Good movie, but horrible casting. Jill Clayburgh might be a good actress, but she is nothing like the refined, softly beautiful, and quietly soulful Jill Ireland was. Holy crap. Lance Henrikson did his best, but he looks nothing like Charles Bronson, so it was very distracting, and wtf Jimmy McNichol? why? lol. Could’ve been a thousand times better with proper casting. Thank you, uploaders.

Oh wow! I saw this my first time at an IMAX when it came out. It was amazing on the massive screen.
Excellent movie. They’re like hostages. Sickening. Hurray for the red, white, and blue. 🤢🤮.
It’s a cheesily acted and scripted show, even for 97/98, but I like time travel stories, and it was kind of cool that William Devane’s son played a younger version of his character. My gosh they look alike.
I don’t care for some of his comedic movies, although his recent TV show was funny when it didn’t cross my gross-out line, lol, so I was pleasantly surprised at his serious acting skills. I watched this almost two weeks ago all in one sitting. Excellent mid-century biographical espionage series.
i agree the actors were great. i dnt know their names but here you got it. nice posting.
I love biopics, but this is some bad acting and the music is … whoa, so bad. I thought I’d seen this when it first aired, but I don’t remember it being quite this poorly done. It was fun to see Mannix on screen again, though. I always liked Mike Connors. Thank you, uploaders.
This is a great movie! Everyone in it does a fantastic job. No wonder the IMDb rating is so high. 5/5 stars.
Kinda weird. And an awful, dingy office. I always had nice offices, and even in old Gastown, the office space was always decent. Yuck.
I love biographies, but I cannot stomach schmaltzy Broadway singing, especially this extra-awful era. So I’m stopping after one episode, but for anyone who enjoys it, this is quite well-done. Too bad, because it would’ve been a decent binge-watch.
I watched this after watching The Vow documentary. This gives an idea of the events, but not the full picture. Andrea Roth’s English accent is almost as fake and terrible sounding as Madonna’s. Otherwise it’s pretty good.
Mark’s Law is something that should just be a given down there. I can’t believe it isn’t. Wtf.
Seriously, she’s vaping and she’s a drunk. And she’s mad at Picard for standing up to the Federation when they wouldn’t help the Romulans? What am I missing here? I kinda hate this chick.
I noticed the IMDb rating is unusually high. It is now at 7.1 from a total of 33 votes. All 11 written IMDb reviews are utterly stellar. All 11 written IMDb reviewers saw an advanced screening, so they are likely in the movie, part of the crew, or friends of those people. It’s an ok movie. The music is well-done, but it doesn’t always fit, and it’s overpowering. Not because it’s loud; but because it’s quite good and doesn’t fit with what is happening. In the beginning, it’s beautifully poignant-sounding, which makes no sense. There are drawn out moments of tension, which are almost absurd (the “Let ME drive the car” moment when the car won’t even start had me laughing hysterically…which I know it was not supposed to do, and the kerfuffle over the telescope that won’t fit in the car was just dopey…and also unintentionally comical). And then the music builds, but it builds beyond the acted-out tension and then has nowhere further to really go. The acting is fairly good. The beginning is way too drawn out, and the attempt to make these guys, who don’t even all know each other until this event, some kind of lifelong-friend team that is now back together is weird. Some things are a bit too complicated to understand (the radio signal science stuff). It’s not bad, but it ain’t no 8.6 or even 7.1 IMDb stars. Thank you, uploaders.
How could anyone do that to their child or anyone they love. And the sickos who perpetuate the absurd idea of conversion “therapy” in the name of Jesus. The heinous things some truly messed up people do; completely forgetting the commandment directly from Jesus: “This is my commandment. That ye love one another, as I have loved you.” John 15:12.
I came here to see if anyone had mentioned the recent media coverage of the real case. Scary and creepy, eh? I watched some of her interview with her new weird adoptive parents and didn’t buy a word they said. I hope the original adopters aren’t found guilty of their charges.
She smartened up after she got to their home because she had burned bridges with other families and the jig was up. She had adult teeth at “8” years old for crying out loud. I’d like to see what Paul Ekman would say about her micro expressions and have him do a deception analysis on her. I think she’s a very good liar. And I hope those people are exonerated, too.
This is a great movie. I’ve seen it a few times, and I only just realized the same actor, John David Washington, is in another show I really like: Ballers. And after realizing that, I then learned that he is Denzel Washington’s son. Thank you, uploaders.
