So basically..it’s “Crawl” without the Alligator and instead it’s a big, mean Kitty Cat! Right. LOL

The Book of Boba Fett (2021) S1 E2
Arcangel2020 0 points 2 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

Good episode. I really liked how we got to see how The Tusken Raider culture more. Sure we caught a glimpse during “Revenge of the Sith” and a little more in “The Mandalorian” too. But, I liked how this episode fleshed out the Raiders themselves and shows how they are NOT quite the savage creatures portrayed in the original and prequel movies.

2 Broke Girls (2011)
Arcangel2020 0 points 3 years ago.

Hysterically funny series! Love Kat Denning and Beth Behrs as Max & Caroline. I also thought that the supporting cast was pretty funny as well.

Inside Man (2006)
Arcangel2020 0 points 3 years ago.

This is actually a well done movie, considering it was Directed by Spike Lee.

Van Helsing (2004)
Arcangel2020 0 points 3 years ago.

Such a BAD movie on so many levels…unfortunately. Neither Kate Beckinsdale (Mmmmmmmm….Kate Beckinsdale!) nor Hugh Jackman could save THIS movie.

Black Ink Crew Los Angeles (2019)
Arcangel2020 0 points 3 years ago.

And here I thought Miami Ink was really bad and really cheesy (I even knew a person who worked as a PA on that series when it was in production) but THIS “show”? Is just plain God awful garbage when it comes to Scripted “Reality-Based” shows.

Faust (2001)
Arcangel2020 0 points 3 years ago.

Word of advice? If you’re able to find the Adult Graphic Comics this movie was based on? Do yourself a favor and check it out/read the series…I remember reading them back in the early 90ies and they were great.

Though you only know her playing stuff with an American accent, Ironically she’s English xD

Arcangel2020 0 points 2 years ago.

Yes, I knew that from some of the Interviews I have seen her in.

Animal Control (2023)
Arcangel2020 0 points 9 months ago.

This is a pretty good show. It has potential.
I like the cast. I like Joel McHale (I remember his stint as the host from the terrific E! Network series “The Soup”. I miss that show) and both Vella Lovell and Grace Palmer are total hotties too

The Black Hole (1979)
Arcangel2020 0 points 2 years ago*.

This one is SO bad it’s now good and considered a cult classic by many. This was a made by Disney films back when the studio was near Bankruptcy…the “dark years” at Disney back in the 70ies when they made a whole slew of bad movies and seemed to have lost their way entertainment-wise. This was also made during the height of the first Star Wars film craze when everyone in Hollywood wanted to jump on the Sci-Fi/Star Wars bandwagon. It was also the first ever Disney film that used a swear word too (which was kind of a BIG deal back in the day).

Infernal Affairs (2002)
Arcangel2020 0 points 3 years ago.

Terrific movie.
I believe this was the inspiration for American Director Martin Scorsese and his film “The Departed”

The Bikes of Wrath (2019)
Arcangel2020 0 points 8 months ago.

It doesn’t matter if you live in a “Red” State or a “Blue” State. What matters is when people act like how they are supposed to act in general…it’s called being a Human Being towards one another

Pompeii (2014)
StoneWalker7 3 points 2 years ago.

I put off watching this one for so long. When it was released it had such negative reviews but honestly I dont think its all that bad. Some strong acting performances and yes I would like to have seen some more character building but all in all a solid film. 75/100.

Arcangel2020 0 points 1 year ago.

Totally agree. The movie is fairly good…imho. I liked it.

Space: 1999 (1975)
Arcangel2020 0 points 8 months ago.

I loved this series as a little kid! Still enjoy watching the old episodes, it’s seriously “dated” what with the acting and SFX, but it’s campy 70ies era Scif-Fi goodness and love the Theme song too.

Pam & Tommy (2022)
Arcangel2020 0 points 1 year ago.

This was a pretty good series. Sebastian Stan did a really good job portraying Tommy Lee and Lily James did an excellent job as Pamela Anderson/Pamela Anderson Lee and she did a great job portraying her too.

61st Street (2022)
YELLOWbird 2 points 2 years ago*.

4/5
This is really gritty stuff. Reminds me of The Wire. Courtney B. Vance is an excellent actor, but it is the Brit Tosin Cole that commands the first episode. Bentley Green who plays the younger brother Joshua just grabs you emotionally with his expressive face.

Arcangel2020 0 points 1 year ago.

