The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr. (1993)
booger 5 points 4 years ago.

Inspired by true events (and by true events I mean the 60’s T.V. serial The Wild Wild West (among other influences)).
Does this show take its self seriously or not at all? ….Yes..er..No…possibly both ..or neither…Yes, that’s it exactly.
With an all star cast (imo) this pun filled, action, comedy, mystery, thriller, western, sci-fi, adventure, suspense, drama is great for the whole family, I highly recommend.
Another in a long line of Awesome shows cancelled before its time by out of touch execs.

The Dresden Files (2007)
booger 1 points 4 years ago.

I was really excited when this went into production but knew not to get over enthused.
I mean how many movies/t.v. shows based on books are anywhere near as good as the original?
Still, SYFY did a decent job on this with Paul Blackthorne playing the title character Dresden beautifully.
Another show ended before its time.

Reign of Fire (2002)
booger 3 points 4 years ago.

Nice monster movie with decent acting.
Could have had more action but wasn’t too slow.
Plenty of room for prequels and sequels.

The Gentlemen (2020)
booger 2 points 4 years ago.

Good story, Great acting. Watch this!

The Experiment (2001)
Lucifer.Morningstar 2 points 4 years ago.

Damn, that escalated quickly. Good psychological thriller.

booger 2 points 4 years ago.

Sounds like the ‘Stanford prison experiment’ that stirred up controversy in the early 1970’s.

Good Eats: Reloaded (2018)
booger 1 points 4 years ago.

If for whatever reason you want to know more about what you are cooking and what happens when you do, then Good Eats is the show for you.
This show teaches you techniques and the basic chemistry of what is happening to your food as you cook it.
Loved this show when it first aired, love this reload version and am looking forward to the new episodes he says are in the works.

The Strange One (1957)
booger 2 points 4 years ago*.

Lol, I saw the poster for this and thought folks was adding hardcore links.

Jimmy O. Yang: Good Deal (TV Special 2020) (2020)
booger 1 points 4 years ago.

OK I guess. A bit mild for my taste.

Solar Opposites (2020)
booger 1 points 4 years ago.

heh not a bad 1st ep. Just think of it as a Mick and Rorty spin-off and you’ll be fine.

The Call of the Wild (2020)
booger 0 points 4 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

The Good : Decent flick, worth a watch.
The Bad : Lots of fantasy as far as what a real dog could and would do and I don’t understand why the filmmaker chose not to add ‘fantasy’ in this films description. And the last part where ford goes out into the Yukon without a gun is the most fantastical of all.
The Ugly : Feral dogs are far more likely to attack humans than wolves, dogs that have belonged to a human and then gone ‘wild’ have lost their fear of us and when hungry will see prey and not a ‘master’.
Every Spring, city dwellers will make their way out to rural areas (like where I live) and bring unwanted pets to dump.
Those pets were once Christmas and Valentine gifts, but they broke up or got too big or just too much trouble and they dump them out here.
We shoot them. Not all of them (my dog and cats were dumped) but most. We let them wander around for awhile to see if anyone wants but when they go after livestock (chickens, goats, cows etc.) or become a nuisance…… we shoot.

Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker (2019)
booger 1 points 4 years ago.

Was just checking the ‘Featured’ section for dvd quality links to cam quality movies I have already watched and came across this.
Since I saw this one not too long ago, you would think that I would remember it, but I don’t.
I like all the star wars movies, some more than others and some a LOT more, but for the life of me all I can recall of this one is the ending.

Radioactive (2020)
booger 0 points 4 years ago.

Small file size is what I prefer most.
I may be one of the few who do not mind low quality, but then again I do not even own anything that can show video over 720p.

Forged in Fire (2015)
BladesofTroy -1 points 4 years ago.

Except that, with the exception of the likes of the fans, while they may have been made for specific woman they were still blades of their time that would have been used by men at the time too. So the lack of significance of them being used by women means the distinction is pointless.

booger 1 points 4 years ago.

agreed, for the most part.

