This TV show gives the same “impression” or feeling that SG1 (stargate 1)
A good main hero that has a weird sense of humor and doesn’t care much for unjustified authority. Good 2nd roles and interaction between all. Saving the world in BG via a extraordinary technology (found in both series thanks to aliens). a real Entertainment that will make you “Feel Good” and hopeful in the “Future”
Brave New World (2020)
Was a Big fan of the book as a teenager and it’s part of those books like “Gattaca” or “1984” or “Lords of the flies” that just mess with your mind big time.
For those who read it, this serie is “inspired” by it but not respecting the same plot just the main “subject”, the book is much darker, deeper and its ending too.
The actors are good, the plot, not taking its source inspiration in account is not bad at all, and it’s a bit like opera, or you’re ready for it and you’ll love it or you’re not and you’ll hate it. oh and the prudes be aware they do the Nasty allot :p
I must say I had higher expectation for the ending tho ;) the “box” is a a bit WTF for me…

The Tv show is pretty good just wish there was an episod 9 cause imagination takes you really far at the end of episod 8 :p
Impulse (2018)
Hardcore is the best subjective that comes to mind. Really good actors including the young ones. Pretty good scenario, really raw and tough subjects are set and pointed out.
I can really feel for the main character with the childhood and teenage-hood especially I had where your family treats you like your a bad girl no matter what you do, think you can take it like adults do don’t even wonder how you feel, you know the Kid in you. And you aint got a clue where or what you’re doing there anymore.
But definitively a “not for every audience” tv show… “Hardcore” really defines it well ;)
Lovecraft Country (2020)
it begins covering an interesting and so “trending” subject : racism & discrimination. I’ve read all Lovecraft’s books and Edgard Alan Poe’s writtings etc. and played a long time the Classic RPG “Chtulhu”. So was expecting something in a realm of wierd and unsetteling.
Unfortunately, Ep. 2 it slides slowly but surely on the “demon/god/jesus” stuff and - for me -totally distroys the Lovecraft universe by doing so.
The actors and the background subject of racism are good, but for the creepy “Lovecraft” universe, well… disappointed…
A bit like if ou took a good Lords of the ring and said “God” or the “Devil” created the ring and you’ve got to be a priest to carry it… It distroys the universe Tolkien has created…

This tv-show was one of my biggest frustrations in tv-show discovering. It’s an awesome scenario, good actors, good mystery and then… came the budget and it stopped.
It has no real end with a truely very promissing first season.
Wish they would continue it.

a realistic point of view of what it would give to have “super power” people among us.
Season 2-3 there are some “longer” parts a bit more “political” lets say but the main scenario is well done and actors well chozen.

I highly prefer “the 4400” or “misfits” this tv-show is very stereotyped and not realistic at all…
Example : do you really think a due that has super powers will openly be allowed to have a decision making place in politics ?! (fear wasn’t taken in account… fear makes humanity stupid… in Real life, the guy would be arrested for whatever reason that comes to the goverment and cutted into pieces like a geanee-pig.

The seasons are weird and out of “norm”, episodes lenght too. If you like that all tidy it ain’t for you.
I like it like that it really gives a “dynamic” to the show.
The scenario is fun and original and the Actors are Really good all of them!

one of my big favorite tv-shows all time !
The scenario is amazing and has a really well made “ending” which is rare nowdays.
The actors are good. Gotta get use to Olivia tho, she’s kinda tense :p but Walter is really great and funny!
Been watching this tv-show since the year it got out… at least 2 or 3 times a year I just come back to it and enjoy it like one would enjoy going to the amusement park.

Fat humour with low waste jokes and a wicked sence of pop culture… just a Blast ! It became one of my “Big Classics” in the Comedy genre through the years and Times I’ve watched.
Soooo Many quotes, sooo many WTF situations… If you’re bored and really need a boost of laughter, … and you don’t mind a few cussing… LOL

Overall a good action-scifi movie.
the (sci-fi) concept is interesting, nicely setup and the director went to the end of his idea. The actors are pretty good, including the main actor that, like Bruce Willis, doesn’t hesitate to “get dirty” for the part.
The plot is a bit predictable and the clashing of blood & meat a bit show-off which, for me, puts it more in the “action movies” section than thriller.

The Darkest Minds (2018)
When adults prefer anihilating the future -litterally- of mankind because They’re not in control of it and it scares them instead of embracing it, you get a crashing sad society…
Overall : good young actors (all of them which is becoming rare nowdays) a plot easy to grasp and predictable (due to all other Marvel & super heroes movies that came out this last decade) but yet presented in an entertaining way.
Very nice environment and camera takes.
And yes, like said in other comments, it’s wide open for a sequal.
… A good entertainment not too folish for the brain and well presented.

Ah, did a little research on “Haley Joel Osment” who plays the a.i. boy ~ no wonder you found him to be a “young very good actor”; He did this movie following The Sixth Sense and Pay it Forward. But I never heard of this one. “He is the first millennial male to have received an Academy Award nomination for acting.” (IMDB)

This movie is not his best. The intrigue is not bad, the actors are good with a theatrical way of playing pretty often (don’t have that in nowdays movies)
I knew the TV Show before seeing there was an old movie on the subject.
The TV Show has the same slow paste but it goes deeper in the story and in the “gift”.

It’s a Sci-fi fairy tale, and the story goes deep into the imagination of the creator. I like went people develop their thoughts till the end :)

well for me it’s a 3/5: good scenario, not bad actors and very nice landscapes;
I havea big problem with the credibility of it all on the other side:
people make love, still have kids, still “marry” … so the reproductive “system” is still there…
Nothing is explained on how they got to have a 100 troubled kids, full of hormones, drop solo on earth and the young guys don’t, none of them, go for the girls without asking permission ?!
Women, in a post-apo world are “dominant” warriors … not a single “rape” not a single explaination on WHY suddendly Men don’t have the Urge to take it on women when everything is going down to shit…
Cfr. Shows like “Jerico” where humans are “humans” in all the good and BAD ways humans are.
IF you wanna make a post-apo world for humans or you give a Good reason for that Primal need of sex to not Be there at all for noone (nor skykru, nor grounders,…)though Ego, Violence and need for destruction are still there … (all as Primal)
Or you make credible scenarios where it’s part of the “game” of having a destroyed human world.
But like this well… it’s gummybear land… not credible
The biggest first “Threat” in a destroyed and so Unsecured society without laws and instutions making sure these laws are respected by all equaly, without any “restrains” on the primal beings that we are, is one Fear and Threat that only Women would have : Rape. And all the psychological and physical pain it inflicts. (With the male Ego telling Him it’s his duty to repopulate the world and share his “seed”… hum! it’s clearly the first Big threat post-apo)
This TV show made me think of World of Warcraft ; where male players mostly choose sexy female Elf avatars cause Girl’s look more sexy in Armors than guys… Cause that important threat is totally missing…
Watched all the seasons hoping that with this or that population/part of “history” it would show up (eg : when they fell on the prisoners all murderers…) or at least an explaination of where it went… but nope, nothing.