I recently binge watched the entire “The Wire” series, it was terrific and well worth all the hype I heard from people over the years. Will definitely give this one a try

I am surprised this one doesn’t have Vivica Fox in it or Taraji Henson…LOL

The Cursed (2022)
PonderThis 0 points 3 years ago.

This sounds interesting and with Kelly Reilly in it, (known for Yellowstone & Britannia) it surely can’t be a bad movie. She usually plays a badass bitch (in a good way) so I wouldn’t expect anything less of her in this movie.

Arcangel2020 0 points 2 years ago.

I was going to comment/post the same thing…but you beat me to the punch when it comes to Kelly Reilly. I really like her as Beth Dutton on “Yellowstone” (that show is freakin’ excellent, not a bad episode yet in any of the Four Seasons so far…which is pretty amazing for a tv series..imho). I only know of her acting from playing an American character, I am definitely intereted in checking out her acting on the series “Britannia” for sure.

The Menu (2022)
Arcangel2020 0 points 9 months ago.

The first time I watched this movie? I wasn’t sure what to make of it..I thought at first it was kind of a strange storyline/setting and a bit of a slow burn and after I watched? I was left with “WTF did I just watch?” feeling.
Then I rewatched it and was like, yeah, this is a pretty good movie..weird and twisted with definitely an odd ending (NOT going to give away any spoilers. If/When you watch? You’ll know what I am talking about). It has a really good cast and I definitely recommend it.

Witchblade (2000)
Arcangel2020 0 points 3 years ago.

This was a pretty good TV series that aired on TNT many years back. It’s a shame that the series was cancelled after only 2 seasons…part of which was due to actress Yancy Butler’s issues with alcoholism

The Legend of Billie Jean (1985)
Arcangel2020 0 points 1 year ago.

Love this movie! Total Cheesy 80ies goodness.
I remember seeing Pat Benetar perform live at a free concert in Pasadena many summers ago. During the performance with her husband Neil Gerardo and the band, she mentioned to the audience right before they played the song “Invincible” that the song was from the “horrible movie “The Legend of Billie Jean” and very tongue in cheek said “Don’t hate us for that” lol

The Challenge (1998)

“I was fighting for yo, and you know dat”. Truly an Oscar Worthy line & moment….the script and the acting are worth at least 24 Oscar Awards

Bruiser (2023)

“director Miles Warren’s searing feature debut…”
Searing? Yeah, it was boring, not “searing” as the description proclaims.

Infection (2007)

Why does the Avatar for this one say “Invasion”, but the Plot/Synopsis says “Infection”? “Invasion”..”Infection”..two different titles..equals Confusion. Ha!

Modern Family (2009)
Arcangel2020 0 points 1 year ago.

I recently “discovered” this series and have been binge watching it (currently finishing Season 5). This show is/was pure comedic Gold! The cast is really good and the storylines of each episode has been hysterically funny. Love this show!

Hancock (2008)
Arcangel2020 0 points 3 years ago.

I remember seeing part of this movie being filmed in Downtown LA on Whilshire Blvd., fast forward to when the movie was released in the theater and…well…I was disappointed with it to say the least.

Das Boot (2018) S2 E5
PonderThis 1 points 3 years ago.

I love it when I catch a blooper! And good know it happens in other countries too. There is supposed to be a piece of potato on his fork and magically it has disappeared and no, he didn’t eat it either.

Arcangel2020 0 points 3 years ago.

Another “Blooper” I have caught in this series..is when Sam and his father mention “The Air Force” (Being an Air Force Vet myself, I picked up on that one right away) in WWII there was no “Air Force”, it was call the Army Air Corp. With all that said…I still love this show and think it is excellent.

The Americans (2013) S6 E10

Undead (2003)

I remember watching this one several years ago, was hoping for a really good Aussie Zombie movie…instead? I thought it was just..bizarre.

Godfather of Harlem (2019) S1 E10
Arcangel2020 0 points 3 years ago.

Fairly decent way to the end of the first season of “Godfather of Harlem”. I thought the show was fairly decent, the only thing I had “issue” with was the fact that some things that transpired in some on the episodes was fiction/made up for dramatization and never really happened.
With all that said, I am looking forward to watching season two when it drops

Godfather of Harlem (2019) S1 E1
Arcangel2020 0 points 3 years ago.

