It’s just likely a continuity oversite on the part of production because it’s more about the plot than it is about ‘military grooming policies’. Remember, if the story isn’t focused on ‘military’ they do not, nor will not, have a military consultant on set. Therefore, the little things about military dress codes and hygiene policies are not implemented.

This 1 was extremely sappy. Romantic. Yet, i was very annoyed by it. Probably because I couldn’t see any ‘natural chemistry between the actors as they portrayed their characters. It felt ‘forced’ within many scenes. This 1 just did not ‘work well’ for me in the total enjoyment factor.

Loving how this is developing. Slow and steady, little action. Reminds me of how slow DareDevil, Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, and, Luke Cage were at the beginning and by end of season my head was spinning trying to keep up with the twists. Star Trek: Discovery (2017) S4 E2

Lots of emotional angst in this episode. I kept thinking, Where’s Counselor Troy when ya need her. Yet, they were all able to eventually process their emotions as typical any starfleet member would. With each other. Emotions are a part of Star Trek. This episode was boiling over with them. Which is unusual to have every fleet member under turmoil at the same time. And wow, something new that has never been seen in prior Star Trek programs! What was it? Where did it come from? Where is it going? Why is it there? how did it form? Why did it form? The answers will be in future episodes all season long. This is going to be an exciting adventure this season. Glad to see Mr. Saru rejoin the Discovery Crew, even if only a temporary assist.

OH MY IVY!!! Your costume is RAD! Loving the birthing of the villian’s this season. Sister finally helping sister. Daddy ought to be proud to have a daughter as a superhero(Kate was ‘Batwoman’), and, 2 as Supervillians(Elizabeth as ‘Red Alice/Alice’, and Mary, as ‘Poison Ivy’).
And Brother helping sister(or so, ‘he thinks’). Will Jet, as Joker, ever realize his sister is Batwoman? Will he stumble haphazzardly and break the lockdown of the Batcave? Will The Batcrew regain the building and their lair?

The Flash (2014) S8 E2

Well, isn’t this going to be a wild 5 part multiverse team up.

I did see a lot of ‘what, why, how, really?, oh no he didn’t, and etc., etc.’ that need answers. The answers will not come till episode 5 of Armageddon.

But 1 theory I do have is: Joe’s, not dead. The entire Armageddon event, and, idea that Joe’s not alive is probably no more than a Schrodinger’s Cat. Might be a dream that Joe is having and he will wake up from in episode 6. Or, it’s Cecile, dreaming? Or is it Barry, dreaming?

Back to Armageddon: The minds of everyone are being warped into believing a specific scenario that will break Barry and make him go nuts. It is obvious to me that Barry is the Pawn for the 2 mindbenders currently reaking havoc on the city. Nothing is as it seems. So, can the Justice League win? DUH, it’s tv, it’s CW, it’s Comicbook hero’s, soooooo..YES, of course!

I will miss this show if it doesn’t get renewed for season 9. I don’t see an announcement coming till closer to the end of season 8.

Riverdale (2017) S6 E2

Another Twilight Zonean episode. I wish all episodes of Rivervale, Erm, Riverdale, were like this 5 episode mirror universe. So much more darker than the Riverdalean neighborhood. But, meh, 3 more episodes to go before being shot back to Riverdale in the bedroom of Archie and Betty when Archie wakes up and tell Betty all about this Twilight Zone’d Dream he had. Or, will all of them wake up and tell each other about the crazy Twilight Zone mirrored universe dreams they all had?
I love how each of these 5 episodes are showcasing each person’s Riverdale universe fear, and/or, private twisted fantasy tales.