They are NOT spoilers! I’m quoting the posted synopsis from this very episode (see above…yeah, up there) and a previous one.
I didn’t reveal anything. I am asking if anyone has seen the entire episode anywhere. I noted what it says it’s about in this very page and what is missing. What I wrote is in no way a spoiler nor would it lead to spoiling anything anymore than any other benign discussion leads to spoilers on any other show on this site. In fact, even if I wrote the entire synopsis in the comment box, instead of the one or two points I chose from it, that would also not be a spoiler. I revealed NOTHING about what happened in the episode and only that what the the synopsis says happened, in fact, did not happen because this is an edited, shortened episode and not the actual broadcast of the full show. You know good and well that you didn’t read the synopsis before jumping on my comment, and I have never, ever spoiled any media plots on here. This is the second time you’ve done this to me with this show. It’s unfair and entirely uncalled for.
I am not a Judy Garland fan at all, but this is a very well-done and different documentary. Giving it one star, especially without even probably having watched it, is just petty, immature, and foolish. That in no way renders an actual opinion that helps anyone thinking about watching this. Grow up.
Could’ve capitalized SO much more on the theme of brainy, socially-stunted, awkward outcasts trying to fit 5 years of teenage fun into one night, but it totally missed its mark. Could’ve been much, much funnier, and the pudgy girl’s character could’ve been so much more likeable without changing the bit of friendship dynamic drama that was played out. At first, she seemed to be like a female Jonah Hill in the Jump Street movies, which would’ve worked perfectly for this. Instead, I felt no sympathy for her character and wanted her to fail. I think I just didn’t like the character, but maybe I also didn’t like the actress. I’m not sure. But the scene-stealer is definitely the character, Gigi/Triple A, who was a scream. I don’t know who she is, but her looks and mannerisms remind me of a cross between Blake Lively and Bri Larson. If it hadn’t been for her, I would’ve not bothered watching through to the end. Thank you, uploaders.
I’m sorry I double posted but it showed my comment was deleted almost immediately after I made it. And this one wouldn’t delete, so now I’m writing this edit. Weird.
Sorry, that plot description is cringe-worthy. Read that sentence, and think about what it’s supposed to mean.
The description on IMDB used to say:
A rookie Detroit cop stumbles upon corrupt officers murdering a drug dealer, an incident captured by her body cam. They pursue her through the night in an attempt to destroy the footage, and to make matters worse, they’ve tipped off a criminal gang that she’s responsible for the dealer’s death.
Except that’s not the description on IMDb. It takes place in New Orleans.
This was filmed where I live. Like…I could see them from my building, lol.
You are just a miserable fuck with zero joy in your life aren’t ya?
I’d also like to mention their glaring misuse of words:
could have
it’s
should have
…but I won’t.
most white folk movie of all time..if you want to feel intellectually superior..if your spirit animal is a hoity toity british dude in a paisley cravat..this is the movie for you. have a blast
This is such a stupid movie, lol. I’d rather watch a Teletubbies marathon than ever have to choke back the experience of rewatching this piece of crap. I can’t really stand any of the movies this director has made, though. I’ve tried three of them without realizing he was the common denominator until I had already suffered through each one of them.
Whether you’re for or against Trumpo, this show is ridiculously biased and one sided. It’s produced by Viceland, they’re so far to the left they make Buzzfeed and CNN look conservative.
CNN is fairly conservative; it’s just not far right wing like F$x opinion talkers. In places like here, where I am, we have more than two parties, so CNN is pretty much in middle as far as the kind of people it has on for interviews. It’s kind of interesting that some people in the US think their Democratic Party is Left. They’re Democratic, which is pretty central.
I’m not a fan of ALW or really anything Broadway; although, I did sit in the front row at one of Yul Brynner’s last performances in The King and I, and I was spellbound, but mostly just because of him and the iconic role. I tried this. I wish I hadn’t.
It is a sad, sad movie, and just a warning that I found one of the scenes in particular to be extremely disturbing. We see violence in many movies, but this was somehow one of the more horrifying scenes I’ve watched and there wasn’t even any blood or gore. I’d want to be warned, and it’s not a spoiler. The synopsis is clear. The story was in the news even here in Canada. I think the scene is core-shaking. Thank you uploaders.
