The Cuba Libre Story (2016)
Arcangel2020 2 points 2 years ago.

Interesting how this series has the image of Che Guevara for it’s Ad. It’s pathetic how a lot of people who have never learned anything of History actually glorify him and what he did. If you want to actually learn about the Castro Regime and what Castro’s lapdog Guevara did to the Cuban people and the people of Central and South America before the CIA took him down? Just speak to a lot of the older Cubans who were forced to flee Cuba and during the Mariel Boat Lift of the 80ies who landed in Miami and made something of themselves successfully

Amy Schumer…he just isn’t funny

Johnny Mnemonic (1995)

This movie is SO bad it’s good…lol. Keeanu Reeves stars in this one pre-Matrix Trilogy

Alien Conquest (2021)
Smokeydagrasss 1 points 2 years ago.

Tom sizemore has seen better days. He has hit rock bottom to do this movie. He looks like hes having withdrawals lol.Horrible acting by every character.

Arcangel2020 3 points 2 years ago.

I agree, Sizemore has been in some excellent movies in the past…”Heat” and “Saving Private Ryan” for sure. It’s unfortunate that a really good actor has gone down the path of drug abuse, abusing women and several run-ins with the law in the past. Maybe one day he will clean up his act, get some help and someone in Hollywood will give him a chance to revive what was a promising career.

Dracula (2020)
Dread Pirate Robert 1 points 4 years ago.

Ah, nice one. I didn’t realise they’d released the movie yet. Thanks.

Arcangel2020 1 points 2 years ago.

Have you watched the “Breaking Bad” prequel series “Better Call Saul”? It’s excellent.

Dracula (2020)
greyfur 0 points 4 years ago.

I miss Breaking Bad. Don’t know if you ever saw this or not, but going to give you a link for a movie that picks up where Breaking bad left off, all about Jessie Pinkman. There were some lose ends, ties them up pretty good, all I’m going to say if you have not seen it, I thought it was right good, and really a fitting way to tie the whole thing up.

I really have enjoyed the “Breaking Bad” prequel series “Better Call Saul” it’s SUCH a great series. I think the upcoming new season will be it’s last though.

Ring (1995)

Terrific Japanese Horror film. I like this one as well as the American remake (which has actress Naomi Watts)

The Black Hole (1979)
Arcangel2020 0 points 2 years ago*.

This one is SO bad it’s now good and considered a cult classic by many. This was a made by Disney films back when the studio was near Bankruptcy…the “dark years” at Disney back in the 70ies when they made a whole slew of bad movies and seemed to have lost their way entertainment-wise. This was also made during the height of the first Star Wars film craze when everyone in Hollywood wanted to jump on the Sci-Fi/Star Wars bandwagon. It was also the first ever Disney film that used a swear word too (which was kind of a BIG deal back in the day).

Jimmy Kimmel Live (2003)

Just like Mad Cow and Schumer…She is just not funny

Feral State (2021)
Fugazi_Zombie 3 points 2 years ago.

does this description remind anyone else of Band of the Hand? that was a great movie for a testosterone fueled teenager in the 80s.

Arcangel2020 2 points 2 years ago.

“Band of the Hand” was a surprisingly good 80ies film! I remember first watching it on VHS on my brand new VCR (lol) that I bought at the Base Exchange while stationed at Ramstein Air Base in Germany.

Burning Bright (2012)

So basically..it’s “Crawl” without the Alligator and instead it’s a big, mean Kitty Cat! Right. LOL

Roadkill (2020)

R.I.P Actress Helen McCrory. I haven’t watched this one yet, but I really enjoyed acting and character on Peaky Blinders.

Songbird (2020)
Jhigh03 1 points 3 years ago.

I thought so too. And it’s not just IMBD trolls, the online reviews have been trashing this non-stop. I’m pretty sure there’s an anti Michel Bay campaign of some kind. Alot called this in poor taste and opportunistic, which, ok fair. But how bout the logistics of filming this in lockdown. And the pretty great cast they were able to pull together .

Arcangel2020 1 points 3 years ago.

I totally agree with your “I’m pretty sure there’s an Anti-Michael Bay campaign” comment. Michael Bay is like..Zach Snyder, JJ Abrams, George Lucas and several other Directors that all have a built-in, automatic Hater base/Online Trolls who will trash a movie or tv show if it has their names on it without even having watched. Also, these are the SAME individuals who will trash a film by Bay or who trashed the Star Wars and new Star Trek films..but I can almost guarantee 100% that they are the same ones who went to Midnight Screenings/First showings or went to see the film opening weekend too

Army of the Dead (2021)
Arcangel2020 2 points 3 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

Definitely looking forward to seeing this one! I really liked what he and James Gunn did as far as the remake of “Dawn of the Dead” went and everything I have heard about this one so far? is that it is totally over the top and gory in a good way.

