I was going to skip this one because of a lot of negative comments about it, but I’m glad I didn’t. This is definitely a work of art, more of a space philosophy movie theme if you’re into movies that make you think and reflect on life. I will say that this was 10x more interesting than “Arrival” which I tried watching 2 times and never could finish it. The slow pace works for this film, I can’t say that for “Arrival”

firedove10 1 points 4 years ago.

It thought the movie was wonderful. Unlike Joeinwb, who’s caught up in his opinions, this film was a work of art. Not all good films are fast-paced; in-fact some of the best films in history are hours long.

Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker (2019)

that’s your opinion, and I’ll respect it. Some people loved it, some people didn’t… that’s how it is with all films. However, the prequels were trash.

Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker (2019)

Saw this at IMAX. I absolutely loved it! Awesome movie. worthy of being the last of the Skywalker saga. Plus, we finally got to learn who Ray’s parents were. She’s not a nobody. I’m not giving anything away, y’all need to go see the movie. I was also glad to see Kilo Ren redeem himself. That I’ll give out. 10/5 rating for me.

Crawl (2019)

This was a pretty good movie. I very much enjoyed it. 5/5

Us (2019)

This movie was pretty odd. I wouldn’t say it was scary, but it was weird and violent. Definitely a little creepy, but not a “horror” persay. 3/5

Fargo (1996)

it’s a great movie, but where are the links?

Addams Family Reunion (1998)
firedove10 3 points 4 years ago.

God, this was such a horrible film. The first two were the best. Not Tim Curry’s best by a long shot. -1 star

The Girl Who Leapt Through Time (2006)
firedove10 2 points 4 years ago.

This is a beautiful film.

Seoul Station (2016)

47 Meters Down: Uncaged (2019)
firedove10 2 points 4 years ago*.

Oh please, not another one. The first one was good, but come on, we don’t need a sequel to every good film. This film was trash. Worse than the first. -100/5

I would honestly rather see the creators of the first 47 Meters put that work and special effects into a modern adaptation of Jaws.

At long last the sequel to the 2017 IT Chapter 1,
a remake of the Stephen King 1990 classic.

Get up to speed HERE, then start running before IT gets you!

firedove10 0 points 4 years ago.

FYI the film creators of these recent IT movies never intended these films to be a remake of the 90s mini-series. Its a direct adaptation of the book. Period.

cause it has nothing to do with alieans like the trailers some what implied

sorry if you were expecting a more fast-paced film. Wait for Star Wars ;)

Ad Astra (2019)
firedove10 7 points 4 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

First off, this is NOT a movie for those who do not like slower films. I personally loved this. I saw it at IMAX, so I got pretty into it. I thought the story was engaging and the top secret mission/ government coverup aspec to it was a nice touch to the plot. I was not disappointed with this film at all. It’s worth a watch. AGAIN, this is NOT for those who are looking for something more fast-paced. 5/5

It Chapter Two (2019)
firedove10 5 points 4 years ago.

It definitely does the book justice. I’ve watched it in theaters twice already. I absolutely loved it! I can’t wait for them to released the supercut on blu-ray

Night of the Living Dead: Darkest Dawn (2015)
firedove10 1 points 4 years ago*.

It has its good parts. I think this film would have been so much better if it was live-action. It had a good, dark tone and honestly it’s not that bad. The only thing that kills this film is the animation. Though it followed a similar plot as the original 1968 classic, this film attempted to offer a much more modern, urban adaptation to the plot. I think if a legit director who can manage a decent budget for a new live-action film, following the same story-line as this one can probably be just as good of a remake as the 2004 remake of Dawn of the Dead. This film really had a lot of potential, it just lacked in the animation department.

Hardware (1990)
firedove10 1 points 4 years ago.

It was OK. the soundtrack is cool. The gore is pretty graphic, but it was to be expected. Not knocking it. Overall the film was alright; it’s good for a one-time watch. 3/5

Split (2017)
firedove10 2 points 4 years ago.

