Nice, meditative American Gothic thriller. Slow-burn mystery that not only held my attention, but actually made me care about the characters.
10 Cloverfield Lane (2016)
Great second installment to the Cloverfield Anthology series. While this film does not immediately focus directly on the events from 2008’s Cloverfield, its presence is felt in the dark tone and ominous suspense. Largely due to John Goodman’s riveting performance.
Now that the Third installment (Abrams has not confirmed a fourth yet) is out, time to get some popcorn and watch all three.
Start with 2008’s Cloverfield to layout the scope.

I’d give it a 5/5, Nox, simply because of Peter Jackson alone.
The whole movie is an organic evolution from the comedic beginning to the dark and terrifying climax and satisfying conclusion.
For the time when this film was made, the now-outdated special effects used were considered cutting edge.
If you can find it, the Director’s Cut of this is simply fantastic!
He restored footage the MPAA forced him to scrap just to get it in theaters. He made what he considered to be a PG-13 film and they still slapped an R rating on.
He also kept a video diary of sorts and stored it on laserdisc to preserve its integrity. There’s hours and hours of bonus material!
Trivia : Michael Fox chewed up a lot of turf on the cutting room floor, as he kept calling John Astin’s character “Doc!”

As of 06/22/20, the show’s cocreator Baron Bo Odar announced on Instagram that they were making the planned final season. That’s all to this brilliant suspenseful series.
Except, of course, to watch it all over again!
This intense and complex series was heavily layered with a myriad of clues and innuendos that many of us, myself included, may have missed the first time around.

Season 2 Latest News. In January 2021, actress Amanda Collin (who plays Mother) revealed that the second season is scheduled to film for six months in South Africa, starting mid-March 2021.
On March, 8th, 2021, Collider confirmed by revealing that Abubakar Salim, who plays robotic caretaker Father, posted a picture of himself from the set on Twitter.
This news effectively establishes the time frame of Season Two release to be near that of the the First, which was on September Third, 2020. However, post-production for this type of show, could add months, pushing a release date into early 2022.

This cerebral sci-fi show was one of HBO Max’s first original series, backed by executive producer Ridley Scott and creator Aaron Guzikowski. Raised by Wolves follows two androids called Father and Mother who are tasked with raising human children on an alien planet after the Earth is destroyed by a religious war between Mithraics and atheists.
Season One gained attention by featuring some of Scott’s iconic imagery, while establishing Guzikowski’s slowly unraveling and mysterious story arc.
Season Two has a lot to offer, as there are still a lot of questions to answer. Guzikowski has previously revealed that he has plans for Five or Six seasons, so it looks like Raised by Wolves will clearly ramp up its questions and tensions before answering them all anytime soon.

Well this is a one off special, That’s why it lands under the Movies section. The Movie section isn’t just movies its full of specials from comedy to docs, to shorts and everything in between. Someone might even add it under the tv series as well eventually. My guess on why the genre selection, they just listed it as what the TV show is categorized as.
You’re on it, Odie! Most TV Series, Limited Series and Miniseries that contain more than One Episode, will show up under the TV Shows Section.

Agreed, Cyberfox! One of my Sci-Fi favorites! Christopher Walken is at his best and our too-soon-departed Natalie Wood in her last role.
I also enjoyed 1984’s DREAMSCAPE, starring Dennis Quaid, which too delved into the mind in a slightly different manner.
Together, these make for a great Double-Feature night!

I’ve seen it before and found it to be a tad more intense. Perhaps it was the subtitles, but that’s what inspired me to try this U.S. version.
Word of caution: I noticed there are a LOT of missing links,so I requested them in the Forum. They can ensure the subtitles are there far better than I can.