Forged in Fire (2015)
nikkimckelvy 1 points 5 years ago.

I really like this show, but I really wish they would do an episode on forging weapons for ladies. In the Middle Ages in Europe and the Middle East women would have beautiful daggers made (gold and gemstones) and in Japan, female assassins would use the Japanese fans to kill their targets. I don’t think one episode geared towards women’s uses of daggers, knives, swords, and fans would go amiss.

booger 2 points 4 years ago.

While I am sure that an episode or more dedicated to the weapons of famous female Warriors would be just as enjoyable as any other, I’m afraid that I agree with BladesofTroy when he says that there would have been little to no distinction between what a woman carried to War as opposed to a man.
Those gold and gemstone encrusted daggers you speak of were worn by ALL nobility (Not just Women) and just about anyone else who could afford them, with their functionality being more on the order of ‘Hey look what I can afford to waste money on’ and less about practicality.
Japanese War fans were a thing the Samurai class trained in and used, also both female and male.

I really like this show and want to give a big Thank You to the folks who make it possible for me to watch it.

Gold Rush: Dave Turin's Lost Mine (2019)
NoxllockZ -2 points 5 years ago*.

looking for gold in old mines is a waste of time and money . see where it goes Good Luck (E. to booger . the time effort and polution it takes to open a not sustainable source is.. lazy . guess the tv money is good enuff(E again - bet the US soil is one of the most dugd up pice of earth, even since before the war.. but sure maybe they missd some go get it.. (ditten wanted to sound rude, just trying to keep it short .) i havent seen the show yet,did they find some ?

booger -1 points 4 years ago*.

I disagree.
With gold prices at an all time high, it’s a smart move for small operations to go back over proven ground, especially in the lower 48 where operation costs are not nearly as high as Alaska or the Yukon.

And if you listened closely a lot of mining was was shut down because of War, don’t forget that the demand for metals used for war scewed the prices they had in peace time. (edit response to NoxllockZ edit)
Sustainable? This is a precious metal we are talking about and not gourmet coffee beans. The supply is limited and can never be replaced. And while gold is not needed to sustain life, it, unlike a lot of other “sustainable” and “free trade” etc. crops has legitimate uses, jewelry not being one.

Strike Back (2010)
booger 0 points 4 years ago.

I was really into this show for like the first 3 or 4 seasons and then it just all went to pot or crap if you prefer.
Season 5 and 6 were a complete disaster, horrible acting and dialogue made these 2 seasons unwatchable for me.
It got a little better for 7 and now I am enjoying 8 though not as much as the first 4 seasons.

The Blacklist (2013)
booger 4 points 4 years ago.

I have always enjoyed James Spader as an actor and was eager to see this and now closing in on the end of the 7th season I am still a very big fan of this show.
With its novel (compared to most U.S. crime shows) approach to combating major crimes, some of which would be at home on that (ended) series ‘Fringe’, and the character growth of its actors, I think most people who are fans of crime, drama, action and anti-heroes will like this.

Harley Quinn (2019)
booger 4 points 4 years ago.

After watching the 1st season and some of the 2nd I have to say this is a lot better than I thought it would be.
Filled with bloody violence and often rather silly humor, this show has grown on me.
This is not a cartoon for kids what with all the blood, gore and foul language so parents beware.

Vagrant Queen (2020) S1 E3
booger -1 points 4 years ago.

Again, not as good as the 1st or 2nd for that matter, this is a good one and showcases the crew starting to come together as a team.

Vagrant Queen (2020) S1 E2
booger -1 points 4 years ago*. (Contains Spoilers)

Totally passed out while watching this the first time and did not realize until I had seen the 3rd episode.
My belated review.
While I did not laugh as much as the 1st episode, this was still quite silly and campy.
With a slightly more serious tone and elaboration on back story it was an enjoyable episode.

           edit: ***Spoiler Alert***

This episode deals with a subject I have pondered for many years.
Is it cannibalism to eat a sentient being not from this Earth?
I say, technically NO….since cannibalism is specifically a species thing.

