Dr Georg Sibelius is a successful gynecologist and passionate about his work. He is married to Elisabeth, still young and beautiful, but very unhappy and unable to bear children, who deeply resents his devotion to his work. Things get worse when Sabine, an old flame of her husband, unexpectedly turns up. Elisabeth is jealous, and not entirely without reason: Sabine is still interested in Georg. However, the doctor recognizes that she is a very ill woman with little time to live and thus decides to make her happy in her last days. When a jealous junior doctor and a devious lady patient use the relationship between the doctor and Sabine to hurt Dr Sibelius professionally, it is time for Elisabeth to put aside her jealousy and stand by her husband. |
