I like the show, knowing what it was going to be seeing that he has teen kids and all. The issue most people have in general are angsty teens, and I think it usually comes from just seeing them be angsty without seeing where it comes from before see all the emo shit. Production is definitely better than the other CW shows so far. And as for cowboy_fan2k’s point, I agree about tokenizing Lex Luthor, though I think Coby Bell would make more sense if they “had to.” I don’t really think it is Lex Luthor, since he’s just called Luthor so far. Supergirl’s Lex may still be canon. Too many adaptations do it. I mean, they race swapped Jade in Mortal Kombat Annihilation, but then did it backwards with Mileena in the new one. Neither are even white in the source material, which is cringey anyway. If I want a black Superman, I’d just wish for an Icon movie.

They DID allow fatalities… They just took away the bloody brutal ones.

My only issue was Anya Taylor-Joy’s lines coming off as pretentious/cringey/cheesy. I mean, the Wizard of Oz “Lions, tigers, bears, oh my” was a straight ass pull out of nowhere. Other than that, the movie is fine. Not a lot happening until near the end after about an hour, which is unfortunate.

Roxy was nitpicking reasons to hate men. Yes, men in patriarchal societies were often horrible people, but things have changed since feminism, even to the point that there are far stronger societal privileges for women than men. You can nitpick any negative thing about anybody, it doesn’t mean that’s all they are. People know that businesses were corrupt, no matter what sex/gender ran them. People are people, and we can all be horrible.

Great second episode!! So far, it has been a smooth blend of Man of Steel and Smallville. I have to add that the effects are really good, better than Supergirl for sure. I think Jonathan Kent is a really likeable character and I look forward to him getting powers. So far my only complaint is the writing for Jordan Kent whose character goes up and down more than a yoyo. One minute you think he is developing and then its straight back to angsty teen. A minor complaint on a so far great show. 4.5/5

The authenticity of the action is part of what makes this fun. It’s not all super-martial-artist-ish like other action films like The Transporter, but aims to be quite a bit more realistic.

Also, this movie shows how important it can be to understand another’s perspective. To Theon Greyjoy (lol), it was just a fucking dog. To Neo (lol), it was a link to his dead wife. When people refuse to try understanding other perspectives, they risk unknown consequences.

Am I the only 32 year old black straight atheist man who cried like a bitch? Yeah, 32. Never been in a relationship. Even had to pay to lose my virginity, then 20 others after within 3 years. To find the love of your life… 3.5 centuries too late. To think that not everybody really find the one only due to generational gaps.

On top of that, this episode showed to me something related to an Aba & Preach video based on The Talk episode where Rihanna says if you cry because your ex is dead, you’re single. It’s the exes that help make you the person your are, for better or for worse. If not for that asshole who treated her like shit or that gentleman who helped her realize her level of asshole, your lady may not be a stronger/better woman. Same with the opposite of her being worse, depending on how she takes it. Same with the opposite sex or opposite sexuality.

Dope movie. Honestly came for Amy Johnston before knowing Michael J White was in the movie. Scott Adkins is dope. Actually imagined them mentioned as Johnny Cage, Sonya Blade, and Jax for a personal Mortal Kombat fan casting.

So far, good pacing. About as good as Stargirl was in season one, not a villain-of-the-week formula, if not quite yet. Nice to see original black characters that don’t have to be identity swapped or taking mantles from other superheroes.

Damn, pretty damn dope. They really don’t hold back on the gore. And yet, MK vs. DCU didn’t allow fatalities.

I feel like this was aimed at the female fans and maybe…you aint the demographic this was made for….I am and I loved it….we still love the series together though, right?

If you’re a fan of the Monster Hunter game this will be a hugely disappointing film adaptation. Kinda feel bad they typecast Milla Jovovich in these roles and give her a bad story to work with. They should’ve focused on mainly the Monster Hunter world because adding the real world element killed this. The action was fine and some of the CGI was off but this is a bad cam quality to truly judge. Just another typical sad video game movie for me.

That said, at 25:37, I disagree that facts and figures aren’t important, since personal experiences can vary. Both very much are, but pandering to emotion too much can backfire, as it ignores what maybe be more or less important for the situation. Just because I’m a metalhead who don’t drink alcohol (first was taste, second was diabetes) doesn’t mean all metalheads don’t drink alcohol.

Not so much a horror, but something else with a bit of horror elements near the end. Very interesting story. Seemed to show signs between faith and delusion, especially at the end.

I mean… while I don’t like that Annabelle just believed her without proof (reveal scenes are cool, and this one ignored it), it’s a little on the nose now why she’s a fan of Superman. Not so hidden, since it was obvious, but hoped she was just a character with powers.

I don’t think I’ve seen any nudity yet. I think the SCP was cut to keep it like a “real” movie.

I just can’t get behind Maise Richardson-Sellers having two character roles in one show, Vixen and Charli. Makes Charli feel too much like a side character, especially as a shape shifter who just prefers to look like another character.

Nate’s simpiness is kinda annoying. Always find it cringy when characters can’t keep their composure at all in any show or story.

The Alice/Mary thing is very similar to a step-sibling (non-porno) version of Harley and Ivy. Also, the look at the end was too on-the-nose, lacking that individuality in place of just being a copy. I still think Alice wasn’t needed for this season, kept on only for popularity than story reasons.

They are going hard on the lesbian (female & gay, specifically either/or) empowerment with this show. The 2nd Batwoman just happens to be another lesbian (not even a bisexual, asexual, or trans, but another lesbian), almost no interesting male characters that are seen positively (villain/traitor/creep, broken up with, or challenged stances that is likely overridden like Jacob and Lucas).
