I love a good western and this was pretty good. Good acting and dialog combined with a rather standard plot still makes for a fairly good movie.

Very Funny! Dave is a master of his craft!

Injustice (2021)
booger 2 points 2 years ago.

This was an ok version of this story with its major flaw being very short.
All the animation and voice acting was good and an easily followed story was told.
Trying to squeeze so much story into such a short time frame tends to cause issues but they handled it well enough.

Grimm (2011) S6 E13
booger 1 points 2 years ago.

This was a satisfying end to a great series!
There were a couple of major plot lines abandoned during the last season or two (not to mention minor ones) but all in all this wrapped up the series well, it would have been nice to have a full season but you get what you get.

Would be awesome if they had make some tv movies or some such for series like this where there is a big fan base of a series that was ended too soon.

What If...? (2021)
booger 1 points 2 years ago.

Really well done series. I enjoyed every single episode! Great animation and voice acting with superb writing!
If you enjoyed the films you will enjoy this.

CSI: Vegas (2021) S1 E1
booger 1 points 2 years ago.

Hitting the new show vibe with just enough OG flavor to entice old and new viewers alike I think this re-up might go the distance, I hope.
Good acting and a decent plot line with familiar episode construction plus OG cast cameos kept me watching.
Some of the scenes seemed a little superfluous but that could have just been my prejudice.

La Brea (2021) S1 E2
booger 2 points 2 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

I love the whole time-travel mystery thing, so this show scratches an itch for me.
There are some common faults that regularly show up in Hollywood movies/shows, like weird decisions/physics ie; In the first couple of minutes some folks decide it is a good idea to RUN from a large predator (1 of them an SF soldier turned physician). = weird decision And just moments later one of our intrepid heroes fires a 9mm into said predator while it was leaping (500lbs. +-) and it dropped immediately. = weird physics
I understand some folks not liking such weirdness, but if you cannot get over minor things then why are you watching a show about a rift in time?

Grimm (2011) S6 E7

LOL I totally flubbed off the last season and missed this hilariously entertaining ep entirely.

Super Fuzz (1981)

Was thinking about watching something spooky when thoughts of this gem popped in my head. (It ain’t spooky) Think I’ll watch it later, hilarious stuff.

NOVA (1974) S48 E13
booger 2 points 2 years ago.

Great episode! It is very heartening to know more and more scientific research is being done to get the answers people need.

La Brea (2021) S1 E1
booger 6 points 2 years ago.

Not bad for a first ep. And the opening scene was quite delightful! It gots the drama and it gots the mystery.
Not gonna say there wasn’t some rather silly moments, but I like this sorta stuff and will continue to watch and enjoy!

Grimm (2011) S3 E5
booger 1 points 2 years ago.

This is one of my favorite episodes. It’s main theme is also found in some of my favorite comics and tv shows like Ghost Rider, DareDevil and A-Team.
Like most episodes this one is a bit gory but has a more satisfying ending than many others.
Grimm had many problems like low budget, sometimes pointless or needless sub-plots etc, but I was sorry to see it go.

Batman: The Audio Adventures (2021) S1 E1
booger 2 points 2 years ago.

Good first ep. Excellent voice acting and sound effects. Story was pretty decent but the humor didn’t quite come through.

American Psycho (2000)

booger 1 points 2 years ago.

I totally agree! The dialogs really make this film!
When this first came out I was not interested at all. I was just not interested in this type of movie, believing them boring and unrealistic.
Until I saw part of it at a party and year later and subsequently rented it.
I was seriously creeped out! I had known guys like that, not necessarily the rich over-privileged type but ones with the same attitude about the way they saw the world and other people.

Intriguing. I want more.

Pointless Celebrities (2011)

what a wonderfully accurate title.

The Card Counter (2021)
booger 7 points 2 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

I fooled myself into watching what I thought was a film about casino gambling/beating the system etc. I read the title and skimmed the synopsis and did not bother with watching the trailer, not my typical way of doing things.
And what do I get for my lack of trouble? A truly excellent movie.
With very believable acting performances and disturbingly realistic scenarios, this film delivers a powerful message without the overabundance of dramatic music/poses/redundant scenes and so on that is hollywood norm for such heavy subject matter.
Make no mistake! This movie is Not about high stakes poker, but about the long term effects of mental manipulation, conditioning and torture as experienced by those that did the physical work involved.

