Mix Up in the Mediterranean (2021)
TisOnlyMe 1 points 3 years ago.

If you’re sappy enough to make it through to the end of this, it’ll leave you smiling! It’s fun, it’s silly, i enjoyed it. It’s also set in Malta and it was SUNNY, a nice change from grey February where i live! The perfect antidote to Winter for HALLMARK fans! :))x

Debris (2021) S1 E1
pryme 3 points 3 years ago.

It’s worth checking out for sci-fi fans but dont get your hopes too high. It’s like Fringe in the sense of having strange phenomena that defy the laws of physics but it’s not at all epic or emotionally engaging like Fringe was, and like TisOnlyMe said, it has no interesting characters (and I’m not very impressed with the actors).

The first episode was just ok, not great, but it may still end up being a good series after the plot develops further in future episodes. I didnt like certain aspects of the main plot of the pilot, which I wont specify here so as to not spoil it for anyone.

Highly doubtful it will be anywhere near as good as Fringe even in best case scenario but that’s just my opinion, I could be wrong (and very much hope that I am, I want this show to be great!). In any case it’s nice to have a new show somewhat similar to Fringe even if it ends up being not nearly as good.

..All of which is exactly what i meant to say in my earlier comment.. Thanks for saying exactly what i meant! :))x

Good Sam (2022)
PonderThis -1 points 2 years ago.

I read an article today about Sophia Bush and I decided right then and there I wasn’t going to watch this drama. I like Jason Isaacs and generally like anything that he is in but won’t be watching it. I was rather surprised they gave this drama a name close to The Good Doctor. Haven’t watched that medical drama either.

TisOnlyMe 1 points 2 years ago.

I watched S1 of The GOOD DOCTOR when it came out and enjoyed it, but then i watched the original Korean version.. it’s very ‘Korean’ (obv) but SO much better than the US remake. If you can manage the subtitles i’d def recommend it if you like medical dramas :))x

Harvey (1998)
Alien -1 points 3 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

This is horrible. The nerve of trying to remake a Jimmy Stewart classic.

TisOnlyMe 1 points 3 years ago.

Do you know, i was gonna say the exact same thing last night when i first saw this post. Who would even THINK it was a good idea to remake such a classic? It’s like when they re-made ‘Mr Deeds Goes to Town’ with Adam Sandler.. tragically awful and not even true to the original.. anyway, Don’t get me started.. i guess that’s showbiz for ya! :))x

They Might Be Giants (1971)
TisOnlyMe 1 points 3 years ago.

It’s hard to imagine George C. Scott was ever such a young man but here he is opposite Joanne Woodward in a truly classic alternative take on the Sherlock Holmes story. I stumbled across this small masterpiece many years ago and was blown away by the way the story is told, a very different take on the great detective than we’re accustomed to. It really deserves a better link than just this YT copy and to be seen by a wider audience. It’s unusual and brilliant, time i re-watched it meself now i come to think of it.. Thanks for posting! :))x

Pure Country (1992)

I give up! This just keeps getting more stupid.

TisOnlyMe 1 points 4 years ago.

You got a lot more stamina than me Boytoy.. i gave it up after S1 Ep2 for the same reason! The original movie was better and worth a watch though :))x https://www.primewire.li/movie/752273-watch-the-mortal-instruments-city-of-bones

Miss Sherlock (2018)
TisOnlyMe 1 points 4 years ago.

A different take on the classic detective story, set in modern day Tokyo with a female Sherlock and ‘Wato-san’ her side-kick. Elementary it ain’t and each ep is too short for any real depth, you can see why ‘MISS SHERLOCK” only lasted for one short series, but in a fluffy, very Japanese way it’s quite enjoyable.. Lightweight and amusing, a perfect watch after 10 weeks of Lockdown, well i’m enjoying it anyhow! :))x

Rick Astley: Never Gonna Give You Up (1987)
TisOnlyMe 1 points 4 years ago.

Just have to look at the poster of Rick Astley here and be reminded of Bill Hicks “DANGEROUS” skit that features “Never gonna give you up/Never gonna make you cry”. Bill didn’t think much of Rick and since that sketch neither do i. How i miss BILL HICKS :((x

Balthazar (2018) S2 E4
TisOnlyMe 1 points 3 years ago.

Gad how i love this programme! All human Life is here, very dramatic but the characters are so quirky and interesting, (very Gallic, or Belgian actually) somehow makes it fun too. Enjoying S2.. tantalizing ending! Thanks Uploader! :))x

The Thief of Baghdad (1961)
TisOnlyMe 1 points 3 years ago*.

