The Silence of the Lambs (1991)
BellaMia1 2 points 1 year ago.

This is one of the best movies made in the past 40 yrs. I still remember watching it for the first time, and how Anthony Hopkins scared the crap out of me. He was sooo delectably and devilishly good. And of course, Jodie was top-notch. Dang, the whole cast was on point. A classic, definitely worth watching.

The Pale Horse (2020) S1 E2
BellaMia1 2 points 3 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

Mm-mm…I liked the first part better than I liked this one. Too many loose ends in this one. The ending was bland. Rufus Sewell was creepy as hell. He’s a great actor. I wish there were a 3rd or even a 4th episode, to better finish the story.

Of Human Bondage (1934)
BellaMia1 2 points 1 year ago.

Bette Davis was deliciously evil and Leslie Howard was on point, as always. love this movie and I highly recommend it.

The Silence (2010) S1 E2
BellaMia1 2 points 3 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

OK, it’s getting more intense now. Although I don’t understand why Jim hasn’t gone to a higher grade, to help him. He’s extremely controlling and bonehead. And unfortunately, the character of Amelia, is only getting more irritating here. I really think that she behaves like someone with bipolar disorder, or multiple personalities. Her behavior is too extreme, at both ends. On to the next one.

Very Scary People (2019) S1 E2
BellaMia1 2 points 3 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

I read about this case a lot, throughout the years. And it still baffles me that this person got away with it for so long. The perfect depiction of what a psychopath behaves like. Manipulative, getting involve in his community life, mimicking a normal behavior. All smoke in people’s eyes, so he can continue his perverted activities. I wonder how many lives could’ve been saved, had the police taken the surviving victim’s statement seriously. We’ll never know. A creepy story, still after all these years.

Paranoid (2016) S1 E2
BellaMia1 2 points 3 years ago*.

This is taking a strange turn. And I wonder where this story is going. I really hope it will not be a disappointment. Because so far, so good.

River (2015) S1 E1
BellaMia1 2 points 3 years ago.

I don’t know what to make with this show, yet. Right off the bat, it’s hard for me to believe that a mentally unstable detective, would still have a job, at the London Metropolitan police. And everybody around him seems to be fine with it? I don’t think so. Somebody like that would be a danger to himself and his colleagues. I’ll see how future episodes goes, but this first one was hard to get into.

Annihilation (2018)
BellaMia1 1 points 4 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

The visual effects in this movie were pretty impressive, considering today’s standards. It was pretty gory at times. Beware. But that’s about one of the very few things that were good about this movie. The very slow pace was boring, I find myself doing other things, while not missing anything about the story. Then, most of the actions of the characters made no sense, scientifically speaking. Too many illogical behaviors. Too many stupid things said by some of the characters, that went against the actions they were doing. Even the mental state of each member in the group was questionable. They were undisciplined, which was annoying. Especially with the doctor selfishness. A leader does not leave his/her crew behind. I had to fast-forward to the last 20mins, because the storyline was going nowhere. And by the end of the movie, I was annoyed. This movie had so much potential, but it was bugged down unnecessary long scenes, an incoherent script, and a lazy finality, that doesn’t satisfy. More times should’ve been spent on the “alien or aliens”, and their motivation. Instead, it just ends. But what happens next with the “couple”? We don’t know. I hate it when stops like that. So for me, this was nothing more than a one-time watch. Beautiful to look at at least. 2/5 stars.

Law & Order: Criminal Intent (2001)
BellaMia1 2 points 4 years ago.

I was really disappointed when they cancelled this show. To me, it was more cerebral than the other series, which was FINE BY ME. I love it. And the character Of Vincent D’Onofrio (an amazing, underrated actor), was fascinating to me, especially psychologically. I really miss it. I definitely recommend it, especially if you like these kind of series.

Mark of a Killer (2019) S1 E1
BellaMia1 2 points 4 years ago.

I remember watching this whole story happening in the news, and reading and watching reports about this case. It was quite surreal how he managed to evade the cops for a while. A sad story, but a good episode, if you like police procedural series.

Murdered by Morning (2020) S1 E1
BellaMia1 2 points 4 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

So let me get that straight. Those 2 idiots killed someone’s daughter, because she refused to have a sexual encounter with them? And they were willing to lose their freedom for that? Not the brightest bulbs in the shed. As for that 911 dispatcher, I would’ve slapped a charge of negligence causing death on her. That poor girl could’ve been saved. As for the victim, I was wondering why on earth she would go to a man’s place ALONE, at 4 in the morning, after consuming a couple a drink with her friends. I don’t care if it’s a friend or not, it’s not a good situation for a single girl. What a tragedy, especially because a little boy is motherless now. Sad story, but good episode. Will keep watching.

Alien: Ore (Short 2019) (2019)
BellaMia1 2 points 4 years ago.

Not bad for a short. It was well done compared to most movies.

Anatomy of a Murder (1959)
BellaMia1 2 points 4 years ago.

