DownrightDebonaire 1 points 2 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

I really hope not. I’m so freaking sick of Grod and Grundy. They are being used across all DC platforms the past 5 years and they (to me) both suck as live action villains. Gotham, Flash, Legends, Swamp thing, Supergirl, Stargirl — to me the two have fallen short on all of them.

DC please let it go.

I found the music distractingly out of place in the first half of the episode. Loved the back story and club scenes. The mech scenes were just weird.

Gotta say, though, this past season of Titans was way better than previous ones.

DownrightDebonaire 2 points 2 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

not crazy about the story line. I think maybe a few “monster of the week” episodes would be better but they are used more on shows with a 20+ episode run er season. The build up of a big bad villain across a 8-12 episode season is so much of a gamble and runs the risk of isolating/not living up to the expectation of a good chunk of the audience. I wish there was something in the middle cause this season was EH for me. I didn’t like the guy playing Scarecrow at all.

Great start. Looking forward to the rest of this adventurous season. Nice to see Hailee Steinfeld as Kate Bishop. She did a phenomenal job as Emily Dickinson. I wonder, is she doing her own aerobatic battle stunts, or, is that her stunt double?

I had to look her up because I was CONVINCED this was the same girl from Lost in Space and she had dyed her hair brunette.

Peacemaker (2022)
irdulili 2 points 2 years ago.

I dunno. Doom Patrol was just weird and Titans is basically a CW drama. They’re alright but not good like this. This is extra AF, from the fruity intro to the after-credit scene, it goes hard and keeps you giggling. I just wonder how long they’ll be able to keep this energy up. I know John Cena can. He’s been popping up like Dio for years. But can D.C.?

DownrightDebonaire 4 points 2 years ago.

I agree Doom Patrol is weird AF but I’m loving Titans. It’s gritty and dark as hell for a show with a mixed age range. I wouldn’t compare it to CW stuff which blatantly uses teen sex appeal to get larger audiences. Riverdale, Legacies, Nancy Drew etc.

Doubtful Samantha will ever appear. Kim Catrall does not get along with SJP irl. It’s well documented.

DownrightDebonaire -1 points 2 years ago.

I believe this is why they came up with a new name. They not only didn’t bring her back, I think they cannot reference her character. I think she has rights to the name and stuff. She definitely gets to sue for likeness and her image being recycled from old footage. in some cases they cannot even reference her character, if they do not pay her each time. Contracts for shows sometimes have the nitty gritty like that for big names.

Not a fan of the rainbow bikes. the characters also do not feel starwars their whole introduction was meh, their characters are meh, the chase was meh, Rancor ++ Wookie +++ rainbow gang ——.

Hopefully they start making better prop choices and make sure characters ‘fit’ into the universe. Otherwise this show will lose its watch ability quickly.

There was something very off about the — we don’t have enough money for water( something we need to survive) — but we have bright shiny bikes on a dust planet. We maintain them and keep them perfect — but there’s no work to make money.

Walker, Texas Ranger (1993) S3 E6
DownrightDebonaire 0 points 2 years ago.

The opening song of he pilot season and the 2nd was cheesy. They introduced this new song in the post credits towards the end of season 2. Now it’s the intro song. It’s fairly rough but I guess they kept it because it’s Chuck singing.

I would put it on my list of awful theme songs along with Enterprise

Peacemaker (2022)
irdulili 11 points 2 years ago.

This is honestly way better than I thought it would be. Not a huge John Cena fan but I think he’s found his place in the universe playing this character. I begrudgingly enjoy the soundtrack, too. About the same calibre as Harley Quinn, just live action.

DownrightDebonaire 3 points 2 years ago.

This is closer to what I thought I would get with Suicide squad. I knew Harley Quinn would have a lot of her personality involved with the directing. But this pacing and the funny dialogue is what I thought I would get from the DC movies. Their TV shows (to me) are much better

I enjoyed this show immensely. The dialogue was very close to real conversations. The big reveal however was kind of a let down. I expected something big and sinister but in the end I guess that is part of the big reveal. That it was hyped up more in the minds of the people involved.

It shows a balanced look at the person who is trying to do good vs the reality of the situation and how much you can change at a time in such a volatile circumstance.

Yellowstone (2018) S4 E10
PonderThis 2 points 2 years ago.

I’m a child of the 1960’s and my daddy loved the tv western Gunsmoke and we watched it every week. One of his favorite characters was “Festus” played by Ken Curtis. He was in his 50’s and was no spring chicken when he was cast as “Festus”. If you’re familiar with Gunsmoke and have watched it, I think Ryan Bingham who plays “Walker” in Yellowstone looks like a younger version of Ken Curtis, aka, “Festus”. Google Gunsmoke and take a look at Ken Curtis’ picture….maybe it’s just me who thinks this. Both were/are fine actors.

DownrightDebonaire 0 points 2 years ago.

Wow great observation. Right down to the actor’s photo. on IMDB he looks like Walker!

