This has to be one of the BEST WWII movies! It takes you on a roller coaster ride and even though you tense up and might cry during certain scenes, you want to get back on the roller coaster and ride it all over again! I’ve watched it a few times and I never get tired of it even though I’m emotionally spent after each viewing!

As of February 22nd, 2021, elite daily reported, “See Season 2 is coming to Apple TV+ later in 2021. But its exact premiere date remains to be seen.”
We’ll just have to wait for further announcements to pin this down.
I thought the same thing! It would be amazing to see a backstory to see how they survived for centuries! Maybe a mini-series! (I doubt they will as I think most people aren’t on board with it, I’m honestly shocked they’re doing a second season lol)
I would watch all seasons just because it’s soooo good. You’d really be missing out if you don’t.
Thank you for the reply. I’m still working from home and I can sneak in a few episodes during the day. And it looks like all seasons have 2 or more links which surprised me since the series started in 1998. Not often do you find a series this old with links for each season.
If you like crime dramas, you’ll love this show. Told from the perspective of the coroner’s office and homicide department in Vancouver, Canada, it’s no cookie-cutter Law and Order-style show. Some stand-aloone episodes with ongoing cases and storylines weaved in, as well. Gets into the personal lives of characters, inter-departmental politics, the media, as well as the requisite grisly homicide cases told with gritty cinematography, taut, realistic writing and humor.
I’d like to watch this drama but the question is this, do I need to watch all seasons before watching Da Vinci’s City Hall? Or could I watch the last season of this drama and not be totally lost when watching the first season of Da Vinci’s City Hall? It would take me several weeks to watch 7 seasons before starting Da Vinci’s City Hall. Thanks.
I am a curious person by nature. If I see something that I can’t explain and have never seen something such as was in this episode, no way in __ am I going to walk up to it! I might take a picture of it then run like __ in the other direction for sure!
if u havent watched what happens after s8, it gets verryyyy interesting, which is season 9, season 10 gets interesting and boring after episode 17
hint and kind of a spoiler but not really: the dead talk
Since I’ve missed a few seasons, I’m not sure if I want to watch those to get caught up. But, you’ve tweaked my curiosity though!
As I was watching this movie and the Italian officer Battaglia appears in one of the early scenes I thought to myself, “He looks like Jay Leno.” Maybe I’m the only one who thinks this but he could pass as Jay’s brother or maybe an uncle.I’ve never been a huge Sentra fan, but I like WWII movies and this one doesn’t disappoint either.
Another movie with Jenny Agutter and looking even younger in this one. I love WWII movies and have seen most American WWII movies and now I’m staring on British WWII movies. It’s nice to see how they depict WWII and what they really thought of the Yanks.
Thanks for the heads-up. On the off chance that you’ve not seen her in the series Spooks (2002), I recommend it — she’s great, as always.
Thank you and yes, I’ve seen her in Spooks and have watched every season. The Brits know how to do crime dramas very well unlike the watered down crime stuff we have to put up with in the USA.
It took me just a few seconds to recognize the young girl in this movie. Jenny Agutter has been in the BBC series “Call the Midwife” and she is a fine actress. Was surprised to find her in this movie!
cowboy_fan2K….I did the same thing! I had to turn it off when Negan was beating Glen to death! I didn’t give it a 2nd chance, I’d had enough when Negan started the killings.
LOL I totally understand. I actually do that alot to see if it’s worth my time investing for the entire thing. TBH I’d like to see a 2nd season though I wouldn’t know where they’d go with it. But I’d really like to hear your take on it AFTER you finish watching all, if you do (if you don’t mind). IMO it was better/different than most crap out here think that’s what kept me. Happy Tuning
I’m not sure what the actual ratings were for this show, but I wouldn’t be surprised if there is a 2nd season. Kinda like a ditzy blond sleuth is what she is and if she stops with the constant you know what every time she faces a crisis, I might watch a 2nd season. But, the writers need to improve her character, being dumb, doing dumb things, saying dumb things. I mean who does those things in real life? I do think she’s and okay actress and stereo type casting is always at play with certain actors/actresses and I think she falls into that category. Are we really going to like her acting when she tries to play a serious character and would she make it believable? There are a lot of better shows to watch and I may or may not watch it if there is another season.
No it was much deeper that. Perhaps on a boring day, you’ll binge to get a couple of meanings,
Oh, I understand but I’ve just finished episode 3 and now I really want to know……I could just watch the last episode and be done with it……hmmmmm…I think I’ll just do that.
