this is an excellent drama series with a few moments of comedic relief. It is classified not only as a drama, but also as a “comedy”. It’s not. there is nothing funny about domestic violence, child abuse or mental illness.

You are right. It’s definitely a drama. Though I do believe some very dark twisted satirical comedy can come from those (or any) taboo subjects, this is not that. This is a drama.

This is not a hollywood production. Its what you would call a spaghetti western. Spaghetti westerns were/are typically filmed in Italy or Spain. This one was filmed in Spain. So whatever you’re blathering about, authenticity is not true in the context of this series.
If anything, it feels like other shows Hugo Blick has written. Not story or plot wise but in tone.

It’s still “cleaner” than most other sitcoms these days. Not that I care. I love filthy, raw, adult cable/streaming comedy but this is not that. Not by a long shot.

Taboo season 2 was also delayed by COVID (and Tom Hardy’s massive schedule) and might happen or might not happen, depends on Hardy ultimately.

Quibi went out of business though they sold streaming rights to the roku channel. Doubtful there will be anymore episodes though.

Says running, but from everything I can see after looking, this was canceled after the 2nd season, which is to bad, as far as I’m concerned, I would have liked one more season. But that’s me.
Would have liked to have seen what they did with Silas in the military after he got in, and what happened after that crazy chick took over, would have made a good story line.

Not “canceled” per sey but rather ending. It was always meant to be 2 seasons and done. It was announced as 2 seasons and out as soon as it was picked up!

Got cancelled on account of one of the actors acting like an idiot and sexually harassing people. Messed it up for everybody. Can’t remember which one it was now. People were talking about it here, and I looked it up. Was an episode or so back. Peeps were hoping someone else would pick this up and keep it going.
It was the actor Cas Anvar, who was killed off at the end of the 5th season.
