Yellowbeard's comments

Lovecraft Country (2020) S1 E6
Yellowbeard 2 points 3 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

First time in a long time I watched something subtitled without Godzilla or lots of kung fu… Good story though - one of the ways you can die during sex is called a “Subarachnoid haemorrhage” - the arachnoid part came back to me when I saw them spider legs coming out of that girls eyeballs (SPOILERS!)

Lucifer (2016)
sasabrzi 2 points 3 years ago.
Yellowbeard 2 points 3 years ago.

Not even filmed yet - covid19 did them in. According to a comment up the page there won’t be any episodes until early 2021.

Stay Woke: The Black Lives Matter Movement (2016)
Yellowbeard 3 points 3 years ago*. (Contains Spoilers)

Kinda reminds me of Northern Ireland in here with the hatred and division, and they have a recent history of kneecappings, car bombs, state sponsored murder and assassinations. We didn’t have enough black folks here for real racism back in the day, so we used to practice on each other.

Raised by Wolves (2020)
Yellowbeard 14 points 3 years ago.

I like, it got my science fiction noodle going. It’s quite original, there seems to be baddies and goodies on both sides - I think I have figured out a couple of the plot items that haven’t been revealed yet, I will not spoil… I am hoping for me to be wrong about these and for the plot to take a few twists - roll on next week…
(Nutflux has us all spoiled releasing all episodes at once I says!)

The Boys (2019)
Yellowbeard 2 points 3 years ago*.

Delighted! Those guys have to have their own kryptonite - a couple of them it’s probably carbs… White sliced for the win!

Mortal (2020)
Yellowbeard 2 points 3 years ago*.

That was a good little movie from André Øvredal, the director of Trollhunter which I enjoyed very much too. Somebody oughta give him a heap of money to make a movie, but maybe Hollywood whizz-bang would spoil his style. He has a fine understated way with the folklore of Scandinavia. I am going to seek out his other works now - pass me my brogues I am on a quest… Recommended - 5/5.

Lovecraft Country (2020) S1 E3
Yellowbeard 4 points 3 years ago*.

I can’t fault it apart from having to wait until next week for another episode. Jurnee Smollett handed over some award winning acting, I would nae mess with her. Did I mention this show also has a cracking soundtrack?

Bill & Ted Face the Music (2020)
Yellowbeard 5 points 3 years ago.

I enjoyed that - it is what it is (A Bill & Ted movie). Giving it 4 stars - I am not harsh with entertainment, if it was that bad then I should have known better than to click on it or watch it all the way through. I saw Keanu doing press for this, he is in Germany shooting the 4th matrix movie then he starts John Wick 4 after that, this film would have been like a holiday for him…

Lovecraft Country (2020) S1 E2
Yellowbeard 4 points 3 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

There is an after credit scene again kids! I am digging this show, it has a flavour of the twilight zone with a side of magic mushrooms. Spoilers: The snake was funny…

Justice League Dark
MonkyNutz 2 points 3 years ago.

Anyone know what date this is set to be released?

Yellowbeard 0 points 3 years ago.

No man, the studio are keeping their cards pressed right into their teats on this one, IMDB got nothing - except Guillermo Del Toro wanted to make this since the books came out, and the official site has nothing except the books. Anybody saying anything about this is lying and guessing and spoofing…

Superman: Man of Tomorrow (2020)
Yellowbeard 5 points 3 years ago.

That’s my Saturday night sorted. They seem to be spitting these out at quite a rate, Superman: Red Son was almost exactly 6 months ago… https://www.primewire.ag/movie/1337940-watch-superman-red-son

Lovecraft Country (2020) S1 E1
Yellowbeard 7 points 3 years ago.

Technically brilliant, effects, script, acting, camera work - it got it all. The best bit of original TV since watchmen. I knew what was coming from the synopsis but I still jumped when it happened. There is an after credit scene for the series ahead - I will be watching.

Marvel's Spider-Man (2017)
Yellowbeard 2 points 3 years ago.

Spidah-man! I forgot this was back, thanks very much - that’s another 20 minutes of virus time done…

Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (2013) S7 E12
Yellowbeard 2 points 3 years ago.

Whooo hoo - gimme dat! This is episode 12 and 13 cut together - 1:24 minutes.

DC's Stargirl (2020) S1 E13
greyfur 0 points 3 years ago.