Snake Eyes (2021)
booger 0 points 2 years ago.

Pretty good movie! Of course it doesn’t hurt that I am a sucker for revenge plots. I grew up with G.I. Joe “action figures” and cartoons and comics so am predisposed to like this.
Good solid story, action, acting etc. Nothing really new or groundbreaking, yet still an enjoyable ride.
For some reason, I am now in the mood for some Zatoichi.

Young Frankenstein (1974)
booger 4 points 2 years ago.

One of the few 70’s movies I still watch on a regular basis.
Funny, irreverent, thought provoking and very entertaining.
Gene Wilder, while popular and famous in his time always seemed very personable and ‘real’ on screen.
If you like silly, then you should live this.

Free Guy (2021)
booger 4 points 2 years ago.

An entertaining movie. Not the most original of plots…but what is? Like most slotlights cam copies the quality is real decent.

Star Trek: Lower Decks (2020) S2 E1

This show is the most Stupendously Superlicious of all the Star Trek based animated shows produced this century.

No gluons were harmed during filming.

The Witcher (2019)
booger 2 points 2 years ago.

Great series! Can’t wait for season 2!
Great story, immersive background and excellent acting!
This is my 2nd watch of season 1 and I am really enjoying it.
The first time I watched, I had just finished re-reading the books and was so busy trying to reconcile what I had read with what I was watching that I never appreciated what I was seeing.

High & Dry (2018)

A great movie.

What If...? (2021) S1 E1
booger 1 points 2 years ago.

Great! I really enjoyed the What If…? comics as a kid and young adult and this did not disappoint!
Great action and direction with top notch voice acting and superb animation.

Of course there was plenty of creative license taken giving nit pickers lots of ammunition but just ignore that and enjoy an awesome 30 minutes of alternative comic universe reality, I mean come on, they had to compress what took movie makers 3-hours of screen time to convey into half an hour.

Jungle Cruise (2021)
booger 1 points 2 years ago.

3.5 stars
If you like standard disney action/adventure/romance then you will not be disappointed. Not a bad movie if you’re up for it, but I doubt this will spawn a toy line or cartoon series. my suggestion … watch, enjoy and forget.

The Prince (2021)

It says comedy in the genre section yet it has none….perhaps I missed something?

I hate tragic endings, but it fits.
What a mother will do to protect her children is amazing.

The Walking Dead: Origins (2021)
booger 0 points 2 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

Wonderful recap of all 10 seasons from Daryl’s point of view. Anyone new to the series will find this quite useful. They should have been doing this for years. And you get a bonus with season 11 footage at the very end!
I hope the same formula is used in everybody else’s story because I do not need 4 iterations of the same thing told from slightly different perspectives, however, I Do need, a few random seconds of season 11 to wet my appetite.

Hmm. Ten years out and he’s still got beer? I can believe some crazy shit for a movie but that’s really pushin’ it.

shoot, I thought that was some kinda froo froo coffee drink.

Sweet Tooth (2021) S1 E2
booger 2 points 2 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

The child in me likes this it has adventure and stuff. The jaded adult points out that the time and resources needed to keep sweet corn viable would be far better utilized in a more efficient and climatized crop. Not to mention that without Nixtamalization corn (maize) is pointless and potentially dangerous.

Sweet Tooth (2021) S1 E1
booger 4 points 2 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

Cute and naive. Still a good story though. I have hopes for this show as I find it interesting.
The following is an overly harsh critique of the unnecessary naivety encountered this ep.
The majority of this episode is a study on how NOT to raise a child during the Apocalypse. Sheltering a child from the harsh realities of the world is just not a luxury anyone can afford in this scenario.
Expecting a child to “know how to do it” because they have seen you do it, is utterly absurd and would most likely end with the childs death in an actual emergency. Packing in garden shears instead of a hatchet is too stupid. Wyoming is not known for its sugar maple or crepe myrtle.

Occupation: Rainfall (2020)

I remember Watching as the episodes came out & Making Sure I was home To watch every Episode, its awesome & I saw a link for Falling Skies, both this Series & Falling Skies are both awesome series’s

yup, another great show canceled before its time. It wasn’t the the most original of shows but it was very entertaining.

Wrath of Man (2021)

Great Film! While this movie won’t win awards for originality or anything like that, it will keep you riveted until the very end.