I think we’re all use to seeing Kaley playing the dumb blond on The Big Bang Theory. Well, maybe not all that dumb, she did have her moments. I too found the 1st & 2nd episode annoying and almost stopped but I’m about to watch episode #3. I can handle stupid characters and a thought is the writers may have her character playing dumb for a reason. I think they’ve chosen the perfect person for this part. Jennifer Lawrence would not play this part convincingly at all! What annoys me the most is the excessive drinking and yes, I know she has a problem but enough already! I rarely drink so that is probably why it annoys me so much and that people can lose control. I hope we learn why she has this drinking problem and we do get flashbacks to her childhood when her relative gave her her first beer. What parent/relative does something like that!? I do like Rosie Perez’s character and hope they develop her story line as the season goes on.
As I was watching this movie I thought to myself, “Didn’t I just see this scene in another movie?” I do believe the studio who made the 1969 Mosquito Squadron movie used a few scenes from this movie 633 Squadron from 1964. The pilots are flying the Mosquito plane in both movies and the Germans bomb the airbase in both movies. I don’t know if anyone noticed this back in 1969 if they had seen both movies but probably not since it was 5 years between the 2 movies. But since I watched both movies back to back, I did notice.
I love movies about WWII and have been watching a few British WWII movies. It’s always interesting to see how other countries depict the war. There is something in this movie that I’ve not noticed before in other movies. I’m not sure if the tank crewman actually did this or was done by some Hollywood director, but I took note that the names of states, cities and colleges were stenciled on the turrets of the tanks. I know airplane pilots would have a mural of a women and her name painted on the side of their plane(s).
This looks really good and will be released in April. https://www.imdb.com/video/vi2193473561?ref_=pe_3369030_566602620_tt
OMGosh, that was Catherine Zeta-Jones? She is so unrecognizable.
Yes, it has been awhile since she has been in anything. I guess her movies days might be over and she has resorted to doing tv shows.
And, we only had 3 TV channels: ABC, NBC, and CBS.
That’s right and how spoiled have we become! We now have 24/7 channels unlike in the past when the networks signed off at midnight and all you saw was the test screen!
I am the only one who thinks Dr. Capshaw (aka, Catherine Zeta-Jones)is going to help Martin escape? Or, did Martin kill someone that she loved and she took this job to get close to him? The plot thickens and I think Dr. Capshaw’s time on the show will be “short lived” pun intended!
IS THIS SHOW RELLY HAVE MANY EPISODES OR MOVIE DATABASE ERROR
Yes, back then tv shows had a lot of episodes. And we didn’t have new shows to watch in the summer months (what I mean by new is different types of tv shows, we didn’t have hulu, netflix, HBO etc.)we had “reruns” until the new season started in early September and the season would end in late May. So, to pass the time away in those summer months, we went to theaters to watch movies on the big screen or a drive in theater. Oh, those were the days!
I didn’t see that coming! I had a feeling the good doctor was hiding something.
I know in Great Britain they at times will wait a year or to release the upcoming season. I did some research and what I found is that the 3rd season has been released and this 3rd season will be the last. I have made the request to have it uploaded if it can be found. I love the theme song for this drama and if you’ve not heard the song from beginning to end, you can find it on YouTube under Faith’s Song.
Another intriguing drama out of the British Isles! Wish American crime dramas were this good! I’ve never been disappointed with James Nesbitt’s acting! Thank goodness it’s Thursday and I won’t have long to wait for episode 2!
I’ve watched the first episode and I’m still undecided about continuing and this drama was on for 5 seasons?! Kinda reminds me of stargate but in reverse and I wasn’t all that fond of it either. But with Douglas Henshall in this drama, I shall watch a few more episodes and at this point, I think he’s better suited for crime dramas! I may need another cuppa tea though!
Every single character in this drama was annoying! Even the dog was annoying! Not sure if it’s the way the director directed the characters or the writers are to blame! The story line was okay and that is about all I can say good about this drama. Douglas Henshall is a great actor and I’ve liked just about everything I’ve seen him in, but the character he played was just off. Maybe this is why there wasn’t a 2nd season, many character flaws!
Looking forward to this drama and I had watched a few British tv shows with Cush Jumbo before she headed across the pond to star in The Good Wife/The Good Fight. This drama is adapted from a book written by Daniel Day-Lewis’ father in 1938.
I’m about to watch episode 5 and so far, I like what I’ve seen. Prime usually produces some good stuff. And Amy Brenneman doesn’t disappoint either and what ever character she takes on, she does it well! Something wicked this way comes!
I was watching “Big Sky” and it jumped into the “FBI: Most Wanted” and I was watching the streamplay link. I did report the issue on report link.
I have requested links for this drama. It looks very interesting and I had no knowledge of this friendship and I love any movie or tv series about WWII. I hope some links are uploaded soon.
People have been on the train for 17 years and the tailies are feed protein gel bars (won’t tell ya what there made from). So how is it that Tanya (Octavia Spencer) is still carrying around a lot of weight? I’d say maybe someone else should have been cast as Tanya who weighed less.