‘The Thief of Bagdad” Ha-Sheesh, That takes me back.. i used to love Steve Reeves movies when i was a kid. Between the days when it was all cowboys and indians and when the first Bond film appeared in ‘62, there were a few years when ‘sword and sandal’ flicks were all the rage. Made in Italy or Spain and dubbed into English they were mini epics really, often including large casts of extras in crowd and battle scenes. The special effects of the day may appear rudimentary by today’s standards but the were surprisingly effective nonetheless in a more dreamlike than ‘real’ way, and as these films are essentially fairytales it works well. I just re watched this ‘Thief of Bagdad’ and thoroughly enjoyed it, a bit of Love, a bit of villainy, bit of magic.. Sweet! Good old Steve Reeves, wot a hunk! There are a few places where the English dubbing suddenly stops and it all goes Italian for a moment before returning to English.. all part of the experience, like a wonky old midnight movie! Simpler times my friends, Enjoy! :))x

The Answer Man (2009)
TisOnlyMe 1 points 3 years ago.

I really fancied a comedy/romance tonight and i like Lauren Graham so thought this might be the ticket. Sadly it isn’t really a comedy in the sense of it’s just not funny; the main character is such a douche, i tried to like him for over an hour but in the end decided i didn’t care what happened to him so didn’t stick around for the conclusion. Very slow pace, i got bored with it and you’ve seen this same story done better many times elsewhere. Disappointing. :((x

TisOnlyMe 1 points 3 years ago.

Yeah me too, got all dewy-eyed reading the info here, think i’ll have to watch this. Nadia C was an incredible gymnast, a very exciting time in sports, i remember her getting the first perfect 10 score, truly amazing :))x

This film is Extraordinary, Amazing, Moving, Funny.. i saw it when it first came out and watched it once since then.. maybe it’s time for another viewing now i’ve forgotten most of it! Seeing it listed here reminded me.. a GREAT movie if you have a spare evening. I watched it first time with my girlfriend and we both loved it. So there’s a recommendation eh! Have fun :))x

Rail Romanesque (2020)

Romance in the Air (2020)

A new Hallmark movie, the first in quite a while. A routine, fairly pedestrian romance, no surprises, a bit dull but OK.. some amazing views over lake Tahoe made it worthwhile though, beautiful place :))x

Nisekoi (2014)
TisOnlyMe 1 points 3 years ago.

HeyFolks, seeing this posted here i thought i’d make a quick comment. I really enjoyed watching this series as it came out each week a few years ago. A typically clueless teen Japanese lad and the two girls he revolves around. It’s standard anime fare but the storyline is above average so it’s recommended if you enjoy Japanese school/ slice of life/ romantic-comedy/ anime. If that sounds like your thing then you’ll prob enjoy NISEKOi Ciao :))x

Seijo no Maryoku wa Bannou Desu (2021)
TisOnlyMe 1 points 3 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

This is one of the latest anime of this new Spring season, yet another ‘Isekai’ story, ie someone whisked away into some other land/ alternate-reality, a very typical trope in this genre. The first ep of this new series “Seijo no Maryoku wa Bannou Desu” was enjoyable, it looks like it could be an interesting storyline so here’s hoping! One to watch if this is your kinda thing! :))x

My Best Friend's Bouquet (2020)
TisOnlyMe 1 points 3 years ago.

Yesterday i watched another recent Hallmark Original movie, WEDDING EVERY WEEKEND, and enjoyed it thoroughly. Some Hallmark films are fun and fluffy and just get it right, but not all Hallmark Movies are created equal, some of them REALLY SUCK! Sadly this seems like one of the latter.. i’m an old hand at this and i can usually tell straight away if they;’re worth the effort or not. This one, MY BEST FRIEND’S BOUQUET, well i only lasted 3 mins before hitting eject.. maybe i’m just getting tired of watching the nuptials of wealthy, professional Americans finally, one sickly saga too far, but that’s the Hallmark formula, love it or not. If you want a good wedding flick that’s not too icky i’d recommend WEDDING EVERY WEEKEND, this one, er not so much. Happy viewing! :))x

Holly & Ivy (2020)
TisOnlyMe 1 points 3 years ago.

What a nice little Christmas movie is “Holly & Ivy”, a Hallmark movie with a difference. It’s not just the usual ‘boy-meets-girl’ plot-line.. it is, but there’s also another level of interaction going on, that these fluffy stories don’t have, which makes this more moving than the norm. Anything involving children or animals gets me all emotional and this film includes kids and a cute puppy, had me welling up a few times, soppy old git! All-in-all a very pleasant entertainment.. some real heart in this story, maybe it’ll touch something inside you too :))x

Sleepy Princess in the Demon Castle (2020) S1 E1
TisOnlyMe 1 points 3 years ago.

‘SLEEPY PRINCESS in the DEMON CASTLE’ is an unconventional twist on the usual fairytale via Japanese humour and anime. I thought it was cute and Very funny, it made me laugh.. Silly really but kinda fun on a dark, wet October evening! THANKYOU Uploaders :))x

News of the World (2020)
TX2Guns 7 points 3 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

I have always said that the American Western remains one of the most authentic forms of American Storytelling and this movie which was adapted from the novel by the same name by Paulette Giles was a GOOD story. Nothing flashy, gritty or deep, just a simple story of a man and a child trying to make their way in a country recovering from war and terrible loss. For me this story reminded me how much a well told STORY can effect us and very often, help us along on our journey of life. 4/5

A Very Merry Bridesmaid (2021)
TisOnlyMe 1 points 2 years ago.

