Details:

The Yirritja Dhapi is a ceremonial recording of boys initiation in Northeast Arnhem Land, Australia. The recording is a collaboration between Gumatj and Dhalwangu clans in Biranybirany homeland. The traditional song, dance and storytelling featured is translated by the doctor and song man of the ceremony, leading the viewer through the symbolism and history of this ancient and celebratory ceremony.