House of Cards (2013)
Arcangel2020 2 points 3 years ago.

This was actually a really good series, up until the whole Kevin Spacey scandal and then the last season..with Spacey was dropped from and erased from the show..it just felt like it kind of “went off the rails” at the end. Still…it’s definitely worth watching, I think.

The Jayne Mansfield Story (1980)

Wow, I had NO idea that Arnold Schwarzenegger was in this one

Cosmic Princess (1982)
Arcangel2020 2 points 3 years ago.

I used to watch the “Space: 1999” series as a kid and thought it was really cool (this was around the time back when “Star Wars” came out in the theater) and I was just getting into watching the old re-runs of the original “Star Trek” series too. I remember there was a lot of similarities between this series and Star Trek.
Nowadays, when I am able to catch the old episodes of “Space: 1999”? It’s still fun to watch and it is definitely a “child of the 70ies” era what with the way the actors/actresses look as well as the sets…campy, cheesy bad it’s good fun to watch

Without Remorse (2021)
Arcangel2020 8 points 3 years ago.

Nope. As a fan of author Tom Clancy’s older novels, this one just failed on so many levels

John Wayne Gacy: Devil in Disguise (2021)
Peevee 3 points 3 years ago.

They recently announced a third season of Mindhunter is in very early development

Arcangel2020 0 points 3 years ago.

Really? That’s excellent news! I was under the impression that the series ended/was cancelled after only two seasons.

John Wayne Gacy: Devil in Disguise (2021)
TX2Guns 5 points 3 years ago*.

If you like Mindhunter, check this series out. FBI agent Robert Ressler was involved in the main interview. A very well put together Documentary where you might actually learn a thing or two you did not know before about this bizarre case.

Arcangel2020 1 points 3 years ago.

I really liked “Mindhunter” and it was total BS that Netflix cancelled such a terrific series, it had such incredible potential too. Thanks for suggesting this one and looking forward to watching it.

Snowfall (2017) S4 E10
Arcangel2020 0 points 3 years ago.

Agreed! A Terrific season finale. This show is excellent and I would rank it right up there with other past FX series like “The Shield”, “Sons of Anarchy” and “Justified”.

Mutiny (1999)
Arcangel2020 1 points 3 years ago.

This was another tragic Naval incident that took place during WWII and I believe it took place at the Concord Weapons Depot in Concord, CA which is located in The SF Bay Area. I remember passing by that installation as a little kid on the way up to the Russian River area and thinking how cool the weapons bunkers all looked from the outside while driving by

Mission of the Shark: The Saga of the U.S.S. Indianapolis (1991)
Alien 2 points 3 years ago.

This is a harrowing and sad tale, to say the least. I wouldn’t mind seeing a remake but only if it had as much heart as this one. You can’t skimp on compassion just to prove the old adage “War is hell.”

Arcangel2020 1 points 3 years ago*.

There is another film about this tragic, war time Naval incident that was made back in 2016 “USS Indianapolis: Men of Courage” with Nicholas Cage, Thomas Jane and Tom Sizemore in it.

The Search for Mengele (1985)

just an fyi, Laurence Olivier

Arcangel2020 0 points 3 years ago.

Thanks for the correction! :)

The Search for Mengele (1985)
Arcangel2020 0 points 3 years ago*.

A Good documentary (A shame that Mengele was never caught and convicted for the War Crimes he committed). Oh and if you want to watch a good classic fictional thriller about the hunt for Mengele? I totally recommend watching “The Boys From Brazil” which has a great cast in it..Gregory Peck and (Sir) Laurence Olivier.

The Donner Party (1992)
Arcangel2020 -6 points 3 years ago.

I noticed that the description this one states “the most unfavorable Sierra Nevada winter in history”…wonder what the Global Warming enthusiasts have to say about THAT bit of historical reference. Anyway, this is a good docudrama about a tragic historical event that actually took place.

“CNN Original Series”….just those three words alone make me giggle-snort

Deadly Excursion: Kidnapped from the Beach (2021)

This reminds me of the kind of film/films you would see if you had tickets to go to the Fort Lauderdale Film Festival

River's Edge (1987)
Arcangel2020 1 points 3 years ago.

Terrific 80ies era film with a good cast too.
I grew up in Fremont CA which is not to far away from Milpitas and I remember when the events which are the basis for this movie took place too.

Scanners (1981)
Arcangel2020 1 points 3 years ago.

Total Classic 80ies Horror gem from Director Cronenberg! Love this movie.

Naked Lunch (1992)
Arcangel2020 1 points 3 years ago.

Oddly enough? This very odd, very strange movie makes more sense than the damn book written by Burroughs! LOL (Man, I read that novel back in the 90ies and it gave me a headache even though it is considered a seminal piece of work by the author)

Johnny Cash: American Rebel (2015)
Arcangel2020 2 points 3 years ago.

