Details:

Rights is a documentary poetry video about the rights of water and wild creatures, featuring water activist Maude Barlow and ‘people on the street’ interviews, asking ‘what rights do fish have.’ Filmed in Owen Sound, Ontario, home to the annual Salmon Spectacular. Rights examines how we treat other species such as the introduced Chinook Salmon populating Georgian Bay and Lake Huron. Many people believe fish and the waters they depend on have no rights of their own, that their value is solely as a resource for humans. Maude Barlow questions this attitude and offers some shocking evidence that should concern us all.