The Passion of the Christ (2004)
Luvlinguae 3 points 4 years ago.

The film was intentionally filmed in the original languages of the day, Latin and Aramaic. There is no “English version”.

booger 2 points 4 years ago.

Yes, this is true. There is no “English version” because of ‘artistic reasons” or some such.
Although Greek would have been spoken far more than latin at the time, I understand that latin was chosen most probably because this story is told from the perspective of what the Romans chose to highlight instead of the actual recorded events.

Forged in Fire (2015) S7 E28
booger -1 points 4 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

I have watched this show for so long that I have about a 95% accuracy rate when it comes to who will be eliminated next.
And I thought Rita was gonna lose what with her poor entanglement spikes, only one was pointing in a different direction than the others, that is until I saw what Justin was up to.
Even if he had pinned his head in place he was bound to lose due to lack of functionality.
They say the same thing in every episode “you must meet parameters” and before every home forge challenge they say
“A faithful and functioning reproduction” key word being functioning.

Where Was God? (2014)
Angeldawnsoul 1 points 4 years ago.

“a cash grab by some individuals preying upon vulnerable folks and those that show sympathy.”
That’s exactly what religion does, why should they be the only ones allowed to.

booger 0 points 4 years ago.

Agreed

Where Was God? (2014)
booger -1 points 4 years ago.

Having not seen this movie I cannot comment on it.
But having lived through multiple killer tornadoes and hail storms I can attest to their devastation and the feeling of helplessness one feels after they hit.
With that said, I feel (personally, I might be wrong) that this film is a shameless attempt at explanation and a cash grab by some individuals preying upon vulnerable folks and those that show sympathy.

Time Bandits (1981)
octoberswill -2 points 4 years ago.

“targeted at pre-teen boys”….jebuz…this was directed by Terry Gilliam…so right off the bat….no…..also….lelz…it covers themes and history and mythology and their relevant meaning that wouldn’t exactly “land” with preteen boys….I was a preteen girl and I loved it when it came out..and as I got older I recognized the religious takes and other themes…dude..nah…not targeted to preteen boys..targeted to humans who understand subtext….

booger -4 points 4 years ago.

Well, Golly Gosh Gee Whiz, someone disagrees with me, what’s a person to do?

Motherland: Fort Salem (2020)
booger 6 points 4 years ago.

5 Episodes in to this and I find myself looking forward to the next one every time.
Alternate history and What If…? scenarios really get me going.
There might have been some Marvel comics that got me started on this path.

Gangs of New York (2002)
booger 0 points 4 years ago.

Thoroughly entertaining in my opinion.
If you’re a history buff you’ll like this movie.
Of course there is plenty of dramatization (like most Hollywood productions, there is still real life characters and situations.
If you are so inclined I urge you to watch ‘Uncovering the Real Gangs of New York’ from Discovery (YT might still have it) for a deeper look into the facts.
With Gang Violence, human suffering, prejudice, political corruption and the things we do/have done just to survive, this film shows just how far (or rather NOT) we have come as a species.

Grease (1978)
booger -2 points 4 years ago.

Even though I am not a fan of Musicals I really liked this.
Of course having grown up on ‘Welcome back Carter’ episodes and being madly in love with Olivia Newton-John, might have played some small part.

Time Bandits (1981)
booger -3 points 4 years ago.

Although targeted at pre-teen boys, adult fantasy lovers should still find this a good watch.
My best friend Samantha and I watched this at least once a week for an entire summer.

Big Trouble in Little China (1986)
booger 2 points 4 years ago.

Great Action flick with strong supernatural elements.
Fun for the whole family! I believe this was rated PG when it came out.