How can you possibly “explain” the life of SUCH an American/Country Music Icon in only 86 minutes?

Tyler Perry's Ruthless (2020)
SpecialEFX 8 points 3 years ago*.

Tyler Perry’s writing is absolute shite. Everything I’ve seen so far seems like a “film school” experiment. How TF is this man so successful when his shows are such crap? Case in point the abysmal Too Close To Home. Clearly his demographic audience can’t be this gullible. Madea may have put him on the map but since creating his own studio and production company he’s proven it’s quantity over quality and it shows.

Arcangel2020 1 points 3 years ago.

Everything you wrote is spot on and I agree 100%.
Although I did happen to like the movie “Alex Cross” that came out several years ago…it was a failed attempt to re-start/re-boot the Alex Cross franchise which Morgan Freeman was in and played an older version of Detective Cross back in the 90ies era

World War Z (2013)
Arcangel2020 -4 points 3 years ago.

This one is just a major fiasco and one of THE worst zombie films made…imho.
First of all, if you have ever read the terrific novel “World War Z” (which was written by author Max Brooks who is the son of Director Mel Brooks and Anne Bancroft)? I highly suggest you skip this movie OR watch it and seen just how BAD this horrible adaptation is. This movie is “World War Z” in name only and no where near..not even a fraction of how good the novel was

The Falcon and The Winter Soldier (2021) S1 E4
Arcangel2020 1 points 3 years ago.

So far? I am pretty impressed with this series, unlike “WandaVision” (which was most definitely a “slow burn” but worth it if you stick with it..imho.)? This series has started out strong and episode has not disappointed.
This fourth episode? The ending? All I have to say is…Wow! Can’t wait to see how then next episode plays out!

WandaVision (2021)
Arcangel2020 1 points 3 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

I liked this limited run series. It’s a “slow burn” but highly recommend you stick with it until the end and especially watch everything that happens in the last episode (there are Bumpers at the end that may led to both Captain Marvel 2 and Dr Strange 2)

Battlefield Earth (2000)
Arcangel2020 0 points 3 years ago.

The novel was actually a really GOOD book to read…the movie? Ehhhhh…HARD NO! lol

At the Earth's Core (1976)
Arcangel2020 0 points 3 years ago.

I remember seeing this movie in the theater as a little kid and absolutely LOVED the monsters AND the storyline (Now of course, it is SUCH a cheesy BAD film..it’s hysterically fun/good to watch)! In fact, it made me get into Edgar Rice Burroughs’s novels when I was a kid too. I also had a HUGE crush on Italian actress Caroline Munroe who was SO hot back in the 70ies too (a year later she appeared in the classic Roger Moore James Bond film “The Spy Who Loved Me”)

If so, I would like to watch that first, before I see this one…

Winchester (2018)
Arcangel2020 2 points 3 years ago.

I’ve actually been to the Winchester house…or as it is commonly referred to “The Winchester Mystery House” which is in San Jose, CA.
A few things that are interesting about the place?
A.) It sits right in a busy part of town and right next to a Shopping Mall & Movie Theater complex
B.) The construction of the house was never actually completed up to Mary Winchesters death..so a lot of doors and windows in the house lead nowhere or open up in a wall
C.) The house is supposed to be “haunted” and one the fun things to do on Halloween was do take the “Haunted Tour” of the house in the hopes that you would actually encounter the ghosts in the place

The Falcon and The Winter Soldier (2021) S1 E1
ezl88 1 points 3 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

I wouldn’t necessarily say it’s bad, but it certainly isn’t good. The premise seems neat initially until you realize the entire purpose of the show is a glorified commercial for the next MCU movie. I love comics and enjoy the MCU movies, but couldn’t recommend WandaVision to anyone. As far as fan theories go, they’re more or less all BS. The story is adapted from the House of M comic arc, so it’s nothing new. Definitely recommend checking out that comic arc if you end up liking WandaVision.

Arcangel2020 2 points 3 years ago.

Appreciate your honest opinion/thoughts on “WandaVision”

The Falcon and The Winter Soldier (2021) S1 E1
RobberDeNiro -6 points 3 years ago.

Great start to an anticipated series, unlike that God awful WandaVision🤣 I just wish they’d release it all at once😢

Arcangel2020 3 points 3 years ago.

Is “WandaVision” THAT bad? I have yet to watch it and I have tried to remain Spoiler-free from all the reviews and “Fan Theories” about the series that I’ve seen online.

The Falcon and The Winter Soldier (2021) S1 E1
Arcangel2020 3 points 3 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

Interesting first episode…I liked the feel of it..certain parts of it (especially the beginning of the episode) felt very much like “Avengers: Endgame” while other parts reminded me of “Spiderman: Far from Home”. Looking forward to seeing more episodes and how Sam & Bucky unite to become the series title characters together

Undead (2003)
