JadeEnigma 1 points 4 years ago.

You do know this is total fiction, yes? It was the Royal Navy that captured the Enigma machines (a few of them) in 1941, and with those Alan Turing was able to create his machine that broke the initial codes. In 1942 the u-boat U-559 was taken with their codebooks intact, again by the Royal Navy, which made it possible for the British codebreakers at Bletchley Park to break the codes once more since the Germans had changed them. The Americans had nothing at all to do with it, Iā€™m sorry to say. Still, a ripping good film!

The Putin Interviews (2017)
random000 2 points 3 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

Iā€™d like to know how itā€™s ā€œrefreshingā€ that an ego-maniacal psychopath talks to regular people when he himself is actually also a regular person, but operates on the delusion that he isnā€™t, and that heā€™s better than regular people.

While Iā€™m sure that any ā€œexplanationā€ will be entertaining, it will never be forthright, truthful or based in a non-indoctrinated preprogrammed farce of reality since anyone who makes the false assumption that they are fit to lead anyone for any reason has a severe criminal brain disorder with a litany of psychosis from the DSM.

To quote Proudhon: ā€œAnyone who lays hands on me to govern me is a usurper & a tyrant, and I declare him my enemy.ā€ Anyone.

Putin is a criminal. That he gives interviews freely only demonstrates his arrogance & megalomaniacal assertion that he can operate with impunity. If Stone is doing anything, heā€™s attempting to show something to The West to penetrate itā€™s own closed-minded reality bubble, and heā€™s using his own celebrity to gain access- not particularly to Putin, but to his own Occidental establishment. Criminalā€™s of Putinā€™s nature are easily manipulated via ego-stroking & flattery, so he surely figures that heā€™s ā€œenlighteningā€ the little people beneath him, and while he supposed his own countrymen are beneath him since he presumes to be their tyrant, he certainly supposed anyone in The West is even further beneath himself. Heā€™s no different than any other brain damaged tramp from the political class.

Funny thing is, he thinks he is. But like all politicians, the thing that makes him dangerous is that he believes his own B.S.

So thereā€™s nothing new under the sun here. Itā€™s just more kool-aide for the Great Unwashed to drink in order to maintain a status quo while this criminal basks in his own self-celebrating celebrity. Stone may think heā€™s doing a service to The West, and he may think heā€™s clever in doing so, but this changes nothing for this hemisphere in terms of P.R. Itā€™s all puffery to preserve sheer madness. Nothing more, nothing less.

Togo (2019)
BubbaPharm.com 3 points 4 years ago*.

A very scenic movie, and definitely for people who love work dogs. The characters and story are almost subordinate to the grandeur. The lead dog, Togo, is great.

Iā€™ve known about Seppalaā€™s feat delivering diptheria serum in an Alaskan blizzard since I was a kid. There were also many other mushers involved.

Bravery in the days without helicopters and ERs was a different thing. Do or definitely die.

When I watched it reminded me of many episodes of Midsomer Murders.
Mark Easterbrook did seem to have a curse following him around but for the life of me I canā€™t remember how it ends.
Apparently, for me, it wasnā€™t a memorable movie although I did enjoy it.
And I love Rufus Sewell.

I usually donā€™t like a lot of documentaries, but I really liked this one, I am hoping that they make another season to continue with what is happening, so I can keep up to date on how their cases are going and if they get out or not. I am sure if and when they get out it will be on the news but they wonā€™t tell the whole full story like the documentary does with details.

Hands down, one of the best foreign war dramas I have seen in quite some time. An unflinching, wonderfully crafted tale of the birth of the Latvian State as seen through the eyes of a 17 year old boy who lived through The horrors of the Eastern Front in WW1, The Russian Revolution and the Latvian Civil War for Independence. The historical accuracy, screenplay, editing and cast are all top shelf. A Real triumph for the people of Latvia! Thanks Linkers!