The Fly (1986)

A brilliant remake of a classic horror film.
If you like Cronenberg physical efx and creepily good acting watch this movie!

Duck and Cover (Short 1952) (1952)
booger -1 points 4 years ago.

The description let’s you know what this is about.
Growing up in the 70’s and 80’s I had heard a lot about this little gem of a public service type film.
Never really saw it until I came across it on YT awhile back and it was all I thought it would be.
Decide for your self the validity of its claims then go to a CDC, WHO or similar site and see what they have to say.

The Hateful Eight (2015)
booger 2 points 4 years ago.

Not everyone has seen a Tarantino movie and I was merely trying to convey the main appeal in a concise way.
Had no idea (or maybe just forgot) about the foot thingy.
No idea who Lisa watshername is.

Road House (1989)
booger 1 points 4 years ago.

Swayze in top form. Good flick lotsa action
Takes its basic plot from any number of old westerns where a rich bully runs rough shod over a small town and a heroic stranger steps in and says no.

Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter (2012)

I remember finding this entertaining but find myself hard pressed to recall any significant amount of details.
Easy to watch and easy to forget.

National Lampoon's Animal House (1978)
booger 2 points 4 years ago.

My father actually took my older brother and me to see this at the drive-in when I was only 7 years old.
Raunchy humor is found throughout this film, gleefully portrayed by the actors.

                   !!!PARENTAL WARNING!!!

Foul language, alcohol and illicit drug use, physical violence and gratuitous partial nudity can be found here. And worst of all there is a free-thinking hippy professor who is probably the cause of all mischief and whatnot.

Up in Smoke (1978)
booger -1 points 4 years ago.

Stoner Movie Extraordinaire!
With a mix of fantasy, silliness and a touch of reality this movie is a must see for any rebel-like person, stoner or not.

Forbidden Planet (1958)
booger 1 points 4 years ago.

This movie has it all! Action, Romance, Fantasy, Comedy and Tragedy.
All that and you will still find yourself thinking about what really lies beneath your conscience mind.
Like a good sci-fi flick with good efx? this has you covered.
Want more than just another story that’s appealing to your baser instincts, covered!

The Mask (1994)
booger -1 points 4 years ago.

Jim Carrey at his Best!
Drunk or Sober the laughs will ensue!
I was kinda disappointed they did not make a sequel but then again this would not be the one of a kind that it is.

A Scanner Darkly (2006)
booger -1 points 4 years ago.

Weird.
Almost entertaining.
I think I was just not on the right drug to find this film any good.

In Bruges (2008)
booger 2 points 4 years ago.

I remember that I liked this movie.

Deadpool (2016)
booger -1 points 4 years ago.

If you like anti- heroes then this is the superhero movie for you.

Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels (1998)
booger 1 points 4 years ago.

A must watch if you are in any way intrigued by the description or just wondering what to watch next.

District 9 (2009)
booger 2 points 4 years ago.

Nice good movie. Not your typical sci-fi monster flick, but that is what makes it so good.

The Hateful Eight (2015)
booger -1 points 4 years ago.

Good enough for at least one viewing if you don’t mind all the blood, gore and self indulgence.

Natural Born Killers (1994)
booger 1 points 4 years ago.

This movie started me thinking about about all those dark thoughts a great many of us seem to have.
I got over it without incident.
Good Movie, Great Actors and disturbing subject matter (especially once you look into to who Woody’s dad was).

Lolita (1962)

I watched this a few years after the 90’s version came out and found it rather dull.

TRON (1982)
booger 0 points 4 years ago.

Thought this movie was life changing when it first came out and it was…..for the exact amount of time you would expect a pubescent kid to give it.
Lovely film I recommend.

Children of Men (2006)
booger -1 points 4 years ago.

I like post-apocalyptic stuff so this suited me fine.
Well acted, solid story, good ‘nuff.
