Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire (2024)
User67 2 points 6 days ago.

No expectations were needed with this film it was just total rubbish well at least the first half was.

WeirdMonkey 1 points 6 days ago.

Well, then how do you know the second half was if you walked out? If so, you can’t call it total rubbish, only partial rubbish. I’m not saying it’s the best Ghostbusters movie ever, and I certainly had my questions too concerning particular plot points. Still, overall, I thought it was decent and enjoyable.

I went to see it this passed monday and I was bored as F*….. so got up an walked out .

WeirdMonkey 0 points 6 days ago.

I see. You went in with expectations. The film didn’t live up to those, so you gave up instead of simply enjoying it for what it is. Understood. You know what they say about opinions though…

Snakes on a Plane (2006)
WeirdMonkey 1 points 2 months ago.

This movie may have not been received well by many, but I think it’s fun! Not too much on the memorable side, but nice to revisit after a decade or a little less. I’ve always personally thought that Sam Jackson thought that just because he is who he is, he could do any movie he wanted without damaging his career. Like he made a bet or something. Lol

The Wolfman (2010)
WeirdMonkey 2 points 6 months ago.

I love this movie! Critics be damned! So many wonderful elements to sink your teeth into (no pun intended lol)! The scene with Del Toro strapped to the chair with the doctors in the room…so good! They may all be bit actors, but their fear feels so genuine! Awesome movie for those that get the Halloween bug like I do!

Ghost Adventures (2008)

These people take away a legitimate paranormal experiencers platform completely. They make it look like a joke. Thanks to people like this, I don’t talk about the two experiences I’ve had in my 45 year life anymore.

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania (2023)
WeirdMonkey 1 points 8 months ago.

From the moment I saw Jonathan Majors in Loki, I knew he was bad news. His performance rubbed me so many wrong ways! Over the top, and pretentious, to say the least. Meets his personality in real life, I suppose, because he beats up on women. Good movie, but glad they’re recasting him. People like him deserve to be thrown into the ditch.

Insidious: The Red Door (2023)
WeirdMonkey 3 points 8 months ago.

Wow. Very let down. Even the ones that didn’t rate well (Chapter 3 and The Last Key) still had a bit of charm to them. This one just seems to ramble on without much substance. If you’ve seen and enjoyed the entire series, then yes, watch it for the purposes of completion, but there isn’t much to write home about here.

Star Trek: Picard (2020)
WeirdMonkey 1 points 11 months ago.

I am sooo clamoring for a Trek series based on Worf!! Think I’ve said it on here before, but I’ll say it again! Was thinking they could call it something like, “Star Trek: House Of Mogh” It could be the first Trek series story line not centered around Star Fleet. :)

Mike Judge's Beavis and Butt-Head (2022) S1 E17
WeirdMonkey 1 points 1 year ago.

Been watching Beavis and Butt-Head since they first arrived (I was exactly their age in the show when it premiered), and for the first time ever, I honestly feel sorry for Beavis!! Made me bust out an “Awe, man!” LOL…still, fantastically funny episode! These new episodes didn’t lose a step…in fact, I think it might’ve gained a few! :)

WeirdMonkey 3 points 1 year ago.

PS: I am SOOO glad Primewire is back!! Was a regular visitor since 15 years ago, then had to search for alternatives after what happened, happened. Seeing it back is a true treat! Congrats you guys! :)

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds (2022) S1 E1
WeirdMonkey 2 points 2 years ago.

What a welcome return to form! If you’ve been hoping for Trek to revisit the classic formula it used to be—episodic in nature, no long-winded narrative, and positive climaxes, then you will more than likely take away nothing but a positive climax yourself! Very, very encouraging first episode. Enjoy🪐🖖🛸!!!

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds (2022)
PonderThis 16 points 2 years ago.

Never did I think as a kid watching Star Trek (back in the late 60’s), that someday there would be so many different story lines. Yes, I was lucky to be a grade school kid in the 1960’s and watched every new episode (the new tv season started in September)each week until the end of the season (which was May). Then I got to watch it again in the summer months as a re-run. I never got tired of seeing ST and with so many new spin-offs now, I won’t get tired anytime soon of seeing one Star Trek episode after another! Live long and prosper.