I like good Crime Drama/Gangster Drama type movies and shows. The first episode was pretty good, I like the cast, the storyline/series setting and I am cautiously optimistic about the rest of the show (I am not really a big fan of Forest Whitaker…I have seen him in a number of movies over the years and there is just something about the way he delivers his lines/his cadence that has annoyed me (similar to the way George Clooney “acts”)

Deathsport (1978)
Arcangel2020 0 points 3 years ago.

Wow!! I remember this one from when I was a kid!! I saw it in the theater as part of a double feature and I remember that even as a kid, I thought it was really REALLY BAD! LOL
I am glad I found this one so I can watch it again.

The Mandalorian (2019) S2 E1
Xsile 1 points 3 years ago.

OMFG! This was such a good episode! So many things in this where so good my head is swirling with nostalgia and pure unadulterated excitement!

Arcangel2020 0 points 3 years ago.

Ahhhhhhhh….keep watching, the second season is/was terrific! Oh and just wait until you get to the last episode.

Evolving Vegan (2023)
Arcangel2020 -3 points 17 days ago.

So, a dude with a chicks name is going to “travel the U.S. with his/her’s very own “cooking” show? Like that’s not something that hasn’t already been done a hundred times over already. Also, wonder if he/she will also show how those “Plant based” products (that are supposedly a healthy options vs eating meat) are mass processed and produced in factories and how much of a joke they are too.

World War Z (2013)
Arcangel2020 -4 points 3 years ago.

This one is just a major fiasco and one of THE worst zombie films made…imho.
First of all, if you have ever read the terrific novel “World War Z” (which was written by author Max Brooks who is the son of Director Mel Brooks and Anne Bancroft)? I highly suggest you skip this movie OR watch it and seen just how BAD this horrible adaptation is. This movie is “World War Z” in name only and no where near..not even a fraction of how good the novel was

Creepshow (2019)
Arcangel2020 -5 points 3 years ago.

Absolute 100% Pure GARBAGE! AMC Network aired the first season on cable over the past summer…I was excited to hear/learn about this since I am a fan of both movies that came out in the theater in the 80ies and are classics imho. Well, having watched the series for free (The Shudder Network’s big thing was..subscribe to their streaming network to watch this show)? All I can say is, to be honest? Don’t even waste your time watching it! None of the episodes are good, the acting is terrible and the special effects are absolute crap! If I had signed up for Shudder to watch this series on their streaming service? I would’ve been pissed and immediately cancel my subscription.

Total Recall (1990)
somniloquist 9 points 3 years ago*.

A Plea on Behalf of Practical Effects: This film is thirty years old, and most of it looks like it could be made today. It features prosthetics, model builds, puppetry, matte painting, and all kinds of makeup effects. And they ALL hold up. The only places that look even slightly dated are anything approaching CGI, which was mostly likely just blue screen at the time.
Technology will always move at a fast pace, and CGI in movies from just five years ago has already started to look laughable. Sure, maybe it’s a little cheaper and a little faster. But if studios would go back to investing in the artists that make effects in movies like Total Recall, there would be so many more things standing the tests of time.

Arcangel2020 -1 points 2 years ago.

I understand your views/thoughts on the whole CGI thing, let’s face it…there are movies and tv shows that have used some OR a lot of really awful/bad CGI effects (especially during the 90ies and early 2000’s). When Practical and CGI are used together and successfully? It works 100%.
Funny thing about people who are anti-CGI (which I am not saying you are here) and for example those who complained that Director George Lucas ruined Star Wars with the Prequels and “over use of CGI”. More Practical Effects were used in those movies than a lot of people realize (especially those whiners who hate all things George Lucas but saw all 9 movies in the theaters…LOL) and blended the Practical Effects with CGI.

Mr. Destiny (1990)

Terrific 90ies era movie. One of the few Jim Belushi films that is actually pretty good.

Das Boot (2018) S2 E8
Arcangel2020 -1 points 3 years ago.

And that is how the second season of a terrific series ends. Wow. All 8 episodes of season 2 (just like with season 1) were all well done! Now I am stuck waiting for season 3 to hurry up and drop.

STOP! Do not pass GO! Do NOT collect your $200 Dollars and most definitely avoid THIS horrible mess of a movie at all costs or…watch it if your are extremely bored or a masochist who enjoys losing 102 minutes of your life that you will never EVER git back again…EVER. Yeah, this movie is that bad. LOL
