Phoenixology is A four part film series; directed, shot, and edited by Kerry Mondragon. The title refers to Jean Cocteau and Salvador Dali’s notion that artists often die in order to be reborn. This four part film series is An homage to Jean Vigo’s “À Propos de nice” shot by Boris Kaufman which is broken into 4 parts. Phoenixology’s film was shot in the middle of hurricane Katrina in NYC and the city of Taipei in Taiwan. Broken into its four parts: PART ONE: A WORLD PLUGGED IN, PART TWO: A WORLD UN-PLUGGED, PART 3: A REVOLUTION, PART FOUR: A FREE WORLD (Poem’s by: Will Inman and Allen Ginsberg) with Urban Nomad Film Festival, Diplo, and Rooftop films.