WeirdMonkey 9 points 2 years ago.

I was thinking it’d be super cool if someday they gave us a Trek series based around the perspective of one of the series’ other races. A series based around Vulcans or Klingons (my personal choice). Like one that brings back Michael Dorn as Worf in his later years on the Klingon home world. They can call it, “Star Trek: House of Mogh” or somethin’…lol

Try Picard. I think you will like it much better. Much better writing and acting.

Hand over fist better than Discovery.

Did anyone catch who directed this episode? It was Lea Thompson, yes that Thompson from the movie Back to the Future.

Yes, I did right away, and it made me feel all fuzzy and warm inside! ;) LOL

Mr. Mercedes (2017)
WeirdMonkey 1 points 2 years ago.

Anyone else besides me out there notice the recurring theme with the color combination of navy blue and army green? It’s placed all throughout the first season(at least—just about to finish the first). A chair in Hodges’ place is navy blue with an army green throw pillow, his suit is navy blue with an army green tie…even Brady wears different shirts multiple times throughout the season with the same exact color scheme…watch out for it if you check out the show…crazy thing is, is that’s one of my personal favorite color combos, dress-wise, and just in general. Maybe that’s why it stood out to me like a sore thumb…lol

The Kids in the Hall (1988)
WeirdMonkey 6 points 2 years ago.

So cool so many here are taking note of this post. Kids In The Hall will never not be funny, their comedy was irreverent and not based current events, and that’s the entire reason the comedy goes over so well no matter what generation. It’s timeless comedy, as well as the timing within the comedy being unparalleled, if that makes any sense. Lol…if you’re young, and have never seen this show, do yourself a favor, and give this show a chance…I really don’t think you’ll be disappointed if you like your comedy jaded and confused…but still makes sooo much sense!! Lol

Family Guy (1999) S20 E9
WeirdMonkey 1 points 2 years ago.

Really loved this episode! Some of the alternate character names gave me a few honest-to-goodness laugh-out-loud moments…overall, I just like it when they change up the format a bit. Time travelling, period-oriented, and anthology episodes always tend to be my favorite Family Guy episodes, personally.

Chapelwaite (2021)
WeirdMonkey 5 points 2 years ago.

Love Stephen King anything since I was a child (43 now). Some adaptations are definitely better than others, and the adaptations of his short stories can also most definitely leave something to be desired when they try to flesh it out with their own original writing amongst King’s (see: Under The Dome). Not in this case though, in my opinion! Very intriguing, I’m really diggin’ it! I’ve also always liked Adrian Brody (despite the criticism he gets now and then), and this is the best thing he’s been in for quite some time—you can tell he really got into this role…like in a real “Pianist” kind of way. Most certainly worth a watch if you’re already a King fan, but still worth it too if you simply love a good, gripping horror/drama! :)

What If...? (2021)
WeirdMonkey 2 points 2 years ago.

This is as full of cheese and holes as a block of Swiss could be. What is with the juxtaposition here? Marvel corners on live action, DC on animated. Marvel can’t seem to crank out the gravitas DC has in the animated world, DC hasn’t been able to crank it out so far in the live action, UP UNTIL Zack Snyder’s Justice League, which should make Marvel shiver in their britches.

Married... with Children (1987)
Xerxezzz-22 3 points 2 years ago.

OMG, OMG, OMG! Are you serious? This show has always been one of my all-time favorites!

WeirdMonkey 1 points 2 years ago*.

I’m very serious! I wouldn’t bullshit about a show I love this much! A Google search’ll tell ya all ya need to know! David Faustino’s given several interviews about it over the years, as well as the rest have always made comments when asked. Even recently. They’re ALL into it! All WE can do is keep our fingers crossed! As I said, in the articles I read it was stated that it was a legal matter of some kind, but I could find no specifics, just theories. Faustino himself said it was something legal, but he wouldn’t elaborate. The interest is there though. Amongst the actors and the original crew. Again, they need to hop on it soon, cause time is running short!

after 23yrs of not seeing Al,peggy, kelly and bud …i need a reboot and start watching them again b4 shtf….still a lot better than 95% of the crap they make now

WeirdMonkey 3 points 2 years ago.