Another classic with Jimmy Stewart. This man is in my top 5 favorite actors of all time. He’s simply amazing. His acting is so natural, it doesn’t feel like he’s acting. Definitely worth watching.

Love Me (2014)
BellaMia1 2 points 2 years ago.

An interesting look into the world of mail order brides. I find it hard to feel sorry for those men, when they had plenty of red flags to warn them of troubles to come. Now, I can understand their loneliness, but it’s not a reason to leave your logic aside. This was an informative documentary, although frustrating at times.

Still a Mystery (2019) S1 E2
BellaMia1 2 points 2 years ago.

This was an OK episode for me. I’d like to know what has happened to those cases, nowadays.

Fear Thy Roommate (2020) S1 E1
BellaMia1 2 points 2 years ago.

Yes, those girls are responsible for their actions. But also, the parents should’ve gotten involved, to diffuse the situation. And also, the school is to blame, for not taking the situation seriously. With the girls living on THEIR campus, their duty is to make the safety of their students a priority. The should’ve rescheduled another meeting with the girls AND their parents. Now, lives have been changed forever. So unnecessary.

Fear Thy Neighbor (2014) S1 E1
BellaMia1 2 points 2 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

My gosh! What a bunch of morons. With GUNS to make things worse. I’m especially mad at the disabled man, for putting his family in unnecessary danger. Having kids, he should’ve been the bigger man. And the last drastic action he took, he should’ve known that it would lead to violence. And this is why guns shouldn’t be so easily available to just anybody. Gotta love the United States and their second amendment.

The Twilight Zone (2002) S1 E1
BellaMia1 2 points 2 years ago.

This storyline somehow, felt unfinished to me. I feel like more could’ve been told about that neighborhood, and its way of life. It’s funny to me though, for I do not remember this series back in the days. I must’ve boycotted it, just like I did with the newer version from Jordan Peele. I’ll keep watching, but I sure hope that it gets better.

Crimes That Shook Britain (2008) S1 E4
BellaMia1 2 points 2 years ago.

What a horrendous creature. Had she not been find out, heavens knows how many more victims would’ve been left in her wake. Another case of a psychopath who betrays the most sacred of oaths. But the hospital is partly to blame for this catastrophe. She never should’ve been hired, for she did not have the proper competences. An heartbreaking episode.

Three Cases of Murder (1955)
BellaMia1 2 points 3 years ago.

I really enjoyed this movie. Every now and then, I’ll find a little gem like this one, from the old days and I love it. I definitely recommend this movie. 4.5/5 stars.

Murder Comes to Town (2014) S1 E1
BellaMia1 2 points 2 years ago.

I don’t believe one bit the explanation of the accused, in this episode. Things don’t happen the way he said with a gun. Even I know that. Good watch.

The Case That Haunts Me (2018) S1 E2
BellaMia1 2 points 2 years ago.

Another case I followed in the press as it happened, back in the days. But injustice showed its ugly head, afterward. Canadian laws are too lenient, at times. Still a good watch.

Murder Chose Me (2017) S1 E1
BellaMia1 2 points 2 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

My heart broke for this mother-to-be. I cannot wrap my head around such an extreme action. I feel mostly for the mother. And the unborn soul that was lost. What a tragedy.

Evil Lives Here: Shadows of Death (2020) S1 E2
BellaMia1 2 points 2 years ago.

An heartbreaking case, that really got to me. Especially after seeing the reaction of one of the daughters. How broken she was. So many lives shattered because of that creature. Good watch.

Amber (2014)
BellaMia1 2 points 2 years ago.

This was not one of my favorite show. I feel like I invested myself into it, but I am left unsatisfied.

Killer Cases (2020) S1 E3
BellaMia1 2 points 9 months ago.

yup. She really thought she was smarter than the police and people, in general. That police interview video was her undoing. It showed the true colors of this creature. I hope life is hell for her where she is.

The Killer Beside Me (2018) S1 E1
BellaMia1 2 points 2 years ago.

Another case that I remember watching about, when it happened. Here, there were some things that I did not know about. Personally, I feel that her workplace could’ve done more to protect her. The safety of employees should be a priority. Good watch.

Solved (2008) S1 E1
BellaMia1 2 points 2 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

Wow. That case was something else. For all the reading about crimes that this girl did, clearly she forgot about the most important of clues: DNA. It doesn’t lie. Good watch

The Exorcist (1973)
BellaMia1 2 points 2 years ago.

This is a movie right here, that f*ed me up for years. I STILL can’t watch that famous scene in the staircase. It freaks me out, till this day. A classic that traumatized a generation. Worth watching.

The Murder Tapes (2019) S1 E3
BellaMia1 2 points 2 years ago.

This was simply a sickening case. What that man did was purely evil and degrading to this poor woman. He is where a creature like him belongs. Good watch. It always baffles me that criminals forget about something as simple as a camera, filming where they were. You would think that in these day and age, it’s something to think about, if you commit a crime.