“…it does not “feel” like its old self!”
That’s because it’s not. This is a new Star Trek.
The old Star Trek is gone. Over. It ran it’s course.
People should really stop getting angry over something new.
If you don’t like it don’t watch it. And most importantly, don’t leave negative comments after you do watch it.
Sure, critique the episode but not the series.
Why would anyone keep watching something they don’t like and makes them angry?

DownrightDebonaire 3 points 2 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

I think a lot of people do not want to admit they do not like the people who keep taking the Captain’s seat in Disco and WHY they don’t like those people. Instead they come up with reasons they claim make the show horrible but have been seen in every season. The show is too emotional (just admit you don’t like scenes where people talk about fitting in). Enterprise and Voyager were all about emotions and filled with weird meditation scenes. Oh the ship being sentient is weird? Yeah we never had computer problems on TNG (by the way my big gripe about Disco is that they did not use the same voice. that woman CARRIED Star trek in more ways than one and they could have used all her old footage to make a voice filter and keep using her voice as the ship). THere’s something on the show for everyone if it was so bad there wouldn’t be new spin-offs based on how well they are doing.

And just like that an era ends… I am sad to see her go. Catherine and Warick held the show together (to me) by adding real Vegas local flavor. I even appreciate Greg’s anecdotal stories. I was hoping after this episode we would see Miss Kitty pop up every once in a while helping solve crime like Catherine did before becoming a CSI. Fingers crossed. For a 1 episode bit part, she stole the scenes she was in. Very hard to do on shows like this.

For many seasons they swore up and down to people they are not cops. They are not police. Now Nick goes running towards problems with his gun drawn. A few awkward moments I will chalk up to inexperienced actors. I think the show is pretty good and worth a watch. A lot of the heavy hitting seasoned Latino actors take a back seat to supporting roles. The fresh faced leads are lesser known and it makes it feel more authentic. The only downfall is my first observation.

she desperately wanted to keep it from her father that’s why she turned to Jamie for help. the clinic told him she would be sterilized. he let her go through with it knowing she was not only having an abortion, but that they would make sure she couldn’t get pregnant again. they did that then on the res and it’s disgusting. he purposely didn’t tell her because he selfishly and cowardly just wanted it handled. boo hoo poor little Jamie.

Beth was also traumatized as a child. her mother verbally and emotionally abused her for being afraid of horses, and then accidentally got crushed by a horse herself, which Beth witnessed and feels partially responsible for. She sucked it all up and now kicks her family’s enemies’ asses.

Also, JD paid for Jamie’s education that probably cost in the six figures that he would never have gotten if he weren’t a Dutton.

DownrightDebonaire 1 points 2 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

OOOOOOOOH ok. I did not absorb that. (yes I know about history of the sterilization of Brown women in this country— disgusting )

I thought Jaime brought her somewhere and they claimed they were going to give her an abortion which she begged Jaime to help with —fearing John’s reaction— and the guy sterilized her without consent and she blamed Jaime. I did not know he was in on it and aware before it started. That’s what happens when you have to wait weeks for more juicy episodes :)

he had his sister sterilized when she was young and without her consent. she can’t have a family of her own. he murdered a woman and covered it up. he’s a snake. awww poor Jamie.

DownrightDebonaire 7 points 2 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

i keep seeing everyone saying he had her sterilized. The way I read that scene was he was put in the position that his father should have handled but for whatever reason he had to. Beth was pregnant and he “handled it” I don’t recall any intentional maliciousness to have her sterilized which is purposeful and not an accident or repair that was needed during surgery.

As for his cowardice, He’s traumatized. physically and mentally abused for decades. I would expect nothing less. He literally flinches around Beth — she’s used him as a punching bag for years and in that time he hit back once. — I just don’t like physical abuse whether it comes form a woman or a man. I think Jamie is 100000% a result of his upbringing. He killed a reporter to protect himself and the family. Where did he learn that? The brand on the chest.

And after the burn, planets left the Federation because without warp-drive ships, every planet was too far away from every other planet. The Federation fell apart as planets simply could not interact with one another in person. Even if the Federation wanted to keep it together (which they did) there was no way for them to actually do so without having the ability to GO to those planets.

But there were also Federation ships in all the quadrants and territories within the Federation. So there was a lot more to it just being proximity with Dilithium based warp tech.

I cannot agree with you more. I am actually watching the first seasons and she is a horrible person to work with. Why did they keep the character so long and force this weird Gil relationship on the audience? It’s so awkward how Gil is a normal acting fun guy that everyone likes in the pilot and then by midway through the first season they age him up 15 years or so and make him this socially & emotionally detached person who is clueless. I ran out of things to binge, because half of my regular tv shows haven’t come back on yet. Season 1 was superb. I’m on s02e08 and I find myself skipping over a lot of the scenes, especially the sex scenes. This can’t be good for teenagers to watch, can it? I mean, I know teens have sex, but is Betty going to be the last virgin left on earth in the end? I just watch to find out who the killers are, but now that it’s 23 episodes instead of 13, I’ll probably be downloading and skipping through most of it.

Yeah I stopped watching for that reason. If you have to hire 20-somethings to play teens so they can legally be half naked on TV- you’re doing it wrong.