Not sure I understand, does that mean it will not be aired on TV networks?

Yellowbeard 1 points 3 years ago.

No Senór greyfur - the series will be on the same TV network next year, it won’t be on the dc universe (streaming) service. It just means that there will not be a webrip available a day early when it returns.

The Alienist (2018) S2 E8
Yellowbeard 2 points 3 years ago.

I enjoyed that from beginning to end, the way they build the suspense is fantastic. Even the very ending leaves you guessing if they are going to make another season. Very good - giving it 5/5.

The New Legends of Monkey (2018)
Yellowbeard 1 points 3 years ago.

I been waiting on this - I like the silliness and the characters. I watched the dubbed TV version back in the day and a half dozen movies so I must be a fan. The star actor Chai Hansen is getting lots of action parts on TV lately - there must be odds on him getting into a Marvel/DC production.

Star Trek: Lower Decks (2020) S1 E1
Yellowbeard 1 points 3 years ago.

Rick and Morty meets The Orville on a starfleet ship. I am going to give it a chance, its the bourgeoisie vs. the lumpenproletariat and they are taking the mickey out of starfleet. That captain guy looks like he might be a descendant of Professor Utonium (the Powerpuff Girls pappy) He has the same square head on him…

Doom Patrol (2019) S2 E9
Yellowbeard 2 points 3 years ago.

That finished kinda strange, but that’s okay - it was strange all the way through. I would like an ounce of whatever they are smoking and one of them brown acids…

Star Trek: Discovery (2017)
Yellowbeard 4 points 3 years ago.

Hoooo - weeeee! Season 3 of discovery is coming on 15th October - there will be 13 episodes airing every Thursday. I am delighted so I am…

The Alienist (2018) S2 E4
Yellowbeard 2 points 3 years ago*.

There is only 8 episodes - but there is 3 more books if they want to make more series. One book came out in 2016 and the author is working on two more. I am enjoying this, it is darkitty dark dark dark.

DC's Stargirl (2020) S1 E11
Yellowbeard 2 points 3 years ago.

Good episode - they are building it up for the season finale in 2 weeks time.

Detection of Di Renjie (2020)
Yellowbeard 1 points 3 years ago.

I never met a Detective Dee movie I didn’t like. This hasn’t got the big CGI effects budgets of some of the previous films, but it is a good story well acted with twists a plenty. The swordplay and detectiving is everything you’d want, and I personally didn’t guess “whodunnit” at all. Giving it the 4 stars…

Blindspot (2015) S5 E11
Yellowbeard 1 points 3 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

I no like. There is not going to be any more blindspot - that’s it, sín é, finito. So is she or isn’t she? I couldn’t tell…

Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (2013) S7 E9
greyfur 2 points 3 years ago.

Do all the links have the subs embedded now? Tried to turn them of in Mixdrop,no luck at all with that. A bit annoying.

Yellowbeard 2 points 3 years ago.

Thems hardcoded French subtitles - they are embedded in the video. There will be another release for this soon, if subtitles annoy you look for the version that does not have “Subfrench” in the title when you go to the hosting site. Price you pay for an early release I guess…

DC's Stargirl (2020) S1 E10
Yellowbeard 3 points 3 years ago.

Whoohoo - these shows are my soap operas, need my fix…

The Alienist (2018) S2 E1
Yellowbeard 2 points 3 years ago.

Glad this is back, it’s dark and twisty - you never know who they will kill off, and we get two episodes a week by the looks of it. Fresh entertainment is scarce with the virus shutdown, so relief and joy!

The Crimson Permanent Assurance (Short 1983)
Yellowbeard 6 points 3 years ago.

Monty Python I’ve never seen? I’m impressed!

Doom Patrol (2019) S2 E5
Yellowbeard 4 points 3 years ago.

Another early delivery? You have us spoiled! :p

Return of the Chinese Boxer (1977)
Yellowbeard 1 points 3 years ago*.

Follows on from the 1973 film “The hammer of god” A.K.A. “The Chinese boxer” - part 1 is on here, but there are no links - ifn you want it you gotta click the request links here thing…

Doom Patrol (2019) S2 E4
Yellowbeard 2 points 3 years ago.

I love it when my shows turn up early - thanks to all the staff and the whole internet! :)

7500 (2020)
Yellowbeard 3 points 3 years ago.