This is gonna be good! I can’t wait! https://www.imdb.com/video/vi1999094041?playlistId=tt9208876&ref_=tt_ov_vi
This sounds interesting and with Kelly Reilly in it, (known for Yellowstone & Britannia) it surely can’t be a bad movie. She usually plays a badass bitch (in a good way) so I wouldn’t expect anything less of her in this movie.
I’m looking forward to watching this and Andra Day! The lady can sing and my favorite from her is “Rise Up” and if you’ve not heard, go over to YouTube and listen to it. She gives me goose bumps when she sings it just as Whitney did when she sang “I Will Always Love You”.
“contract negotiations” is the catchall phrase they use to cover up bad things. He was actually having pretty serious narcotic problems and the studio was not willing to risk the CSI cash cow over bad press.
I knew that but didn’t want to cause a bunch of backlash for my comment. The one thing I didn’t like was how they killed him off. But, in hindsight, he was killed for drugs if memory serves me right.
I thought I recognized the guy portraying Brad Paxton! Gary Dourdan played Warrick Brown on CSI: Crime Scene Investigation for 8 seasons and left and it came down to contract negotiations. The parties involved reportedly couldn’t meet a resolution, and it was announced that Dourdan would leave the show. I liked him and the character he portrayed and found his acting very good!
I love just about everything that M. Night Shyamalan creates, but after 20 minutes I had to stop watching this drama. Maybe I’ll give it another chance months from now. I did the same thing with Game of Thrones, couldn’t finish the first episode and then a year later I decided to give it another go and fell in love with GOT. Maybe the same thing will happen with Servant. I’ve seen trailer of the 2nd season and recognize a couple of British actors (I watch a lot of stuff from the UK). So at some point I’ll try watching it again.
Deep sigh goes here! Deputy was canceled! I really liked it and not many dramas out there about the Sheriff’s department.
Well, I thought in the first Star Wars movie there were Mandalorian’s and now I know for sure. They’re not the good guys either!
I was in high school when the movie was released in the summer of 1977. There was a lot hype about this movie and I think every teenager HAD to see it. The nearest theater (who showed currently released movie) was a 30 minute drive. In the car I got with my best friend and got to the theater. We looked at each other and said, “D**N, look at the line, it’s almost out to the street!” But we decided we had to see it on the first night so we stood in line for 30 minutes and it was worth the wait. We were blown away by the special affects and for 1977, they were spectacular!
I grew up watching a lot of western movies and television shows in the 1960’s & 1970’s. All were the typical westerns! It is so refreshing to see new westerns go in a different direction and Tom Hanks doesn’t disappoint in this western either. I also love the soundtrack for this movie and might purchase the soundtrack.
Never forget that Tom Hanks was on Jeffery Epstein’s private plane nicknamed “lolita express” flight logs
Maybe you should do some serious research before posting your comment! Fact check: Tom Hanks is not recorded in Jeffrey Epstein’s flight logs. Have you watch Saving Grace? with Holly Hunter? one of my fav series.
Yes, and I was really surprised that it took place in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. I lived in Oklahoma for a few years and I hated the landscape and the extreme heat and extreme cold. I now live in a state that has a lot of mountains and streams, but hate the humidity though!
I could re-watch this :) dang if I forget the name of the show before
It was “The Closer” starring Kyra Sedgwick and she’s married to Kevin Bacon.
I am so pissed! I spent a week watching this and I didn’t realize it had been canceled after season one! I guess I’ll have to read the book to find out how it ends! From now on, I’ll google series to see if they only have one season! This is like the 2nd time I’ve done this! Deep…..”what do you mean there isn’t a season two” sigh goes here…….
The air date could be correct or since there was the riot in Washington DC, the networks may have had live coverage of the events and not aired any of the Wednesday night lineup shows. I don’t have cable tv anymore (I watch everything online) so I’m not sure what was shown on the networks last night.
I’ve never seen this one. I’m gonna check it out.
Saw this in a user review on IMDB:
“FYI—try watching OPERATION PACIFIC (1951) after you see this film. In this sub movie, the crew trades movies with another sub crew so they can be entertained on their long missions. They trade a cowboy flick and are given DESTINATION TOKYO. Later, one of the crew members remarks that he liked the film, but it was REALLY SHORT ON REALISM!! That’s funny, huh?!”
It seems Hollywood watered down war movies like this during the war. They wanted to boost the public morale not bring it down! Remember there were a lot of people who didn’t want to go to war again after WWI. Even movies about the European campaign were tame and especially about the concentration camps. I’ve have a German professor say what the Nazis did is worse than we can imagine and worse than our nightmares. War is hell and not just for those who fought in it and those who lived through being a POW and a Holocaust survivor and the every day people who lived through bombings of their cities and not to mention families who had family serving.