Passing a cyclist and claiming he was turning around and rode into her car, when he said he almost never rides his bike to school, but he was late that day, so he rode. No way was he turning around, plus her car hit him in the rear quarter panel. And she wants the car damage paid for by the biker’s parents? Judge Judy is absolutely right that she is lucky they didn’t sue her for hitting their son. What an idiot. Cop should’ve and would’ve given HER a ticket here, and as for her car, here, provincially-run auto insurance would cover her damages less her deductible, but her rate would go up or her Safe Driving would be incrementally affected, as it should be, because she is a crappy driver. Thank God we have government-run insurance and no No-Fault BS insurance.
“Don’t ever do that again!” Johnny Depp was hilarious. And that horse (or horses) from Ontario was beautiful. Thank you uploaders.
This was really cute, and the outtakes at the end are hilarious. Thank you, uploaders.
So dumb. I’ve never cared much for the Beatles, but I have respect for actual legend status, and they are indeed legends. But this is silly. Never mind the fact that the narrator does the worst Liverpool accent and George Harrison imitation ever, but Heather Mills is younger than I am, and I was 1 year old in 1966 😂😂. They even dubbed over the real Harrison saying “Faul” instead of what he actually said, “Paul” in the the Australian TV interview close to the end of this, sneaky bastards. And the supposed justification for needing to cover up Paul McCartney’s “death”…that there’d be mass suicides?! Lol. No there wouldn’t have. Plenty of beloved people have passed and there has never been a rash of emotional-devastation suicides. Thank you, uploaders, though.
Maybe she did do a great job. I just felt annoyed because of the behavior i witnessed from her, like she was a spoiled brat. She wanted to go to london because she was broke but acted completely ungrateful when she got there. I dont think she really acted that way. I dont hate judy but i dont want to remeber her like that.
She was messed up on bennies and alcohol and she’d been near death previously with a ballooned liver and gallons of fluid on her body. The chemicals and the awful treatment she’d experienced over the years from everyone from her mother to directors and studio heads (especially Busby Berkeley…he was an asshole and a slave-driver) left her mind somewhat broken. I do believe she was unreliable in London and when she had her TV show, but that’s what happens when you’re controlled by greedy people and drugs. This behaviour has been shown and written about in other documentaries and books, so even though we don’t know all the details of the private conversations she had with everyone, many, including people who loved her have spoken about this. And it happened to a lot of stars back then, especially women. I didn’t find it annoying; I found it made me feel sorry for her. She was a firecracker and a fierce force to be reckoned with who gave her all when she did perform. You can only do that so much without proper nutrition and rest and recharge time before physical and mental things start to break. That much is very well known.
This episode seems to have audio playing from the commercials over the episode in quite a few spots.
Yes thank you. I’m going mental trying all the links and not that many work on my devices to begin with.
Edit: the THIRD streamplay link is normal. It has no audio sync issues or commercials.
really looking foward to seeing this but I’m gonna wait on a better copy. If you liked this, true stories and asshole characters then you should check out Rush a F1 biopic about Niki Lauda and James Hunt and has terrific acting all around.
I thought Rush was great, too, and I didn’t care for Daniel Brühl until I watched him in that. They both did a good job, but he was fantastic. I’m not a race fan, but I love biopics.
I thought Angela was utterly repulsive, but TLC has outdone themselves. Say hello to Lisa. Ugh.
Natasha and Mikey, my gosh, that was the most beautiful breakup I think I’ve ever witnessed. For sure on this show. They both showed such grace and class. Thank you to whomever records and uploads these. I can’t get this show in Canada, and I’m so grateful for the links. Also, you do it nice and quickly and that is also appreciated!
When Olivia asks where they took Vincent, the guy tells her “the local hospital in Abbotsford”. This was filmed in North and West Vancouver and Lions Bay and along the Sea to Sky Highway. I live in Abbotsford, and it is a 2 hour drive from there to where I am, lol.
He’s pretty good at it, but Ekman is even better. Plus, it’d be another, independent analysis. I think Doc was duped in this case. I don’t always agree with him, and he did have that Jack Trimarco from the FBI for many years doing the polygraphs, which can be beaten, but Jack was excellent at it. He passed away last year, though.
My goodness this is so sad. I hadn’t heard anything about this before. Thank you, uploaders.
Wow. I can’t believe anyone outside of Western Canada and under the age of 45 would have ever even heard of the Payolas. They were terrible, but I heard Eyes of a Stranger playing in this episode. Really surprising.