I’ve read several times over the years that they are all very much into doing a reboot/continuation of the show (they all remain good friends), but there was some kind of legal thing that was unnamed that was getting in the way, so it’s always been on hold. Some said it could be that Fox has legal issue with it, or maybe it was prior contractual obligations from some of the actors, like Ed O’Neill being tied to Modern Family for so long, and Sagal on Sons of Anarchy and such. Who knows? I’m sure it’s bound to come up again. They should do it soon though, if they’re going to do it at all. Hate to say it, but they’re not getting any younger. O’Neill is 74, so…yeah, they should hop on that. Hope they do. I think it’d be a thrill to see! :)

The real question is how does a simple pair of glasses make Kent unrecognizable as superman

WeirdMonkey 1 points 2 years ago*.

I feel like Superman should also have the power to force grow a beard when he’s Kent. Sounds silly, but at least it’d be more believable than (what are more than likely) fake glasses…you know, because Superman already has supervision, so you know the glasses aren’t even real. Lol

Unfortunately, no links as yet, but Charlie Murphy (who I hadnt heard of, until I watched Chappelles Show), is hilarious, and just as funny as his big bro Eddie. Its a shame that Charlie Died in 2017 of Leukemia (yes that was spelled wrong, I am a Movie commentor, not a spelling bee champ). His stories of Rick James and Prince are hilarious-and apparently true!

Superman & Lois (2021) S1 E1
WeirdMonkey 2 points 3 years ago.

I was skeptical, but that ended up being a lot better than I was expecting! It got right to the point and gave you something to really sink your teeth into. Now all they have to do is hold the momentum, which is always the hard part. Coming out the gate strong is good, but only if you know you can continue to show that strength. If it can keep me coming back like The Flash does, then fine. That being said, there have always been other CW shows I’ve always taken a hard pass on, so hopefully this doesn’t end up like those “other shows” for me. 😆

Parrot Sketch Not Included: Twenty Years of Monty Python (TV Special 1989) (1989)
WeirdMonkey 2 points 3 years ago.

This special was the very first time I ever saw Python. It aired on PBS when it first came out in 1989. I had just turned 11. Found Python AND The Kids in the Hall at the same time, and talk about a life changer! Too bad it’s a very poor, wobbly tracked VHS dub. Hopefully some better versions of it are found soon! It was released on DVD as a part of the “Monty Python Live” box set back in 2001, so I know it’s floating around out there somewhere! Very good special to introduce a “newbie” to! If they don’t like these sketches, they probably won’t like any of them. LOL

An hour and a half in, and as much as I pride myself about what’s EXACTLY going on in a movie every single time I watch one, this one, everything’s great, except I don’t know what the actual plot is supposed to be. He’s trying to find something, you don’t know what it is, and they expect you to just be intrigued by that the entire movie, I guess. It was an okay movie, the action sequences were very unique, but that’s about as much as can be said. No one will barely remember this movie ever existed except through pure happenstance in 10 to 20 years. Don’t believe me? Well, I just overheard a couple 20 year olds ( I’m 42) talk about how they thought The Matrix effects were CORNY!!! That was just a LITTLE over 20 years ago! Expect the EXACT SAME with everything YOU think is so “hot & fresh” right now!! LOL

Him and and all men alike are papier mache, at best. You can gather as much money and material possessions as you like, as many men and women to protect you as you’d like. The more you have, the more pretentious and phony you become. Whether you like it or not, or how aware of it you are. It’s not too difficult to see through. Anywhose, this is a hard watch. Especially if you know anything about anything.

What’s funny, is people keep down voting these comments, and that’s all well and good I suppose, because they’re always saying to post these kind of comments in the Forum, right? Only problem with that is I’ve made many, many posts and requests in the forum similar to this and they always go ignored 99% of the time. Even with requested links that can’t be posted, people get a response saying they can’t be found, but I’ve never once had a similar experience. The only listening that ever seems to happen is with those who’ve managed to establish a familiarity with the administrators by continuously saturating them with posts. Guess I need to be a chat box junkie in order to be taken seriously. LOL
