Details:

The obtuse psychoanalytical and visceral nature of war will unfortunately keep its popular aspects in our cultural zeitgeist for a long time to come. Rarely discussed is what happens to soldiers once they return home. Dressed in Military Special-ops R&R dress code consisting of a fitted t-shirt and green workman’s pants, we first see Sergeant Tyler Herrera silhouetted by the morning sun. He arrives home to ecstatic family members who recognize his exterior but are concerned with his distressed and dejected disposition. Through a mixture of story-telling, visuals, sound cues and nostalgic anecdotes, Sergeant Herrera opens the door to the hazards of what he and many soldiers live through while ‘on duty.’ With a severe depth of emotions expertly concealed just below the surface, Tyler answers his families questions to the best of his ability…until he has a flashback. The backfire of a car sucks Tyler right back to the front line which leads to a very emotional story about Private Parcazzo and how without his heroics, Tyler would not be alive today.