That was a good little movie - I am giving it 4/5. Some of the plot lines are a bit cliched, but it is suspenseful and claustrophobic and the acting is exceptional. If you do watch, imagine being that pilot - you’d kack yourself…

Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga (2020)
Yellowbeard 1 points 3 years ago.

Shakes head / Walks away / Changes channel - I only ever watch the voting…

Marvel's Spider-Man (2017) S3 E3
Yellowbeard 0 points 3 years ago.

That was cool as Beavis used to say - plenty of action. This is a double length episode - 44 minutes.

Forged in Fire: Beat the Judges (2020) S1 E3
Yellowbeard 1 points 3 years ago.

Bloody marvelous - and thanks very much!

Maximillian (2019)
Yellowbeard 0 points 3 years ago.

Well that was stupid, I thought it might have been so bad it was good - like stinky cheese. I was wrong though, it’s just bad. There is an after credit scene that might be a set-up for a sequel - please God no…

Forged in Fire: Beat the Judges (2020)
Yellowbeard 1 points 3 years ago.

There is episode 1 now…

Forged in Fire: Beat the Judges (2020)
Yellowbeard 1 points 3 years ago*.

Episode 1 is out there - I got mine via torrent, Admin should have it for you all soon… (Prods Admin with a stick)… Enjoying this, but they missed a trick not having the competitors go against Doug at hacking up a pig carcass.

Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (2013)
Yellowbeard 1 points 3 years ago.

Whooo hooo! I feel like I should watch the last episode of the previous season though - I don’t remember what day it is, never mind what Phil Coulson did 9 months ago…

Snowpiercer (2020)
Yellowbeard 5 points 4 years ago.

I give up on this, it is well written, shot, acted etc. but it is a pig in a poke. They have taken a science fiction movie I liked and turned into a cop show, they may as well shave the stars head, stick him in a buick century and call him Kojak. Disappointing.

Batwoman (2019)
Yellowbeard 1 points 4 years ago.

Ten bucks on YKJack…

Proximity (2020)
Yellowbeard 1 points 4 years ago.

That was alright for a cheap science fictioner, maybe a bit formulaic except for that one time when… No I ain’t gonna say - but I didn’t like that plot item very much, and I didn’t expect it either. I hope I have intrigued you enough to watch it - don’t blame me when you are saying “Awww FFS”.

Primal: Tales of Savagery (2020)
Alien 1 points 4 years ago.

I’m hoping this isn’t the series from last year spliced together to make a movie. We shall see.

Yellowbeard 1 points 4 years ago.

It is - IMDB says it :p

Bad Influencer (2019)
Justice League Dark: Apokolips War (2020)
Yellowbeard 5 points 4 years ago.

Hell yeah! I had a sweat on at the end of that movie. Why can’t DC hand over something like that in live action? 5 stars I says.

Extraction (2020)
Yellowbeard 9 points 4 years ago.

I liked it, good action - guns, knives, hand to hand, a high body count and a few nice killings. It also had humanity and a story - Hemsworth did good without his big hammer. Giving it 5/5.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars (2008) S7 E10
factorjosh 3 points 4 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

seriously, when are they going to fix streamplay?

Yellowbeard 1 points 4 years ago.

works for me - but it is riddled with pop-ups.

The Flash (2014) S6 E16
Yellowbeard 3 points 4 years ago.

Whooo hooo an early release…

The Ascent of Man (1973)
Yellowbeard 2 points 4 years ago*.

One of the finest documentary series ever made, The Ascent Of Man was a cultural phenomena when it first aired in 1973 - it was even skitted by Monty Python. It was commissioned by David Attenborough himself when he was the controller of the brand new BBC2 channel. The series set a new benchmark for high quality documentaries from the BBC, Attenborough touched it.

The presenter Jacob Bronowski was one of the scientists sent into Nagasaki and Hiroshima to do bomb damage assessment. After seeing this devastation he turned his back on military and government work and became a biologist. His delivery at points in this series will make your hair stand up, you can see the intellect shining out of the man. Bronowski was dead of a heart attack a year after this series aired - he left us this and his books. If you like documentaries watch it - it’s sublime and a masterpiece.

Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion's Revenge (2020)
Yellowbeard 2 points 4 years ago*.

Nice! Buckets of blood up the walls, guys getting their skulls ripped out of their head, dat boss guy with the four arms - it’s mortal kombat alright…