More Christmas Romance from Hallmark! This time the snow falls on Emily Osment & Casey Deidrick. It’s not too sickly sweet and there’s good chemistry between the 2 main characters, Ms Osment has a certain fragile sincerity that holds one’s attention. I just like to see snow and the houses these people live in! All very Weddingy and Christmasy if that’s your thang :))x

Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic (2012)
TisOnlyMe 1 points 3 years ago.

“MAGI’ was without a doubt one of the best Anime series of the past decade. Great storyline, really vibrant and imaginative.. one of the best alongside ‘SAO’ S1 and the ‘SINBAD’ series, which was also a brilliant magical adventure. If you’re a fan of anime and missed ‘Magi’ or any of the others, CHECK THEM OUT for a lot of great viewing.. Enjoy!! :))x

Finding You (2021)

How old are these characters supposed to be? Imagine goin to a B&B and they tell you you’re not allowed ride the film star who is apparently their only guest, the cheek of them.

TisOnlyMe 1 points 2 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

Not that strange in Ireland, especially as the B&B is run by her aunt and they’re just teenagers. She’s her niece after all, it would be natural for her to watch out for her in that way

Arabian Nights (2000)

Just watched this 2-part version of ARABIAN NIGHTS made by Jim Henson Studio in 2000. It’s Really good! Didn’t see or hear of it before but it’s a great re-telling of familiar old stories set in real locations with some top class actors. Very well done, an enjoyable watch :))x

Harmony from the Heart (2022)
TisOnlyMe 1 points 2 years ago.

Hey, Harmony from the Heart is a typical Hallmark-type production, the usual romantic tosh, same old story. I don’t know why i bother really but occasionally something in these movies surprises you. This one has Jesse Metcalf playing himself as usual, a somewhat repressed musician-type who has difficulty showing his emotions.. same part he’s played in every film i’ve ever seen him in, talk about type-cast! Like i said, the story is predictable and perfect for the Valentine’s Day market. The surprise for me however was the singing and keyboard playing of Jessica Lowndes, i mean she’s Really good, She sings one song towards the end called 11:11, it’s available on Youtube.. sheesh, she has a great voice and it’s a good song too. Anyway, thought i’d mention it cos she’s worth a watch.. but only if you want to sit through a mushy romance as well that is! Enjoy! :))x

Cannes Confidential (2023)
DownrightDebonaire 2 points 11 months ago*.

I was very much looking forward to this show and gave it three episodes, hoping it would fall into it’s own formula. Unfortunately, it never really feels authentic. It feels like someone said hey let’s make a destination show and hired the crew from CSI Miami to film it. The pilot is way too over dramatic and the timing/beats are all off. It stinks of western/Hollywood influence. From the extremely stylized (unnecessary) angled shots from the ground to show the exotic backgrounds to the cheesy one liners with sunglasses.

I was hoping to watch a show where I learned about the location and culture over the course of a season. Instead it’s this trope filled disaster with a mysterious back story about the father that just isn’t attention grabbing. Macdonald & Dobbs, Wong & Winchester, The Spencer Sisters, and DeadLoche are all executed much better, have more than just a single female lead and if you’re not from those countries you learn a bit about their culture and the laws there- they also have plenty of humor and the dialogue is easier to understand because the actors aren’t stumbling their way through rapid fire English dialogue as their 2nd or 3rd language.

It seems like it was made for American audiences but they pumped it full of the formulaic stuff we’re sick of. If you like the first season of Lucifer and the 1st season of CSI Miami look no further than this sloppy mashup

TisOnlyMe 1 points 11 months ago.

The first season of Lucifer was brilliant thankyou very much! :))x

Avatar: The Last Airbender (2005)
TisOnlyMe 1 points 1 month ago.

Possibly the greatest animated series ever! A brilliant story and beautifully realised. Personally i prefer my anime in Japanese with subs, i enjoy their voice-acting, but that’s just my preference. Worth watching, and much better than the new ‘people’ version that’s on NF.. i couldn’t bear it! This is a real classic, so if you’re an anime fan and want a good LONG story to get involved in, well, this is for you! Cheers :))x

Snowkissed (2021)
TisOnlyMe 0 points 3 years ago.

Hey, the latest HALLMARK movie, SNOWKISSED.. Aww, set in mountainous Banff, Canada.. a whole lotta snow, and ROMANCE naturally! With Hallmark flicks, some are really good, others maybe too cheesy. This one wasn’t bad, all likeable characters with convincing dialogue and great scenery.. did i mention there’s SNOW! A good time-waster for anyone who just wants to be able to forget everything for 90 minutes, it worked well for me :))x