OMG James McAvoy is so HOT! Girl, if that “beast” came to me, I’d be like “hello beasty, lets have some fun.” LOL I’m a whore, what do you want? Anyway, the film was excellent and I love how it ties into the Unbreakable series. Looks like M. Night Shyamalan still has a few good moves still in his suit. 5/5

Suspiria (1977)
firedove10 3 points 4 years ago.

A lot of blood. A lot of stabbing young women and throwing them off the roof through the glass ceiling, a lot of screaming and more screaming. There is so much screaming they’ve even added it to the soundtrack mixed with other bizarre sounds. This film is disturbing to the core. I loved it. 5/5

The Boy (2016)
firedove10 2 points 4 years ago.

Thank you for reminding me to never by a life-sized porcelain doll. This movie is genuinely really creepy. 5/5

Cargo (2018)
firedove10 2 points 4 years ago.

I’m a huge zombie film fanatic, and “Cargo” is probably the best zombie movie of the 2010s apart from “The Dead” by the Ford Brothers. It’s also nice to know that this film was created by the same people who created the short film four years before this one was created. I love a film with a good plot, and you can tell the creators took a lot of time to make this gem. If you haven’t seen “Cargo” yet, then what are you waiting for? Get some popcorn, sit back and enjoy the film. you won’t regret it. 5/5

Annihilation (2018)
firedove10 4 points 4 years ago.

This movie was very bizarre; but that just describes the mysterious world you’re thrown into during this film. Its frightening while also beautiful. It also leaves you guessing at the end. It’s a slow burn kind of film, so you will either love it or hate it for that. Personally, in my opinion, I think slower horror films that take their time with the plot and building up to the climax are the best kind. Fast-paced jumpscares get old after awhile. Anyway, I rate this film 5/5. Its beautiful, you have to see it at least once.

Bird Box (2018)
firedove10 2 points 4 years ago*.

Watched it 4 or 5 times. I loved it. The story sucks you in and takes you hostage for the entire film. It’s very well written, the actors were phenomenal, and the fact that you can’t actually see the monsters is scary enough. Very suspenseful and thrilling. One of the best films of 2018 for sure.

I Am Mother (2019)
firedove10 4 points 4 years ago.

This was a very underrated film. Well worth the watch. I’d totally watch it again. 5/5

The Meg (2018)

Halloween (2018)
firedove10 2 points 4 years ago.

I thought this film was an interesting follow-up to the original. It had its moments of chills and thrills and I thought Jamie Lee Curtis was just totally kick ass! :D 4/5

Bad Times at the El Royale (2018)
firedove10 0 points 4 years ago.

This was surprisingly a really great film. I absolutely love crime thrillers! Chris Hemsworth is to die for ;)

Bohemian Rhapsody (2018)
firedove10 0 points 4 years ago.

Probably one of the best movies of 2018. I cried in the theater when I saw it. Me and my friends sand along to every song. Good times! 6/5 rating from me. :D

Overlord (2018)
firedove10 2 points 4 years ago.

I’m a huge zombie fan. this film was very interesting. It kind of reminded me of Return of the Living Dead in a sense, but instead of a gas, they used a syringe. I really liked the dark tone in this film and I thought the Nazi storyline was interesting. Though I wish the acting and story was a little better, I did enjoy the film. 4/5 rating from me.

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald (2018)
firedove10 0 points 4 years ago.

Awesome film. Big Harry Potter fanatic here! :D

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018)

Mary Poppins Returns (2018)

The Dead Don't Die (2019)

It was all a bit funny at first, but it started making me fall asleep. 3/5

Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019)
firedove10 3 points 4 years ago.

I’ve been watching the Toho Godzilla films since I was a child, and I have to say I was really looking forward to seeing this film. I was not disappointed. I thought it was great! Best of all I watched it at IMAX. It was worth every penny. I look forward to buying the Bluray when it comes out :D