Vera (2011) S6 E1
BellaMia1 2 points 1 year ago.

Oh man. I had to stop to recollect myself. This episode was very emotional for me. I really didn’t see it coming. Love this show.

New York Homicide (2022) S1 E1
BellaMia1 2 points 2 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

It goes to show that one should abstain from people one does not know. The pain of the father, broke my heart. An instructive episode.

The Object of Murder (2019) S1 E1
BellaMia1 2 points 2 years ago*. (Contains Spoilers)

The prosecution and mostly then family, really got screwed in this case. I felt angry for them. But more infuriating even, is the attitude of the Army. Who once again, fails to stand on the right side of justice. Good watch

Murder in the Heartland (2017) S1 E2
BellaMia1 2 points 2 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

A senseless tragedy. The victim was clearly loved and appreciated by her community. The good ones seem to always die young.

Infamous (2006)
BellaMia1 2 points 2 months ago.

I preferred this version instead of the version with Philip Seymour Hoffman. Toby Jones resembled Capote the most, and had his mannerism to the tee. Hoffman wasn’t bad though. Definitely worth a watch.

Barney Miller (1975) S1 E1
BellaMia1 2 points 2 years ago.

I’d heard about this show before, but never took the time to watch it. Now that I have, I can say that I will keep with it.

Body in the Snow: The Murder of Joanna Yeates (2021) S1 E2
BellaMia1 2 points 2 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

This was an interesting documentary. Although in my opinion, it could’ve been an hour episode instead of two+. I was annoyed though, that the judge didn’t want to admit some evidence that showed the accused behavior. That man is sick, period. Good riddance.

Expert Witness (2021) S1 E1
BellaMia1 2 points 2 years ago.

That was very informative, when it comes to forensic science and crimes. Just the kind of thing I like. Good watch.

Taking the Stand (2022) S1 E1
BellaMia1 2 points 2 years ago.

I followed this case when it was happening. And I remember how ridiculous the defense of that woman was. Anybody with a brain would not fall for it. The arrogance oozing from her was her worse enemy. I am glad with the verdict. Good watch.

RETCH (Short 2018) (2019)
BellaMia1 2 points 2 years ago.

Nope. That didn’t do it for me. I couldn’t wait to see what would happened next, but the ending was disappointing to me.

Winter (2015)
BellaMia1 2 points 3 years ago.

I definitely recommend this series. It’s a good and easy watch.

Thorne (2010) S1 E1
BellaMia1 2 points 3 years ago.

I read the reviews about this series on IMDb before watching this episode, and I see what some people are saying. The behavior of the characters are unrealistic. I doubt the police would treat a victim the way Thorne did. And what’s with the yelling at each other? And the flashbacks are annoying after a while. Can’t say that this first episode impressed me. I’ll watch the next, and see if I still feel the same way. So far, not so good.

Mr & Mrs Murder (2013) S1 E1
BellaMia1 2 points 3 years ago.

Another show that I never heard of before this confinement, and discovering now. And I’m glad that I did. It had me giggling throughout, which is a good thing for me. I am definitely a fan. Will keep on watching.

Unforgotten (2015) S1 E1
BellaMia1 2 points 3 years ago.

I first saw an episode of this series on PBS, and I got hooked. Can’t wait to see more.

Dirk Gently (2012)
BellaMia1 2 points 3 years ago.

This is a decent series. Good for a one-time watch.

Murder in the Heartland (2017) S1 E1
BellaMia1 2 points 2 years ago.

So much pain all around. Especially when it comes to a small city, where everybody knows everybody. I could feel the pain of her kids. It seeped through the screen. Good watch.

Killer High: The Silent Crisis (2021)
BellaMia1 2 points 2 years ago*. (Contains Spoilers)

Man, I don’t think I can erase that mother’s wails from my mind, when she find her son dead. There is nothing more primal nor heart-shattering than that sound. This drug scares the crap out of me. That’s why I stick to Mother Nature’s gift to us: greenery or the occasional alcohol. You can’t trust people nowadays because of greed and the blatant disregard of lost of lives. It wasn’t like that before. Now. there 2 more drugs more potent than fentanyl that are starting to be seen in some places. Even more scarier. How sad. And it doesn’t bode well for the future, for greed is alive and well. And there’s always an idiot somewhere, that will come up with a new buzz and unfortunately, there will always be a demand for it from people chasing a buzz. And our governments are sitting on their asses, doing nothing. Very interesting and educative.

Frigid (Short 2016)
BellaMia1 2 points 2 months ago.

I was waiting for the storyline to get somewhere but it never did. Honestly, there’s no point to this short. A waste of time for me.

Benji (1974)
BellaMia1 2 points 1 year ago.

Man, I don’t know how many times I saw this movie, back in the days. Had me crying every time. A classic, feel-good movie for the whole family.

Forensic Files II (2020) S1 E2
BellaMia1 2 points 2 years ago.

Interesting episode. I like to know about new technology, in the field of forensic.