F9: The Fast Saga (2021)
booger 8 points 2 years ago.

If you’ve seen any of the last 5 or 6 then you have seen this one. I personally love these over-the-top action movies, but they are not for everyone. So just join a watch party, crack open an ice-cold adult beverage and enjoy the ridiculous action scenes/plot twists/campy ̶h̶u̶m̶o̶r̶ ̶ everything.

Army of the Dead (2021)
booger 1 points 2 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

Overall I give this movie 2.5/5 a solid B-. While this is entertaining, it falls far short of its potential.
Despite halfway decent performances from veteran actors, this movie fails.
With any movie, you can expect inconsistencies and weird logic and this one did not disappoint in that regard, unfortunately.
The excellent music score and SFX were the only thing able to bring it up from a C.

Without Remorse (2021)
booger 2 points 3 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

As a standalone movie unrelated to the novel, this is a solid B movie. It has some sappy dialog and overused plot elements but is a decently entertaining watch.
As the predecessor to a gritty and violent novel that asked some hard questions, this movie is a dismal failure. There have been a slew of “Govrnment Conspiracy” movies made before and after the book came out and I doubt this would make into the top 100.
I don’t mind the PC stuff, T.V. and movies have always been influenced by whatever was currently trending and they always will.

The Virtuoso (2021)
booger 2 points 3 years ago.

Good enough for a watch but that’s about it. This slow-paced feature is more mystery than anything else and if you are surprised at the ending, consider yourself lucky.

Escape to the Cove (2021)
booger 1 points 3 years ago.

It is all downhill after seeing the poster and reading the synopsis.

Nobody (2021)
booger 1 points 3 years ago.

Very fun and entertaining! Like a well prepared meal, this movie lets you taste everything, yet, does not overpower the main ingredient (Action).

Mortal Kombat (2021)
booger 3 points 3 years ago.

For a movie based on a 90’s video game this is not bad. Some of the fight scenes were really good and very satisfying, while others were truncated. The plot was minimum but efforts were made, although not successfully.

Shadow and Bone (2021)
booger 5 points 3 years ago.

Not bad. Although, not real good either.
While I appreciate condensing the books down into something more manageable for the small screen, I generally like it a bit more coherent.
Familiarity with the books will certainly help fill in the gaps, but won’t make it any better.
Disjointed and a bit unfinished, but still worth watching.

The Pole (2021)
booger 1 points 3 years ago.

Overall this gets a “meh”. Everything is there i.e. funny premise, plot, characters etc. but it never really gels.

The Nevers (2021) S1 E1
booger 2 points 3 years ago.

Very entertaining! This scifi/supernatual show starts with the standard mix bag of characters (as has been the trend) and delivers a solid piece of viewing pleasure. Action/drama/suspence…well, there is a lot here to enjoy.
Prepare to suspend your disbelief, while you enjoy this latest offer from HBO.

Fear the Walking Dead (2015) S6 E8
booger 3 points 3 years ago.

Holy Heck! (pardon my language) Who knew that what started out as the “B” movie version of a well-established and critically acclaimed TV serial action/horror/drama, would become the best version of this universe on tv? The difference between this series and what the OS has become (in recent years) is night and day. Even during a real pandemic, this cast and crew have delivered, with this single episode, more action more drama and more horror, than was found in the last few eps., if not the entire last season, of the OS TWD! If a job is worth doing, it’s worth doing well.

The Walking Dead (2010) S10 E22
booger 1 points 3 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

Real nice season finale! The Negan story is finally told, and everybody is happy. And as expected, it turned out Negan was an average, everyday, normal guy. Whouda guessed? Well me, for one. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed this ep. and hardly skipped through it at all. Want a spoiler? He goes completely insane, convinces himself that the world would be better if everyone does what he thinks they should do, kills hundreds, if not thousands and keeps it up until some poor, pathetic and psychotic guy, who thinks he has all the answers, defeats him and puts him in jail. Oh… you wanted next season spoilers? Well then, Maggie and Negan, one will die…or not, they will find out that what’s his face is still alive…maybe, and most certain of all, they will continue to make entire episodes about specific characters without advancing the storyline overmuch. 2+1 stars = meh. 2 stars for telling Negans story (belatedly) and 1 for doing an almost decent job of it.
